I saw American Dad tonight, the episode In Country...Club

 

 

In this episode Roger wants to see the Pay per view concert Barbra Does Celine Dion :mdr:

It was just too funny! :sofunny: :sofunny:

 

Best line is from Hayley; I don't think Barba has the reach to sing Celine's songs! :-D LOL

 

anyway this episode is the reason I just played Tell Him! :giggle:

We started to discuss this in the new album section, and I'd kind of like to continue the discussion here...

 

I've always been under the impression that the radio remix and album version of ANDHC are the same vocals, just sped up. But I want to hear what other people have to say...

 

My reason for thinking this is that:

1. In every other example of a remix that Celine has the original vocals remain, but have a new orchestral track added. Songs that are rerecorded (think Sorry for Love, Be The Man, Sola Otra Vez) are labeled "version," not "remix" (2003 Version, Japanese Version, Spanish Version).

2. In listening to the two songs, every single vocal nuance is identical. Every single tiny thing - just faster in the remix. The only difference is the ending words:

Album version, "hush now. Let the rain come down. Let the rain come down."

Remix, "hush now. hush now."

The first "hush now"s match IMO, and I think the second "hush now" in the remix sounds an awful lot like the "hush now" from the first chorus. This would be SUPER cheap and easy to do.

3. Her vocal vibrato in the remix is inconsistent with her natural vibrato. The vibrato in the remix is so much faster than in any other thing I've heard her sing. Even her wispy voice in the "coffee version" of mhwgo doesn't compare to this IMO.

4. Why would she take the time to rerecord it, when they could just speed up the other version?

 

This isn't a conversation I've ever read anyone discuss on the forum, so I figure it's about time!

- The Jerry Lewis Telethon will include also a live cut-ins tonight from Céline's show at Caesars Palace. Céline will sing "If I Could," a song she normally dedicates to her son and her parents, around 9 p.m.

 

- Céline's Official website also confirms that Céline will be making a brief appearance on the 38th Annual Jerry Lewis Telethon for Muscular Dystrophy on Sunday, August 31. Céline will dedicate a song from her show "A New Day..." to those affected by this disease. The telethon runs from Sunday, August 31 to Monday, September 1 and airs on CBS.

Random Thoughts:

 

I was listening to Céline Dion chante Noël album on my computer and realized the following:

 

1. "Petit Papa Noël" was the chipmunks version and not the original 1981 version

2. "J'ai vu maman embrasser le Père Noël" was not Celine but some other singer

 

Did anyone encounter the same thing? :cry:

I had that on video tape, the original airing of it. No idea where it's at now and I have no means of transferring it to a DVD.

I was wondering if anyone had some information on some performances I've been looking for. Many of these appear to be from events where there may/may not be footage from. So it'd be nice to know if anyone knows whether or not there is indeed some footage. Additionaly, I'd like to know if these are actually live. If I find out they're lipped, I'll just stop wasting my time on looking for that performance. Thanks.

Do the mp3 versions of "Petit Papa Noël" (original 1981 version) and "J'ai vu maman embrasser le Père Noël" exist? It seems like floating links of the Céline Dion chante Noël album have wrong mp3s. I never heard of these two Celine songs and I've been looking everywhere for them but I have no luck in finding those two songs. Does anyone know where to find them? Many thanks in advance! Is there an "English" equivalent to "D'Elles"? I know "Taking Chances" was released around the same time but I want to know if there is an English equivalent as far as musicality, quality,"feel" ( I hope my question makes sense) to the "D'Elles" album.

 

I know the songs were all written by women, but thematically, what is "D'Elles" about? Perhaps if I understood French, I could probably figure it out, but I don't. Could someone inform me please? :)

If i were to buy the french DVDs like Sur Les Plaines and D'elles; would they have a English subtitle option? I really want to get them, but I don't speak French.

I'm pretty sure Les Plaines doesn't have subtitles. I don't think they've made a version that does. On the original DVD that you can buy in any store, there aren't any. I'd be really surprised. Sorry... :shy: Edited by c'line-rc

They're worth having even if you don't understand French! The Sur Les Plaines show is great :yes:
