OMG this guy is an #ss. What falsehoods did Rene give us? As I have said everything he writes is tinged with fact he does not like Rene. So everything after he died when she was "lying" is ok to him. And of course Rene would be fine with the cameras. Did he never watch 3 Boys and a Show or the many other shows where cameras followed them. This guy is a class A jerk. And he wonders why Celine does not acknowledge him.

As much as I do love Celine she made the choices to perform and sacrifice things for that. Like seeing the world. He acts as if she was a puppet her whole life. I am sure he gets most clicks from articles on Celie and only reason anyone knows him is because of her. So I wish he would stop writing about Celine.

I think the only grooming he’s guilty of is “grooming” Celine to have the impeccable work ethic she has. They need to go somewhere.

It's probably not even worth commenting on the suggestion by some people that an ethical filmmaker-documentarian is bending the facts for dramatic effect . Exactly. Yes it is not a normal story but just because he met her at 12 and then they fell in love does not mean he "groomed" her. No wonder she never reads any thing. How sad that people can't see the love and respect they shared and focus on that.

She does not owe anyone but I do wish she would really address this, if for nothing more than for her sons who will have this follow them always.

Doesn't "Grooming" also imply that there is a history with others? to my knowledge, all of his other partners were relatively in the same age bracket as him, give or take a few years. Céline might have been the perfect storm in terms of timing but when you work closely with someone for a long time, things can change.

Look, today, I know things like this won't fly, especially under media and societal awareness that exists today, but I think we forget that the world was a different place in 1980 and that the standards we have today, didn't exist so explicitly in a male dominated, conservative and puritanical society that existed then. It's unfair to judge their relationship today, especially if Céline hasn't come out and said it affected her.

I thought I was gonna read a review about the film and I ended up reading -yet again- his opinion about Rene, their relationship and a mumbo jumbo psychoanalysis of Celine. At this point Mariah is less obsessed with the Diva's Live than he is with the 'Celine and Rene' relationship. I don't know how many times it takes for something to become boring but we have crossed that point long ago.
There are some inaccuracies there as well, eg. "But during her last world tour in 2019, a lot of shows were cancelled for vague health reasons.", there were just 3 shows that were rescheduled and happened like a month later or "with Dion frequently out of makeup on screen for surely the first time ever in public" he might want to check the Imperfections music video, the opening video of the CWT or other past videos and photos.
Last but not least, the "frankly nobody cares if she ever makes a new album at this point" remark simply shows that he has the same mentality he had 2 decades ago aka nobody in the world cares, likes or listens her music.

I’ve had the honor of meeting Rene in Las Vegas twice, , and he was the nicest, sincere man. Always asking about our experience as “fans” and what they could do better… he would hang outside the colosseum on show nights to get our thoughts. Like Celine said after he passed, her career was his masterpiece, his symphony, he truly cared about Celine and her fans and her public image in every aspect. He was the true open book and wanted us to feel included.

I always remember the interview she gave when A New Day started on Dateline with Maria Shiver and did it without makeup and Maria was so surprised. She has never been afraid to show herself without makeup.

That was evident when she cut her hair and didn’t give 2 craps what people said. Until Dave Platel told her that fans had no life other than to care about her hair because her long brown hair is the only thing “stable” in our lives that part should’ve been cut from dvd.

Honestly Dave wasn’t wrong. How many fans, even on this forum, still have PTSD about Céline’s 2003-04 haircut? A vast majority of them! Personally, I wonder if I’d like the original DVD more than the one they released … and I also think the TCWT hair (with the middle part) and the messy ANDHC promo hair were worse.

I know don't feed the trolls. I just hate that so many articles have to focus on that.

In 2003, there was a great interview on ABC at the time of the A New Day opening. In this interview she had the horrible blond hair and she and Rene promoted the AND show. When the interviewer asked Celine, what she thinks about her critics, Celine had a  f*** You moment😁. She defends herself and her fans, who love her music and buy her concert tickets. When I saw the interview for the first time, I was shocked and proud of Celine, because normally Celine and Rene always wanted a "clean" image.

That is a great interview. It is one of the more in depth interviews she has had even though not that long. One the only times talks about them sending someone to her house when she was young because the way she behaved thought she was abused.

I’ll always remember this interview and her bad #ss quote of “[they think all the people who come to see my shows and buy my albums are wrong and stupid] well if all of them are wrong, I can be wrong like this the rest of my life and I really like it”.


One of her very few DIVA moments and I love it… she also says “I’m one of the artists with the most sold albums and my shows are sold out”!! Tell

This has got to be one of the most entertaining Celine interviews EVER because of how (rightfully) upset she was!

The interviewer kept asking negative/leading questions! In less than 5 minutes, questions like:

• The hair - did you make a mistake?
  
• You like how you look?
  
• You feel you lost a little glamour?
  
• Many of your fans and MANY OTHERS were worried about you coming to Las Vegas because Rene likes to gamble!
  
• You being very thin, like anorexic - are you?
  
• Do you eat whatever you want? That's not fair!
  
• When you were 14 you stopped going to school to pursue a career...

Always loved this interview. Mostly because I cant stand Cynthia McFadden and Celine put her in her place more than once.

I think she means there is no definite medical reason why she couldn’t achieve anything she wants to achieve, as long as she works hard for it.

Dr. Piquet really seems to have an optimistic outlook on the condition in general, supporting the idea that patients can go back to doing what they love (with technically no limit as to the extent) and that disease progression is not something to worry about that much. Hopeful.
