Question: how did you do that? I started one on this yesterday but it never showed up?

Also, how do you keep editing and updating entries (like in the Links thread) long after initially posting? I’m only able to do it for a few minutes after.

In terms of new post I just used the Start New Topic button and it posts. It might be because of my status as VIP Donator gets me more access on the page I am just guessing.

On the edit button LOL not really sure cause that first topic in the Links had the edit button for a long time but now on my second post with links seems to not have the edit button.

Interestingly for those of us who wondered about the presence of Rene:

“Etonnement, René est présent dans le documentaire mais plutôt dans des photos ou archives chez elle. J'ai plutôt l'impression qu'elle a évolué et qu'elle est du côté de ses enfants, vers l'avenir, à savoir comment les accompagner.”

Kind of weird statement how else would he be in it other than pics and archives.

Here is the Interview from Figaro

Anne-Claire Coudray interviewed Céline Dion exclusively for TF1: “She had tears in her eyes all the time”

By Émilie Paul

Published 8 hours ago, update5 hours ago

Céline Dion gave an interview to Anne-Claire Coudray for TF1’s “Journal de 20 Heures”. TF1.

INTERVIEW - As part of the promotion of the documentary Je suis: Céline Dion , available June 25 on Prime Video, the Quebec singer granted an exclusive interview to the TF1 journalist. Broadcast this Sunday June 16 in the “20 hours newspaper”.

It’s a nice move on the part of TF1 ! On the occasion of the broadcast on Prime Video on June 25 of the documentary Je suis: Céline Dion , Anne-Claire Coudray spoke with the Quebec singer. This one, who is generally rare in the media and who has not come to France for several years, suffers from stiff person syndrome.

This is the reason why she gave up music but also why she agreed to confide in the journalist from the front page. An interview to discover on Sunday June 16 in the “Journal de 8 p.m.” .

TV MAGAZINE. - How did you manage to get this interview?

Anne-Claire COUDRAY. - We must return to Caesar what belongs to Caesar. Prime Video managed to make this remarkable documentary around Céline Dion. She gave carte blanche to the director [irene Taylor, Editor's note], she appears naturally in her daily life, in her fight against the illness about which we ultimately know nothing. When Prime Video looked at how they could promote this documentary, they thought of us. As much as we were delighted that they thought of us, I also think that it was a fairly rational choice. We have a very strong audience, we have the culture of major interviews (Brad Pitt, Stromae , etc.), we have received a lot of big stars so we have the right setting for this kind of talk. As she was not on a concert tour but rather in a moment of confession, the television news was also something that interested them, beyond the audience obviously which certainly played a role too.

This is the first time that Celine Dion has spoken about her illness...

She said that she had lied to herself for fifteen years. This illness showed its first signs seventeen years ago, she did not immediately understand what was happening, she wanted to hold on, to be brave. But after a while, she told herself that she had to stop because it was no longer sustainable. She also explained that she has not yet found her voice. It is this question which is obviously the most painful. She said it herself: “My voice has been the driving force of my entire life. My vocal cords have always led the way. ” She also spoke about her children and the fear she had of dying. There is her illness but also all the medications she took to counter the symptoms. She really wanted that transparency.

“She is really very sincere. I have no other word than that. "

How did the interview go?

It's surprising because she's the biggest star in the world and at the same time, she puts us at ease straight away. And since she is so transparent and so generous, it also allows us to feel good right away. Celine Dion really wanted to send messages to her French fans that it wasn't a complicated interview. We even got more than we could have hoped for because it's very complicated to have a real moment of sincerity in television and, what's more, in these communications operations. I was going to say she did the job but it's more than that. As she has always mixed everything in her life, she is truly very sincere. I have no other word than that.

How did you find her? Fragile ? Strong ?

Both, in fact. She's a fighter. She is doing much better than what she shows in the documentary where she was in a very complicated moment. And at the same time, she recognizes her weaknesses, perhaps for the first time in her life. She finally knew how to listen to herself and therefore she is unvarnished.

“Nothing was imposed on us on the issues. “

Was she emotional during the interview?

Yes, enormously and constantly. She had tears in her eyes all the time. She is whole and very expressive, which is what makes an interview with her unique. She is physically expressive in what she says, what she gives, she is constantly in emotion. We can't imagine the personal and inner earthquake that it was for her, it's a real personal questioning.

Did you discuss her presence at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games with her?

No way. We went there at the end of May and there wasn't this rumor yet. But honestly, given what she says about her work, her current therapy, that would surprise me a lot.

Did you notice the symptoms of his illness?

We see them very well in the documentary since the director was there at the time of a crisis, she is filmed in her rawest reality. When I met her, she explained to me that she no longer wears heels but flat shoes (laughs). It's not in the interview but in the discussion we had before.

