"Love Again" movie - Official Topic

I walked by the theatre at about 7:10. Had to be somewhere else for 7:30 so couldn’t stop for long, but saw Sam and Jim being interviewed inside, and then Priyanka and Nick arrived and Sam came out to greet them outside for photos. Didn’t spot any familiar faces from Céline world (thought maybe Dave or Denis might be around), but was only there for a few minutes. It was a pretty small affair, not many people there.

And, haven’t seen any posters around town either… Isn’t this movie supposed to take place in NYC? Because ‘round here, you wouldn’t know it’s happening at all. (Citadel is still plastered everywhere though 😏) Surprised by the promo around London but none here.

 

Too bad you couldn’t go in for the screening?! Are you planning on seeing the movie tomorrow or this weekend?

Personally, I'll be waiting until Saturday to see it... and I've kept as much mystery as possible by avoiding the alternate trailers, the lyric video, and clips with Céline that weren't in the original trailer. Don't go quoting all her lines or describing the scenes (and songs) without spoilers!

It’s officially Premiere day!!!

Let’s all remember as fans, with the uncertain times … we will see Celine on the big screen and have new music! The sad part is, once this is over with it could be the beginning of the really long dry spell, so let’s just enjoy it for what it is! I’m grateful they had this in their pocket because who knows when the next time we will get music from Celine again.

Sounds to me like she doesn’t like how cheesy they’re portraying the story to be even though it appears to be based on a real, personal experience (of sending texts into the void after a loss)? And sounds like she’s disappointed that she wasn’t invited / nobody mentions the original (book and movie) it’s based on?

She’s been very happy about it when it was announced, even posted how excited she was for Celine to do the soundtrack… I think she’s mad at them not including her at all or mentioning her work or the German film!

We will wait until next week and the release of the album but if no message next Friday I unfortunately think we can expect a video message in June for the cancellation of the tour

Although it won’t take away my enjoyment of the movie and the music I do feel sorry for everyone involved to be honest.

 

Obviously the news regarding Céline’s health is the single most important thing however this project was obviously built around her and she’s been so keen to “act” for so many years. Fate has played a cruel game on her and all we can do is hope she’s living a healthy life and making progress.

 

It’s so sad to see the hype and the promo happening without her though.

I am reading on Wikipedia that the movie budget stands at $9.000.000 only. And that it is expected to make $5.000.000 in its opening weekend in the U.S.

 

That is excellent news, right? If the figures above are accurate, then its global gross at the end of its run will definitely beat the budget, no?

Small-scale premiere. Interesting. It just kind of happened out of nowhere unannounced it seems lol. They all look very nice though. Were loads of the public around -- or allowed into the theatre to watch the movie?

 

Love the photos, esp. the one where they are "kissing" Celine who would be in the middle.

It is hard to enjoy this when this was meant to be Céline's cinéma début. So unfair. All we can do as fans is support the film. Even if we're not all rom-com fans.

Ya I agree without even a video from Celine I’m very worried ..she must be so gutted by all of this. All we can do is support the film. People gotta STOP asking these actors about Céline and how it felt to work with her. I know that this is the only way they bring Céline to the movies, but look at poor Sam and Priyanka, they've given the same answer for almost a year and are now running out of words. Probably they've been told to say that by the team. Idk. It feels pressured when they talk about Céline. I fricking miss Celine

 

I mean, if you watch several interviews of Celine with different outlets promoting any one thing, she says the same things in all of them, too. The average person will see one; only die-hard fans will watch them all. Plus it's normal, and true for all of us. If you're interviewing for a job, you know more or less what you're going to be asked and have a set of prepared answers.

 

And I don't think any of their commentary is forced. But there's only so much they can say. Filming with Celine took 4 days, 2 years ago. And even if they know more about how she's doing, they clearly don't have the green light to say so.

 

I understand Team Celine not wanting to give an update. If it's positive but uncertain, don't want to give people false hope, If it's negative, don't want to give tabloids any more fodder. That said, if they do this entire LA press junket without acknowledging why Celine isn't there, it's just going to be so awkward. Giant elephant in the room.
