The Mexican singer Luis Miguel just posted this snippet on his Twitter! :o It sounds like it was recorded in the 90s to me. I wonder why he posted it now... and why the song was never released?

Yes, she recorded a duet with him in 1995. She told that in the Think Twice video Making of clip.

Yep, the video was released in August 1994 and this guy dated Mariah after the divorce from Mottola.

Yeah, the English lyrics are a bit weak and it doesn't seem like a full duet...they barely sing together, she doesn't get equal time, and she feels kind of added last minute.

 

So I can definitely see why they didn't release it...but it's so nice to hear some signature Celine stylings from that era, singing a bit more low than usual :wub:

 

I had higher expectations seeing the title because I thought it would be to the caliber that Andrea and Christina did this song (they both do it in Spanish,too!)

on saying about Julio do u know i believe in a Brazilian release of his does include a duet with Celine!! i think it's live... but i don't remember it 100% and i'm pretty surprised it's not on anywhere since it's released...

 

and for this duet well i wouldn't call it leaked cause it's Luis who posted it, but after all these years that's so cool!!!

and plz keep unreleased stuff coming !! hahahaha

Her voice sounds like today! I think that in the past he had to make a strong effort to sound high and pure in the studio, but when she cut loose she sounded like now. When I hear this song, I have the impression that recording Celines part was very rushed and doesn't sound really good. She could have made it much better. Edited by ryba

So you're saying her bad singing from the 90s is the style of singing she normally uses now?

 

Maybe what we are hearing is just a first take or demo kind of thing. The quality of audio would suggest that, right?

not bad, but without putting effort into it. It's from 1994/95 and there are songs from that time where she sounded cristal clear and completely different, because she worked on those more. This seems rushed and without effort

This makes me wonder how many songs they have in their vault that will never see the light of day. I hope someday those infamous unreleased Phil Spector tracks will leak too.

Well, I think that Sony leaked this one, since that Luis's label is sucks way behind words can tell :wacko:

He has such issues that he hadn't released new material (not coverts) almost 11 years.

I'm so grateful for this leak:)

Celine's voice is perfect for this kind of songs, love her lower register here. Same with Bewitched, bothered and bewildered. I hope we get it in better quality. The day Sony decides to release her rarities they will need a double cd at least :-D

This is such a wonderful surprise. I hope we get more leaks! I'd love for those Phil Spector to get leaked. Those are probably really good songs too!

This song reminds me of Mejor Decir Adios with Paul Anka, recorded in 1996. But MDA is a much stronger song, while this one doesn't go anywhere...

 

I thought the duet had Paul Anka vibes as well! But I had forgotten about MDA and just listened to "Hard to Say Goodbye" lol.

 

Also, in her snippet interview, Celine called Luis Miguel Spanish, when he is actually Mexican.

The solo version was included in his album named "Segundo Romance" realeased 26 years ago today. The song was a hit in Latin America as everything he did in the 80s and 90s. It's most likely his way to celebrate the anniversary.

 

Celine should join him and post it too. It can go viral.
