DVD of A New Day...Live In Las Vegas

well you know what
i have 2 oh my god.....and can't believe .. thing.......
first one oh my god....................... is that on Austria's sony site they have change the release date to 01.01.3000 - A New Day...Live In Las Vegas / 202336 9.............. who would still live until 3000????

It's a symbolic date that Sony Music Austria gives to all the unknown release dates.

I also read from what someone said on Celinesmiles.com, that she got word from someone in Vegas that the DVD is being postponed until the end of her run there. Oh well look on the bright side, we all wanted a newer DVD, maybe by then they'll make another one!

Trust me we wont, we don't mean a squat to SONY and they think they overtreat us by just giving us the three year old DVD they've held before us and dawn away when we have gottn close for numerous times, look there how kind they are..

About DVD's, one of these days while surfing around looking for some news about the A New Day DVD, I found something rather weird. In Sony spanish site they have a PDF DVD catalogue and right in the first page signaled as NEW RELEASES we have a funny thing, a CELINE DION THE DEFFINITE COLLECTION, but with no cover design yet as you can see in the pic attached they have written in spanish (portada en preparatión) wich means the cover is still beeing worked out! Well may this be the reason why they postponed A New Day DVD? I already contacted Sony Music Spain about this, but I'm still waiting for an answer! What do you think?

If anyone wants I have the whole PDF file here with me, I just didn't post it because it's a little large and that's in fact the only thing that matters from there!

Sony is NOT the reason! :angry2:

I think they will release the DVD in march/april 2007 because of Caesar's Palace! :angry2: :crybaby:

If the DVD comes out now, the public will stay away from the show (too expensive!) and Caesar's will miss loads of money (hall rent etc.)! That's also the reason of the show changes they will do! To make more people travel to LV to see the show!

And with a 2007 release Caesar's have all the money they want!!!

And I hope, they will reshoot that DVD before it comes out (in 2007 :crybaby: ) :msn-wink:

LOLOL... I always go there in that site and it was the very first time I saw it, lol... anyways... about what Litsas said:

They could release the DVD and reformule the all show because she has recorded over 200 songs, will she spend 4 years singing the same songs? Changing one to two songs from month to month? I really think they could release the DVD and then change the all concept of the show... a brand new day for A NEW DAY! And by the way... Sony does have some of the guilt in this... and you just can't take it away and set it all on Caesers... it just makes no sense at all! They already have their part... in the beggining they said that the show would become lucrative if Celine would perform at least 100 shows... she performed 300 and around 240 sold out... Think about that!

here's the bad news i went to the cd store and there's nothing about it..................... then why is it on NZ's sony site?????

it says the dvd was released on 17th Jan??? but i can't find any...

well i'll check it again next week

cause many times the dvd won't get in store on the date of release normally like 1 week or so .......

According to CelineDionmagazine.com the DVD won't be released !

I'm really excited about the DVD being released and all but guys...let's face it, if it actually comes out it's not gonna be the whole show since she has 2 more years ahead of her. Lots of people wouldn't even make the effort to travel all the way to Las Vegas, they would just see the DVD. I'm guessing it'll be just a part of the show, Celine's great but when it comes to business, we ain't getting nothing for free. Don't you think she went a little overboard with running the show for 3 years???...I absolutely love her but I'm afraid she'll wear people out.

No you're wrong about that... Off course they will bring out the whole show on DVD would you buy one with 6 songs on it??

No and neither would the world.

Show like cirque du soleil has put their shows on dvd too even when the show is still running... People want to see it for real even when they have seen the DVD...

The reason they cancelled the DVD is for media critics.. waiting 1.5 years before releasing a show is just to wrong...

I agree. If they release the DVD before the show ends, then everyone will buy the DVD, and never go to the show again. It would be a loss for not only Ceasar's, but for Celine too! Remember, Celine put her OWN MONEY into this, and if they get no sales for the show, then Celine looses too.

Sure, we're ALL disappointed, sad, angry, etc. But it's all for the best.

And the longer we wait, the happier we'll be when it's finally released.

We ALL know that it'll be released, even if it takes a LOOONG time.

But the point is that it WILL be released, and the long wait is for the best. :flowers:

I don't think releasing a DVD before the show is over will have a negative impact on the ticket sales. If the fans really want to see the show after watching the DVD, they will make every effort to do so. If anything, it can actually help the sales. Many haven't even heard of the show, after watching it on the DVD, they might want to see it in person. And think about it, how many copies of the DVD do you think will be sold to give such a negative impact on sales, not many I suppose. This won't be the first time a DVD was released for a show before the end of it s run like someone have previously mentioned. The bottom line: it's good exposure for Celine, Sony already released an album, this will be complement it in a sensible way. Just my 2 cents.

However I do not think it will negativily effect the sales. I mean which non Céline fan would spend $23( yea it is a bit more expensive than other DVD's, the pice is on CDON) when they wont even bother to buy a single(if the existed, long lost memories) from her. No only fans will buy this DVD, fans who have been there, regular people who have been there and wants to relive it, and fans who aren't able to go there, infact I am 100% sure it will motivate those who have very hard to go there but could if they put a lot of wok and money into it: coz when I first heard about the show I thought "nha, never gonna go there, I'm a fan but not a stupid one" when the CBS special was shown (with the flying TFTEISYF and IGTWOAS) I was so over my ears about wanting to see this show... then changes have been added plus a lot of design changes, then I wanted to see the DVD coz I had no chanse then to go to Vegas and I was sure that if I got to see the DVD I would sell my soul for plain and concert ticket. Now after postphoning and postphoning I don't have the urge anymore... and I think "nha, never gonna go there, I'm a fan but not a stupid one". And I know that when(if) the DVD comes out by the end of the run or after I will have a gigantic urge to go there and get the best seat in the house, but then it would be too late, coz I wouldn't have time to book a flight nor a concert ticket... - and they wont get any ticketmoney out of me.

So this is just what we call in Sweden "dumsnål" - stupidly stingy = coz even though they're trying to save money they're doing it for a lower profit.

This might very well be the reason! If we take a good thinking she might be thinking in releasing this Special A New Day Performance in DVD so sales will revert entirely to the fund of help to the victims. I mean, this is just something I thought! I mean she could have realised: Well here's something I can give to the fans and help at the same time. Because it will be one of the shows performances, but it will be special, so she brings us something and we help by buying this.

But it's really a thought I've been developing for weeks now! What do you all think?

no way to make and release a DVD so fast. if they really record the show in May, the fatest the DVD can be released this fall.

I don't think the DVD will come out anywhere this month. but the DVD will release sooner or later, definitely not cancelled.

according to Sony Music New Zealand, the DVD even already released there. :laughing: so Sony Music poland could be wrong too.

I don't think they'll release it in 14th, but it's possible anyways... they did it with other things... Tribute to Heroes around two weeks after they did the show the cds and dvd were released... so why can't they do it now? I still think it will be like that! And I'll keep thinking like that, I'll keep fooling myself ans that way I just don't get angry because they didn't released it now... LOLOLOLOLOL!

cause Sony Music is always slow as hell. :bleh:

and the Tribute to Heroes DVD is just the same as the TV show, don't need any edit, just make discs. but the A New Day DVD need a lot edit and add effects, features, bonus...... a good DVD need months to make. I prefer they take time to make a good DVD with good features than rush to make a trash DVD can't show how great the show is at all.