“This is undoubtedly one of the great interviews of my life”

Where does the interview take place?

The interview took place at a hotel near Las Vegas, because she still lives there. We arrived in a huge American machine, it was very impressive. They had reserved an entire floor of the hotel to set up studios because American television, which had already broadcast her interview, was there too. There were very, very many of them! We didn't decide on the frame, the light, everything was obviously controlled but absolutely nothing was imposed on us on the questions. In any case, she opens up so much in the documentary that we don't imagine that there could be questions she doesn't want to answer.

How long did your exchange with Céline Dion last?

Twenty minutes and not one more! Besides, there was someone who took care of reminding us every ten minutes by making signs.

You wanted to bring her a little gift...

We wanted our moment in this great communication machine. And above all we wanted to send her a message from the French so we said to ourselves that we had to give her a gift when we said hello. But at the same time, it's absurd to give Celine Dion a gift! I had read in an interview that she dreamed of seeing the Eiffel Tower again so I thought of a small, paltry and very symbolic gift, a sort of good luck charm. It was a way to get in touch with her. It's very complicated to create relationships in such a short time and in such an impersonal place. I think we found the right solution because it was in good style, the right measure and it allowed us to introduce a little smile. And I think she was sincerely touched by this attention.

What do you remember from this interview?

It was an incredible moment because she gave so much. This is undoubtedly one of the great interviews of my life because it's doubly rare to meet someone with such notoriety and to meet someone who is willing to open up to this extent. I had this feeling with Stromae. It's not surprising that they both chose television news. Stromae explained it to me very well. When you are a star, an artist and you arrive with your discomfort and you know that we are going to talk to you about it or that you want to talk about it, the fact of choosing this framework does is not trivial. There is a solemnity unlike a show with an audience or an entertainment program. They need that solemnity at this point in their career.

I was like what they have a hologram of him or a cardboard cutout. Guess we will see what she means after watching.

Interestingly for those of us who wondered about the presence of Rene:

"Etonnement, René est présent dans le documentaire mais plutôt dans des photos ou archives chez elle. J'ai plutôt l'impression qu'elle a évolué et qu'elle est du côté de ses enfants, vers l'avenir, à savoir comment les accompagner."

As much as I know people want more presence for René in the documentary, I think it's an important step for Céline, her career, and her future reality to move forward - not to forget about him, but to allow her to step more firmly into her own agency and her own whole womanhood (in her public image - I'm sure she's been quite capable of expressing her own agency behind the scenes for a long time!). For decades the story has been about her meeting him at 12, him mortgaging his house, the evolution of their relationship, their marriage, their kids, etc., etc. - all true and important, of course, but that's no longer the sum total of her story (not that it ever was, but it was the image they cultivated).

This new evolution into Céline Dion the powerful, independent, courageous woman facing her own adversity feels so much more authentic and organic and real to me than any profession of "I'm the boss" ever did, and René has no real role in it anymore beyond background/context. Her SPS diagnosis is essentially the first major change to happen in her life that he never had any presence in or influence over, and it's good for her to claim her own identity in his absence.

doubtful. They may not even know it exists. There’s probably a higher chance of them asking about Love Again.
Posted

Yeah not the place and time.

Plus Aline came out at what was probably the height of her frustration and pain, a few months before she finally got her diagnosis. She had bigger things on her mind at the time, I'm sure.

Insterestingly, this time all interviewers are being interviewed about the conversation with Celine themselves. Good promo strategy on behalf of Prime Video! She should cooperate with them more in future

So do we think that “I don’t know when” is Celine lying to keep the date under wraps or is it the truth? Surely they must know something in terms of dates.

Of course she knows. Why do you think no act has been signed to resorts world outside of Carrie underwood ? Celine’s likely been secretly rehearsing.

A date is set - when it’s released is the secret . But it’s coming soon 😊

Anyone watching live?

It just ended

The line that stuck with me, and I paraphrase, "I deserved to belong to myself for once".

She spent so much of her life pleasing others, I'm glad she finally recognized she needed to take care of herself, too.

(Well, I guess she was forced to confront that fact.)

Oh, and she closed with “à très bientôt”!

This is a brief report they played before the actual interview. Mostly excerpts from the doc (that we’ve already seen). A bit with Irene and Dr Piquet.

Missed it. How was it?

It felt like she struggled to find her words maybe because she talked in English for most of the day. To summarize she said the same things in French. The only thing is that she is still not happy with how her voice sounds but it’s coming back little by little. They also interviewed Irene and her doctor. We also got another snippet (very brief) of the documentary.
