poetic Posted February 22, 2006 at 07:36 PM Posted February 22, 2006 at 07:36 PM Seriously, what amazing duet. I almost cry when I hear it. The song is beautiful too. Here's the lyrics if anybody want it.Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest WordWhat have I got to do to make you love meWhat have I got to do to make you careWhat do I do when lightning strikes meAnd I wake to find that you're not there What do I do to make you want meWhat have I got to do to be heardWhat do I say when it's all overAnd sorry seems to be the hardest word It's sad, so sadIt's a sad, sad situationAnd it's getting more and more absurdIt's sad, so sadWhy can't we talk it overOh it seems to meThat sorry seems to be the hardest word What do I do to make you love meWhat have I got to do to be heardWhat do I do when lightning strikes meWhat have I got to doWhat have I got to doWhen sorry seems to be the hardest word Quote Puedes ver cómo me desmorono, o solo te das cuenta de mis erroresHay momentos en los que puedo sentir, que lees mis pensamientos¿Sabias, que todo mi tiempo seria para ti?¿Sabias, que solo veía a través de ti?¿Sabías que jugaría mi papel hasta el final?Sé que lo deje claro desde el principio,My Love

fred Posted February 22, 2006 at 09:10 PM Posted February 22, 2006 at 09:10 PM Was that all on Entertainment Tonight? He kept talking about how they were gonna show exclusive stuff from backstage and all, they showed a little bit then it ended and he started to talk about something else. Was that a preview? Or do you have so short TV-shows in America?? "Your voice is tender loving..." Is that what she sings in The Power Of Love? This is the first time I actually notice what you all talks about: how only the first verse is live. You can hear a sound difference this time. Or is it just me? And yea,I agree with all of you, she needs to record a new track for "live" performances if she has had that since À L'Olympia. /fred Quote Peace and love to all.
Mozinha Posted February 22, 2006 at 10:03 PM Posted February 22, 2006 at 10:03 PM OH GOD.I just watched the video. That's MY CELINE!!!!!! THAT'S MY LADY!!!!!! I'm so proud of her. She looked TERRIFIC! winforlife Posted February 22, 2006 at 11:32 PM Posted February 22, 2006 at 11:32 PM I think ET did a great job showing Céline and Elton working together. Elton's words were gracious and genuine which is atypical of this guy Gooo Céline. Céline was goofy and funny as usual-love the woman Quote http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v119/LKlafter1/1367035680_small.jpg

mangust Posted February 23, 2006 at 03:07 AM Posted February 23, 2006 at 03:07 AM Thanks for the bootleg also. It's great to feel her presence...And I'm more and more hoping that maybe they're gonna make a DVD out of it. firebird Posted February 23, 2006 at 03:50 AM Posted February 23, 2006 at 03:50 AM Guys, I was lucky enough to attend the show last night. Despite her lipping half her songs in this show, (and majorly flubbing the lyrics to TPOL, hehe) I was very pleased with her duets with Elton.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Oh come on, she only sang 9 songs and still she had to lip?! Thanks for the bootleg. I'm Alive is one the best versions I've heard recently. Love Can Move Mountains sounds ok, at least she was SINGING it and not squeaking her way through like she used to do. Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word : one word - amazing Quote
Krys Posted February 23, 2006 at 11:53 AM Posted February 23, 2006 at 11:53 AM (edited) Celine was lipping? btw, i did notice the MAJOR mistake in TPOL Edited February 23, 2006 at 11:54 AM by lamourpourCeline Quote
thevoice Posted February 23, 2006 at 12:17 PM Posted February 23, 2006 at 12:17 PM (edited) celine's best friend for the last 3 or 4 years is the playback .i think she sounded great in "sorry" specialy during that last note tho i didnt like the finish and i think she could be more powerful . all of those songs like IACBTMN , TPOL and even MHWGO - celine just cant sing those classics like she used to and she probably doesnt want people to compare her recent performances to her old ones cause it's clear her voice is not the same anymore . she sings it night after night in playback in order to protect her voice while performing in vegas but what her excuse now - when she performs every once in a while on TV she can sing those songs live but she just fear people would notice the diffrence that's what i think . The show for Eddy Marnay is also one of her best ever musically and vocally....Moreover, she has sung MHWGO a billion of time and it wasn't so long ago.Of course her voice is not the same anymore...But due to the climate in Vegas and her schedules, what is she doing is still impressive.... Her live in Vegas are sometimes very bad, but outside she can still deliver and give the best, even if it's sometimes different from the past....That's it !Now it's time for rock, for jazz, for fun ! musically, she is always on top and surely more than ever, that's the most important thing. But yeah ! those playback are a shame. Céline's Blues Posted February 23, 2006 at 01:43 PM Posted February 23, 2006 at 01:43 PM I think it's useless to convince gogo that she still can sing. LOL Quote http://i.imgur.com/dmreJ.jpg
Krys Posted February 23, 2006 at 01:45 PM Posted February 23, 2006 at 01:45 PM IACBTMN and MHWGO sounded live. though i must admit the duets with Elton John were nice Quote
firebird Posted February 23, 2006 at 01:56 PM Posted February 23, 2006 at 01:56 PM I think it's useless to convince gogo that she still can sing. LOL<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Of course she can sing live, but why doesn't she do it? I mean it's easier to understand when she does maybe 4 or 5 songs of 20 in playback at her show, but those were only 9 songs. In that case to me it seems only to be laziness, and if you consider how much people paid to see the concert ... Quote

It's not that she sings playback all the time. I think it's simply out of sheer laziness & convenience. And above all she sings the songs in playback I don't care about one bit so why bother? Seriously she always shines live and considering the strain Vegas puts on her and her asthma I think she has the very right to do it. As I said she does not exaggerate it. firebird Posted February 23, 2006 at 02:18 PM Posted February 23, 2006 at 02:18 PM Frankly I stopped bothering about it long time ago. It's not that she sings playback all the time. I think it's simply out of sheer laziness & convenience. And above all she sings the songs in playback I don't care about one bit so why bother? <{POST_SNAPBACK}>I do bother, not for Céline especially but in general, that it is seen as normal for a singer to do playback. If they don't want to sing live, they shouldn't sing at all, for me that seems better. I mean, it's only because people don't bother about this, that the singers get through with it. Personally I would prefer she did one live performance like Sorry Seems To Be or Dance With My Father (at Grammy) per year than playbacking her way through various TV shows. Quote

There is also the second. If you put Céline into perspective she is not just another ordinary singer. She is also huge commercial enterprise - a human one - that is supposed to promote herself as extensively as possible. The only way to do so without damaging your voice is to use pre-recorded tracks. Sour times, I know and it's not right but that is the right of commercialism. She is in the middle of that now. Still making the best out of it as I think. Quote http://i.imgur.com/dmreJ.jpg

fred Posted February 23, 2006 at 05:39 PM Posted February 23, 2006 at 05:39 PM The I'm Alive performance was actually quite something. I had lost hope on that song. I really love it when she sings the part "... I can't wait - for the rest - of my life! " in about 02:41. Very nice, a different approach, and it is these things we miss out on those pre-recorded live tracks. So SSTBTHW and IA was live, which more? I don't care to bother hearing the ones who aren't. /fred Quote Peace and love to all.
