The concept of a "new voice" is interesting. Because I presume it would be a victory for her just to get back to how she sounded before the pandemic prior to the symptoms worsening even more. Would a realistic expectation be for her to sound like she did on her best CWT vocal days? Or are we talking a vocal thickness and relaxed vocal cords that she hasn't felt in over a decade?

I think the latter. I don’t think Celine was happy with her Courage voice and now that she knows why, she’s going to try and even surpass that.

I think she evolved her mixed voice and head voice so much these last years, inconsciously, because of the SPS... it seems to me that the disease makes way more dificult for her to belt, because a belt needs more muscle...

But we can hear from her singing in those interviews that her voice is far more relaxed...

Especially this TF1 interview, where she sang in frech with that heavenly headvoice... that's the classic Celine we love!

On the other hand we have TPOL snippet that she sang... that's a more strong voice, so I have high hopes for her to recover at least 50% of her full voice...

For me there's no doubt she'll be so much better than the CWT...

Most of my issue with the vocals we got from her in the last few years before her hiatus had to do with her "bedroom voice" -- as well as yodel, pronunciation. Even if her raw ability were dimished, she could sound so much more pleasant imo if she dropped some of those habits. I know she went on about nasality over the years, but funnily enough I didn't find it that big of an issue.

But I mainly remember about this new voice and when Anne Claire asked her if she likes her new voice in reference to her getting back in the studio in the documentary. she clearly responded that IT IS not her new voice. She answered that she was full of spasm at this time. Is she totally getting back to her past possibilities ? Not totally yet. But she s getting closer.

I don't associate MHWGO with that. But I don't listen to the album version that much. And it is a feature of her voice, but she started doing it way more in unneccesary moments. I'd have to find a typical example to show what I mean, but she never did it in this certain way on the TCWT for example.

but the studio version? can you point a specific time in the record that you hear that?

Well I thought Celine was searching her words and was more percutant in English. I thought SPS was still unclear if something catch the interview without knowing. Anne Claire wasn’t that good.

But it was good to hear her in French and I like when she said I am Celine Dion maybe for the first time plus the way Anne Claire asked for details about her voice.

It was probably hard to get into a flow when the interview was only 10 mins. Maybe if there was time to acquaint in French, the answers whould feel more relaxed and spontaneous?

Yeah, a shame TF1 got so little time.

In terms of the responses given, I found this interview to be the best of the 3 we’ve seen so far. Celine could clearly express herself with more ease, and her answers were more cohesive than in the English interviews.

I think we noticed right away that it sounded a bit different.

So what does she mean with her new voice, and also in the BBC interview that it's being 'rebuild' ?

I think that what she means is that she learns/works on using her voice freely again without pushing, so no more tunnels or nasal techniques. And now that she is on specific medication and therapy, she can obviously use her voice freely again, which she couldn’t the last couple of years, and we can hear the difference clearly. So do we think that “I don’t know when” is Celine lying to keep the date under wraps or is it the truth? Surely they must know something in terms of dates.

 

I have no clue.

One moment I think there is definitely a date known, just waiting to be announced.

And the other moment I think it's just them saying because their goal is definitely to get back on stage but they have no clue when and where.

 

The interviews were taken a few weeks ago, so her health must have definitely changed since they started filming the documentary.

But they talk about her struggles with her health, her voice, the triggers etc, but I have no idea if that is still the case, or everything is more under control now?

Ehhhhh it's you who cannot read!!!! And clearly I need to repeat myself. I never said she won't come back and that it won't be Vegas. Both have been a common knowledge as long as she is able to come back. It's just you are putting those dates there. I am not. And i don't ask for the dates, you are always saying it's going on that date, this week, around this event bla bla bla and it never happens. For me I don't want the date, the later the better, let her perform one song once, one tv performance, one concert, record an album before announcing a residency. Of course we want her back of course she wants to be back of course Resorts world wants her back but none of us has anything to say, not even Celine, it's her body and illness that dictates the conditions now. And she CLEARLY said apart from wanting to return and being on stage that her voice is not there yet and she doesn't know when. So I would repeat to you again sonthat maybe you could finally learn: yes she wants to be back, yes i want her back like all of us, yes she will be back in Vegas at some point but your timelines are not certain at all. You know nothing more.

 

And I am a very quick learner, wish u were too.
