Join for One-of-a-Kind Performance to Aid Hurricane-Affected Families

Feb. 20, 2006, in The Colosseum at Caesars Palace

Harrah's Entertainment Artists Rally Together

LAS VEGAS, November 30, 2005 - Three of the world's most popular entertainers - Celine Dion, Elton John and special guest host Jerry Seinfeld- will join for a one-night-only performance at Caesars Palace, on Monday, February 20, 2006. The Presidents Day evening gala in the Colosseum at Caesars Palace will benefit the recovery fund for hurricane-affected employees of the resort's parent company, Harrah's Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE: HET).

"We are deeply grateful to Celine, Elton and Jerry for the generosity that will create a once-in-a-lifetime entertainment experience for our guests and sustain the important work that is helping thousands of Gulf Coast families get their lives back," said Gary Loveman, chairman, president and chief executive officer for Harrah's Entertainment.

Tickets will be on sale beginning Monday, December 5, 2005, priced from $100 to $1,000 (plus tax and handling fee), available at Ticketmaster outlets, online at ticketmaster.com and in person at the Caesars Palace Box Office.

Sponsor packages that include luxury hotel accommodations, premium seating and a pre-show VIP reception in PURE nightclub at Caesars Palace also are available online at caesarspalace.com and by phone at 702.407.6445. Packages range from $3,000 (two orchestra seats and access to pre-show reception) to $100,000 (backstage meet-and-greet for four, 26 orchestra seats and three suites).

Shortly after Hurricane Katrina closed Harrah's resorts in Gulfport and Biloxi, Mississippi, and in New Orleans, Louisiana, the Harrah's Foundation seeded an Employee Recovery Fund with a donation of $1 million. With added donations from employees, guests and industry associates, the total has grown to more than $3 million. All funds will go directly to Harrah's hardest-hit employees, providing them with badly-needed financial assistance as they begin the process of recovery.

The Recovery Fund is one piece of a comprehensive relief effort for the nearly 8,000 employees who worked at the three properties. The company guaranteed employees' pay for 90 days, continued health insurance benefits, opened employee information and recovery centers in Mississippi and Louisiana, gave affected employees first preference for available jobs at the company's 35 operating casinos across the United States, and provided financial assistance to employees relocating to other properties. Several weeks later, when Hurricane Rita closed Harrah's Lake Charles, relief benefits were extended to the 1,400 employees of that property as well.

At Caesars Palace, Celine Dion stars in "A New Day...," Elton John performs "The Red Piano," and Jerry Seinfeld presents his acclaimed stand-up comedy. The three international superstars performers form the core of entertainment at Caesars Palace, which has been responsible for Pollstar magazine ranking the resort's Colosseum among the top two ticket-selling venues of any size in the United States (Pollstar, Jan. 2004, Jan. 2005).

From the H.E.A.R.T.

Celine, Elton and Seinfeld will share the Colosseum stage during Monday's benefit

By MIKE WEATHERFORD

REVIEW-JOURNAL

Celine Dion, Elton John and Jerry Seinfeld are used to sharing the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, but not on the same night.

The three main tenants of the 3-year-old theater plan to meet onstage Monday to raise money for the 9,000 Harrah's Entertainment casino employees affected by the Gulf Coast hurricanes and floods last year.

"Everybody looked at this as a unique, once-in-a-lifetime, one-of-a-kind performance, in the spirit of raising money" for the employee relief fund, says Scott Schecter, the company's vice president of entertainment.

Earlier in the week, tickets to the H.E.A.R.T. Benefit (Harrahs Entertainment Artists Rally Together) were still available at $300, $500 and $1,000. There is also a room-and-show promotion with two tickets for $900. Buying the best tickets for all three acts separately at the Colosseum would add up to a non-deductible $670.

Beyond that, Harrah's is taking a cue from Andre Agassi's annual charity benefit and wringing the most out of the Colosseum's 4,100 seats by offering corporate packages, with the $50,000 and $100,000 packages guaranteeing backstage face time with the stars.

The first "H.E.A.R.T" benefit in November gathered local headliners including Clint Holmes and the Scintas.

This one couldn't come together by then. It wasn't for lack of commitment on behalf of the stars, but because of the logistics of matching up all three schedules, Schecter says.

Dion's emotional response to Katrina victims came out on a Larry King show in the wake of the New Orleans flooding.

"I could see the rage inside of me as a mom, as a citizen, as a human being, and couldn't see the changes as fast as I wanted. I couldn't take the pain and couldn't take the images every night and every morning," she explained in September. "I just couldn't hold it anymore and I just exploded."

John's attitude was "What can I do to help my fellow employees?" according to Schecter. "He looks at himself as a Harrah's employee."

Dion opened the Colosseum as its anchor tenant in March 2003 and performs "A New Day" about 150 times each year. Seinfeld followed that May with the first of more than a dozen appearances. John debuted in February 2004 and recently performed his 100th date there.

The three finally coordinated their schedules for Monday, the night after John's current stint ends but before "A New Day" reopens. Seinfeld will fly in just for the event. A unique stage configuration will host both Dion and John's bands.

"It truly is a hybrid of what all three artists need. The production guys had to put their heads together here," Schecter says. "We were trying to get everybody comfortable. It was not one particular performer who was going to have the run of the place."

Just how much the three will interact remains to be seen.

"Both Elton and Celine have chosen specific songs for this show," Schecter says. "We're even hopeful we could see Celine and Elton get together on something and do a duet, which would be awesome. I hope that they will. That's in their hands."
