Guys, it's not the first opinion (and surely not the last one) about fans wanting Céline to record another LTAL or FIY album. That is somewhat understandable cuzz I think that Céline represents the one they have falen love with. But let me just say one thing that is for sure as I think: The VOCALS. I can state here and now that there won't ever be an album with vocals that compare to those which you can hear on FIY.

 

Let's not be delusional and believe Céline is still able and still WILLING (which matters more I think) to push her voice to limits and to prove herself to others vocally. She is not. Voice is not important for her anymore and although she still says she cares for it, you and I and everyone else here on the forum knows exacly one or two persons that she cares IMMENSELY for now.

 

FIY was a scpecial album where she used her vocal just to show off - I am VERY aware that some of you ADORE and CHERISH her vocal style found on this album but if I were you I would not hope for another album that is vocally as much stellar or should I say as much technically perfect.

 

Even if I believe she still WOULD be somehow able to push her voice exactly the same way she had done it on FIY she would not be wiling to do that once again. It was an extraordinary strain to her voice and everyone who is a songer agrees that using your voice to extremes can be extremely damaging and it's certainly not a good way to sing. She only preserved her voice which is now IN EXCELLENT condition - considering she can sing Destin almost EXACTLY as she did it in 1994 in Paris recording studios - because she stopped overusing her voice.

 

It's time, and you know that within surely as much as I do, for albums vocally like "One Heart" and "1 Fille & 4 Types". There is absolutely no doubt she will sing big amazing David Foster ballads - she loves them after all - but don't expect her to sing on the perfectly as she did in the 90's. Let her feel the song, raw emotion, not just sing it.

BTW, I watched LAP DVD again. Destin on L'ecole Des Fans almost sounds exactly the same after so many years. and Celine was ill on L'ecole Des Fans.

There is a video of Let Your Heart Decide on the YouTube website. The song sounds similar to Kelly Clarkson's "Breakaway." That song was a big hit on the radio. If this is her new single, it sounds different and modern, maybe it would do well? What do you think?

to us i know, but to the people that arn't Celine fans and don't watch the music scene closely wouldn't have seen or heard about her much and might not even know she's doing a show in Las Vegas (i'm talking about experience from in the UK).

I surely appreciate many opinions of Céline fans caring for her and saying she needs to pull off a "comeback". This only shows how much you all adore her, but in my opinion there should be a clear definition of a "comeback". Truth is UK is a really "special" country and inevitabely a "comeback" would mean for Céline to lower her standards extremely. You have to always think about that. What would it cost her to score a new hit? Music has changed and céline doesn't fit in which is not a big deal at all. And...as if she'd care for it, but she doesn't. She ain't Mariah who still being in her 60's will be whoring herself with 70 year old rappers spitting with ice cream on the television screen during "MTV Hipp and Tripp 2054".

 

And don't you think Céline's voice is in exellent shape now? she sang JNVOP and Destin flawlessly recently despite being sick on that day/week.

as you said yourself - what you wrote is your opinion - and what i wrote is mine - i didn't mean to insult Celine 'cos i'm a fan! i was only giving ideas when i posted that! so if you feel that way - i am sorry!

 

also i never even mentioned about her condition of her voice, which i presume you feel as though i slated!? absolutely NOT - i love her voice which is why i'm a fan!
