I guess no one can believe any of these release dates anymore. I'd like to see them give at least two DVD's when it's released. The original "short blonde" version, since it does have some songs that are no longer in the show that I like, and the newer "long brown hair" version of the show with the slightly different song list. I thought the Las Vegas CD was pretty good. I'm suprised they did not release the DVD at the same time, THAT would have made too much sense I guess

Sony probably wants to make sure people will be able to afford both the exisitng CD and then have money for the DVD. My own opinion is that the DVD will have her newer look and show. Remember that for all we know her show will change again in the next two years (oh no, more waiting!). I've never really believed that puting out a DVD will cost them any ticket sales. First of all, most Celine fans that can afford it will go to the show regardless. A DVD still does not replace being there in person, and the fun and exicitement of the event itself. Alot of the Caesar's palace tickets are sold to people that buy the tickets at the last minute becasue they are in Vegas at some convention and they see the big signs in front of Caesar's and decide to go. I'm sure at some point some version of the DVD will be released, hopefully htis year. I think putting the DVD out actually would help ticket sales anyways. Even though DVD's are great, people still enjoy being part of a big concert, especially at a beautiful concert hall.

It means that Sony has not planned the release date, yet. And the DVD won't be released before the end of this year (= fall 2005).

Ah okay....I was confused because you said they won't be releasing it before the end of the year, so next year. And you put a happy smiley next to it..

And then you said that you're happy if they release it in Fall '05, but you previously said they won't.... still get it?

 

Anyway, Fall/Autumn '05 ends on December 20th, so hopefully we'll see it before that date...

The email says the DVD won't be released BEFORE the end of the year. End of the year = november/december 2005, so it won't be released BEFORE november/december 2005, it doesn't exclude that the DVD will be released on november/december 2005 (fall/beginning of winter 2005).

 

But I'm sad now 'cause I read 2006/2007 on celinedion.nl. Who gave them this info?

Actually, on the Dutch version it just says 'date still unknown'..

So it's just an indication.... Sony Music NL probably told them they still haven't heard about a '05 release, so could've posted 2006/2007 just so we won't get our hopes up again.... lol

I see this DVD thing going 2 ways.

1. They will not release the DVD until closer to 2007. Reason being, why would the release a DVD that shows a show that people are currently paying to see . If they release it now then everyone can have a Celine Dion: A New Day concert in the comfort of their own home.

OR

2. They will release the DVD within the next year figuring that if people buy the DVD now then they will want to have an oppertunity to see it live before it ends in 2007.

 

Me, I see the first option as more likely to happen because you have to figure for Sony, Feeling Productions, Dragon or whoever is involved it's all about $$$$. Which way can they make more money???

I think they won't go for option #1 either....

These days DVD's are also being used as a promotional tool, and obviously, the AND DVD is excellent as promo.... It could definately pursuade people to go and see the show (if handled the right way)....

 

Of course there are people who already made up their minds and won't go, or just can't go.... there's a slight chance the DVD will convince them.... otherwise it's just a gift for those who cannot make it to LV....

 

But we'll see what the future brings..

all i know is...there better be a bunch of BONUS material on it!!! For waiting this long for the DVD it better be the best Celine DVD ever lol.
