Good to know they're other people on NarniaWeb. I totally loved the movie! I may even go see it for a third time. :kicking:

As for how long the scenes were, I think they were awsomely timed, and flow great. Plus, there wasn't much that was cut from the film. Mostly everything that was shot was in the final screening. So if you're buying the DVD, it won't be too surprising if they're not a lot of deleted scenes. The movie's pretty lengthy to begin with... a whopping 2 hours and 20 minutes. It's 100% amazing if ya ask me. :xmas_happy:

I watched the BBC ones when I was younger.. so I guess I'm used to the slower tempo. (6 episodes x 30 min)

I got the impression that the deluxe version will maybe have extended scenes.. At least I hope..

But the final screening was good as well.

You can't really compare BBC's versions of the books with this Disney production. This is a big, worldwide presentation - A full length film! While BBC's films were much smaller productions.

As for the extended scenes, I never said there won't be any extended scenes, but just don't expect too many deleted scenes. Pretty much all of it made it into the final movie. :thumbsup2:

There should be a bit of extra stuff but yeah, I don't think they shot much that didn't make the final film.

Do you have any international dates for the DVD's release?

Not sure about international release dates right now; only North American dates. Sorry. :xmas_sad:

But remember, these dates are not official, as are the DVD versions. :thumbsup2: But hopefully, it's all true.

Douglas Gresham Already Working on Prince Caspian

In a NarniaWeb exclusive, a little bird has whispered in our ear and NarniaWeb has learned that Douglas Gresham is already busy working on Prince Caspian. We don’t have details at this time about what he’s specifically doing, but he is busy working on the film. We also have a sneak-peek at Gresham’s schedule during the next few weeks:

He is off to Tokyo, Japan next week to work on their specific program for the LWW release.

He will be in Virginia Beach at Regent University from February 7th to 11th.

He will be in Australia in May for a Conference from Thursday, May 4 to Saturday, May 6, 2006 at New College, University of NSW

Will the 2-disc version also be in "widescreen"?? Most of the movies shot today are in the widesceen format.. there's no need to even advertise that on new movies.. it's like a standard thing.

More News on Prince Caspian

Variety.com has reported that Prince Caspian is in the planning stages.

Walden CEO Cary Granat told Daily Variety that the "Narnia" story of a fractured family coming together has resonated in every market.

"The worldwide audience has genuinely connected with the story’s emotions from Indonesia to Israel," he added. "And in markets where the ’Narnia’ stories aren’t well known, Disney’s done a brilliant job of marketing."

The success of "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe," the first published in the C.S. Lewis series but second chronologically, is spurring plans for a sequel based on the next title, "Prince Caspian." Granat said work on a script is under way, with plans to tap a director within a few weeks.

"We’re planning on starting production by the fourth quarter of next year," Granat said.

It’s unclear whether this statement was given in December or January, so Granat could be referring to the film production beginning in either 2006 or 2007. You can go here to read the complete article.

Narnia DVD Coming April 4

Mark your calandars! Walt Disney Home Video has officially announced that The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is coming to DVD on Tuesday April 4!

The single-disc and two-disc Collectors Edition will release on the same day. We don’t have specifics on the special features at this time.

About.com Previews Narnia DVDs

Fred Topel from About.com has previewed the special features on the single and two-disc editions of the Narnia DVDs.

In Spring 2006, you can choose between two DVDs. A single disc release will have two commentaries (Andrew Adamson and his technical crew, and Andrew Adamson with the kids), a pop up fact track (created in conjunction with the C.S. Lewis estate) and a menu/screen saver with scenes of the production. The two disc set has all that plus a second disc of bonus features, housed in a case that looks like the wardrobe. Disc two’s menu actually lets you walk through the wardrobe as you select extras.

Bonus features on the second disc include:

Cinematic Storytellers
The Children’s Magical Journey
Anatomy of a Scene (the melting river)
Chronicles of a Director
Meet the Creatures of Narnia
Three dimensional map and tour
DVD production
Production footage

UPDATE: Video Business Online adds that the double-disc DVD "will include a collector’s booklet, concept art and 10 hours of bonus features on the second disc divided between features on filmmaking and features on the creatures and characters in the film.

Also included are backgrounders on 11 of the creatures in the film, an interactive map of Narnia with descriptions of different locales and a feature on author Lewis."

All we can say is, 10 hours ... that’s a whole lot of Narnia!

I've seen this film recently. Well, it was a... Kinda... Boring. In a word, I am disappointed a bit. The film is not that bad but I almost fell asleep when watching. I think the best thing about the film is the Queen. I don't know the name of the actress who's playing her but her acting is SO BABULOUS! I would give her both an Oscar and Golden Globe and whatever else if I only could!
