I've all seven books and they are soooo awsome! I can't wait till it comes out on DVD! I hope it's a 2-Disc Collector's Edition. Disney's bringing out a lot of those sets and I think Narnia would make a GREAT 2-Disc (or even THREE disc) special collector's editon!! :spaz: :spaz: :spaz:

I seriously think I'm now the biggest Narnia fanatic!! I'm trying to get all sets that come in the McDonalds Happy meal! (BTW, If anyone has them and want to send 'em to me, I'm always willing to accept :xmas_tongue: )

Rumors on the DVD Release:

With a U.S. gross of over $130 million in just two weeks, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe has already become Disney's highest-earning film of 2005. The earliest rumblings of its DVD release pin the big screen adaptation of C.S. Lewis's acclaimed fantasy novel for April, where it is expected to arrive in three different versions: separate but similarly loaded 16x9-enhanced 2.35:1 widescreen and 1.33:1 cropped editions and a more collectible deluxe edition which will carry a list price of $10 or so more than the studio's standard $29.99 tag. More specific details and a firm date likely won't be announced until sometime in the first two months of 2006. It is also not yet clear how (if at all) the cancelled companion DVD Adventure Through Narnia (which was slated for release earlier this month) will resurface. We'll share more when there's more to share.

More Narnia DVD Rumors:

Until a press release is posted by Luke, let's make this the official Narnia DVD thread. DavisDVD has posted cover art for what I assume is the standard edition:

The font used for the company names and the film's subtitle seriously need to be altered into something smaller and less plain. Other than that, I'm glad they reused the poster.

Now, Luke had posted last week that there would be a standard edition retailing for $29.99 (in separate widescreen and pan and scan versions), and a deluxe edition retailing for about $39.99. Now, this could mean one of several things:

1. The standard edition is a barebones single disc while the deluxe edition is a 2-disc affair. The problem with this is that Disney hasn't retailed a 2-Disc set for $39.99 in years, which leads me to...

2. The standard edition is a 2-Disc set with numerous features while the deluxe edition is a 3-Disc set with even more features aimed at die-hard Narnia fans, much like WB's decision with the recent Wizard of Oz re-release. This seems more likely than the first option, but there's also...

3. The standard and deluxe editions are alike (possibly both 2-disc sets), but the deluxe edition comes in a sort of giftset containing physical supplements such as a book, photos, or a film cell, much like the Platinum Editions.

I'd personally like it if option 2 were the case, but 3's not bad, either. There's no official date, yet, but sources at NarniaWeb have said that it would be released right before Easter. This would mean an April 11th release date.

Also, director Andrew Adamson has said that not a lot of footage was cut from the film. He said the only full scene that was cut was of the celebrations during the coronation scene at the end (which you can see a bit in the trailers). All other footage excised was taken from existing scenes, so expect one actual deleted scene and several extended scenes on the DVD.

And that's all I know of this release so far. I'll keep posting in this thread when more info pops up.

It's definately expensive, but it's absolutely worth it! Hopefully there will be a 3-disc set; I'm sure to get that! :spaz: But the good thing is that not too mant parts of the final film was cut. I guess that explains why the movie's 2 hours and 20 minutes long... but I'm so anxious to see the extended scenes, bloopers, and hopefully lots of documentaries! :xmas_happy: Hopefully there'll also be a few music videos from the 'Inspired By' soundtrack.... I have to say, allCeline, we may have to have a battle for the largest Narnia fan on celinechannel.

I'm planning to stalk William Moseley for the next couple of years because I am seriously in love with him.

I have read all the books and have been waiting for someone to make it into a movie for years I seriously cannot wait for the DVD to come out! I am definently getting the deluxe edition even if it costs a lot, because it will be worth it for the extra features.

I will buy the deluxe edition.. Felt that some scenes were too fast/ cut quickly when I saw the cinema version.. like the time they arrive and the girl enters the wardrobe -all that in 2 minutes!

I saw the film and was really inpressed, i saw in original one on the BBC here in the UK it was done as episodes then brought out as a full movie on video. anyway i saw the film with my boyfriend last tuesday and wrote a review. here;s the link : review
