The obsession with this song has been quite something.

 

I personally don't get it, but I will be super happy for everyone when they get this prize of a song.

I'd be more thrilled to get Celine's version of Love Is Alive and the Phil Spector songs in HQ rather than PMLALS. :giggle:

Part of it is because someone asked celine about it on camera and we all saw her surprised reaction… that moment adds a lot to the mystery i think

I searched in FB, IG and YouTube today and I couldn’t find it, but I do remember seeing it with my own eyes. Strange it doesn’t show up with those searches, but it’s buried somewhere on the internet…

I think if I have the chance to meet Céline like Rob in the film. I have so many questions about her songs. Especially, the unreleased ones. I wonder if she remembers all of them

 

And definitely we will talk about the eyebrows LOL I really miss seeing her performing on stage. I really hope her treatments are successful.

I read the majority of posts in this topic and I can tell you it’s not Sony’s fault if tracks from the vault are not released. I would even say that it’s rarely Sony’s fault for what happened in Celine’s career, and especially with Celine who’s not a new artist (the recording label is much more powerful in that case).

 

I’ve been working in the media and with people in the music industry for almost 15 years now. And yeah, it’s an industry and we’re talking about business here. The artistic side is present of course, it leads the direction of projets etc… but when it comes to choices, business is the thing. The reason we don’t get this or that song is usually because it’s been cut off the project it was supposed to be part of. For PMLALS, we don’t really know. But we have other examples : Love is alive for ATW, Run Like a River, the English version of Laisse moi t’aimer by Mike Brant… it could be because they didn’t fit their mother albums’ direction but it may also be because of other things. Some artists (and I think Rene was used to doing it) ask producers and writers to give up a certain percentage of their rights to be on an album (so that the artist would make more money out of it). And some refuse because producing and authors rights are the things that give you the most money. So the songs don’t make it. Celine does not write or produce so it’s much harder to release them now (like Taylor Swift or Mariah Carey would do). You have so many people involved.

 

Sometimes you also have deals that are made between producers and management teams on a certain number of songs that have to be « chosen » on a project or a number of projects… I don’t say that it’s Celine’s case. What I say, is that we can’t blame Sony on this. And even when Celine dies, the unreleased songs over the years won’t come out until it’s her heirs’ decision and that everybody agrees on paying rights (full rights or negotiated rights) to producers and writers to release those songs…

 

And I think Sony does not even have the songs. I think everything is in the hand of feeling productions.

That new leak, though it sounds pretty epic, it is giving me major AI vibes, especially the outro…the technology has gotten way better rapidly. I heard Ariana Grande AI singing and couldn’t even tell until the second verse of We Belong Together Edited by stone

True, but whether it be Sony or Team Celine...they can undertake the *job* (because it is work) to sort it all out. They have lawyers, representatives, agents...they can call, email, and negotiate. The emphasis with Sony is that they're one of the biggest companies and names in music, they're the ones with the power who can get stuff done.

 

Of course, we can't crucify them over one or two things. But there's a pattern of behaviour. Finally they at least uploaded an Alternate Music Video for MHWGO after so many years. That was amazing, but it should and could have been done years ago I imagine.

The user that shared the new snippet of the song disappeared from the leaks forum. We're now back to square one wondering how and when we'll have a grip on that song.

After listening to the full version by Anastacia i would say that its better that they excluded it from the All the way album and kept unreleased! :innocent:

 

Haha yeah i don't think it would have gone well with the vibe of ATW. HOWEVER, they could have put it on a single as a B-side :P

OMG! How do people dare talk to her like that? :-D I would never ask anything from her! I would be in total awe! :mellow:

 

I remember in August 2017 when I met her, she was coming out of the Hyatt Regency Hotel and I was in the hotel entrance with other fans. Someone who had broken her leg started talking to Celine along the lines of ''You see Celine, I have a broken leg but still came to see you - can I have a photo with you?'' I found it incredibly awkward, but the trick worked cause Celine took a photo with her and then everyone else.

 

I was standing at the back smiling like an idiot as she was taking photos with fans. I did not want to do anything that would upset her. I was in a defensive mode for no reason. She looked at me, obviously read my face, and said ''come'' and then I approached her and we took a selfie together. At the end I murmured ''thank you, you are very sweet'' which I am not sure that she heard - not even sure it came out of my mouth. :giggle: Cannot remember.

 

Anyway, it is not that my behaviour is by any means the standard. :P But still I am surprised with how people would speak to her so casually!

Finally, some sense. I gave up long ago trying to outline the myriad reasons why unreleased songs go unreleased - people just want to believe that they can be released at any time and that it's just Sony and Team Céline being incompetent and for some reason intentionally depriving people of songs.

 

I'd love to have all the unreleased tracks just as much as anyone, but there are soooooooooo many legitimate business and artistic issues that can prevent their release from happening.
