Maybe the producers/directors didn’t like it? Maybe they have something else chosen for their movie? Or maybe they don’t want a Celine Dion “love theme” for their movie and instead, just want to use her old stuff.

The idea that the song was destined for the Text For You soundtrack was another idea inceptioned right here on the forum. Not saying it couldn't happen, but there's been no official indication or suggestion that it would be the case.

 

Personally, from the clip we've heard (count me as one of the people who loves it), I don't think it's an appropriate song for a lighthearted romcom. It feels more epic and dramatic garment-rending in tone than would be right for a generic meet-cute kind of movie. But then I haven't seen the movie either - maybe my perception of both it and the song is totally wrong.

 

Regardless, I want it released!

It was shared on her Instagram stories, the ones which disappear after 24hr. She appeared to be sitting in the recording studio listening to the song and completely in the mood.

Yes I think this song has the same potential as ashes, it simply captures "classic Celine" and that's what the puplic and mainly all of her fans still want the most

Maybe we don‘t need to wait for years and years. Maybe the songwriters will lose confidence in Celine‘s Team/Sony and give the song to another singer to record it. Upon release of the song it will become someone elses song and we can finally hear it.

The soundtrack of the film to be nominated for an Oscar or Grammy needs to include new songs so I hope PMLALS will be finally released with this film. It will be a terrible mistake to only include her hits on the soundtrack.

I doubt the song was originally recorded for anything other than consideration for the Courage album. If it ends up in the film (which I hope it does), it's likely they just decided when the film came about that it would be good to have a new track on the soundtrack and to promote the film, went back through the previous recording sessions for unreleased tracks, thought PMLALS worked thematically, dusted it off and polished it (if needed), and we'll hear it next year.

Based on the snippet, I personally think PMLALS doesn't fit for rom-com like IACBTM. It's too grande and has cinematic vibe just like Ashes. Can we imagine Ashes as soundtrack for rom-com like Marry Me? No. But maybe they'll surprise us since we don't know exactly what Celine's role in IACBTM. I know that Celine will be herself as mentioned in article, but we don't know how they'll incorporate the song into the movie.
