Javito Posted February 22, 2017 at 11:03 PM Posted February 22, 2017 at 11:03 PM we are sicking for English Material TSMGO and Recovering was a big disappoint to all of us sometimes I think an unreleased material would pleasant more the fans than a new record Don't hesitate that even for a second Having the chance to choose between getting The Show Must Go On, Recovering or even the new BATB song, and then Love Still Exists or the Spanish version of HYEBIL? I wouldn't hesitate for a 0,01 sec Quote "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"
LukeD Posted February 22, 2017 at 11:49 PM Posted February 22, 2017 at 11:49 PM I don't see "Recovering" as a disappointment. It was meant as a statement, not a hit.I think it is a beautiful song anyway. It simply needs a better production, possibly better instrumentation so that it does not sound demo-ish. Quote

I think there was too much expectation for Recovering when it was said Pink wrote it. I for one didn't expect what we got but after listen to it and hearing the lyrics then I knew the song is exactly what it should be. Quote Instagram: @delphis78

And I wasn't disappointed even with the fact that "Recovering" was written by Pink. She's written beautiful ballads before. "Glitter In The Air," "I Don't Believe You." I'm not surprised that Pink would write something like "Recovering." 1 Quote https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PL54qnRGM2gMatthew Charles - "Fix You" - Live at The Stonewall InnStonewall Sensation - Season 15Originally written and performed by Coldplay
Taking Chances Posted February 23, 2017 at 12:24 PM Posted February 23, 2017 at 12:24 PM we are sicking for English Material TSMGO and Recovering was a big disappoint to all of us sometimes I think an unreleased material would pleasant more the fans than a new record I agree with the studio version of The Show Must Go On, it's terrible. Nothing compared to her live performance in Vegas or the one with Lindsay Stirling. That's the studio version we should have gotten. It's super dramatic and it just works. I still can't believe how much they f***** up the studio version. As for Recovering, it's grown on me. At first I didn't like it much, but her voice on the track is really crisp and beautiful. Not Winter-Song-Sia-crisp, but healthy crisp. My problem with the song is that I feel like it's lacking a little production value. Not entirely like The Show Must Go On does, but there is something missing. I especially notice it after the second chorus, after that the song just washes out. An alternative way of singing Recovering would have been amazing. Where she really hits those "Little By Little" notes. 1 Quote
celinesounds Posted February 24, 2017 at 08:29 AM Posted February 24, 2017 at 08:29 AM I think that would have come off as beyond self indulgent. I big over the top production would not have been the way to show her grieving. It would have come off contrived. A simple song, with heartfelt lyrics and a clear message was the way to go. To have Celine record a song with belting vocals and an acrobatic arrangement would have had her panned by the critics as using her husband's death to garner a hit. It would not have gone well for her. I love Jim Steinman productions. I'm a huge fan of over the top. This just wasn't the time. the Song was written by p!nk, you know what i mean, her productions are high level, besides is beautiful song, but not at level of I Remember LA, TCOML, SSDA.... isurrender Posted March 7, 2017 at 11:42 PM Posted March 7, 2017 at 11:42 PM I think there was too much expectation for Recovering when it was said Pink wrote it. I for one didn't expect what we got but after listen to it and hearing the lyrics then I knew the song is exactly what it should be. I remember when we knew that Pink wrote a song for her, I posted that we were going to get a piano driven ballad and was going to be disappointed. Everybody took me for a fool. At the end of the day, I might be among the few ones who like the song. It's touching , soft and raw at the same time. With words I wouldn't expect Céline to say ("erratic" ...)Not single material but it served a purpose to my eyes. On top of that, it's very well sung. It gave me back the faith I had lost to hear Céline singing just normally, simply and a good pronunciation. Whenever I listen to Recovering, I think of "A song for you" which is awful. .. what a improvement! 3 Quote
Javito Posted March 8, 2017 at 10:14 AM Posted March 8, 2017 at 10:14 AM I like Recovering, for the purpose it was written. I appreciate that and that's why I enjoy it. However, it's not rocket science that this is not single material, and neither a song to boast about when the album promotion is due. That's pretty obvious I think. I would include it in the same category as songs like "Dance With My Father". It would be OK to include this in another "Essential Collection" or in the so called TCSV.2 as a rare track, but that's it. It's nice to have it there, but not to take the place, the time and promotion that many other songs will probably deserve. It was promoted, and well promoted, with 2 great TV performances, and also in her Vegas show. It had it's life, now let's move on. Hope they think the same way in Céline's team Quote "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"
