And she’s such a humble person, just like Celine, and my other favorite singer: Karen Carpenter. Olivia & Karen were also dear friends. Olivia was monumental in the 1970s. So many hit songs and albums. Such a warm, mellow sound with absolutely stunning vocals that showcased both her delicate side & her power. She was a huge star and then Grease, of course, catapulted her to global superstardom and allowed her to veer into different directions musically. Physical, which showed an edgy side to Olivia, became the top selling single of the 1980s. That’s amazing considering the competition of Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, etc. I highly recommend listening to all of her albums from the 70s.
