In France, Céline’s new album “Encore un soir” is certified Diamond with over 500,000 units sold (Physical + Download + Streaming).

The single “Encore un soir” is also certified Platinum for its equivalent combined sales (Download + Streaming) of 20,000,000 units.

And in Jan 2018, DIAMONG for (Download + Streaming) of 35,000,000 units https://drive.google.com/file/d/1QplcYZsfOCMMBGJajHG7UJHMsMDs8Muk/view?usp=sharing

From Billboard, 60 million albums sold in 30 months ( 1 album sale every 1,2 seconds)

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1s8PGagyTYJsA-5evh-jzc50-7rKNO1OP/view?usp=sharing

In October 1998, Billboard magazine reported that Céline had sold 60 million albums in 30 months,

which corresponds to saying that every 1.2 seconds one of her albums was sold worldwide.

No artist has achieved such a feat before Céline and to this day no other has achieved it.

If we add up the 30 million Titanic soundtrack albums sold at the time,

Céline was responsible for selling 90 million albums in 30 months.

Celine has 65 million records certifications at RIIAA

But, She has a lot of records in another albums and home videos.

OMG! You do not get it, do you?

These are not sales! For example, EUS (single) did NOT sell 35m in France. These are its streaming numbers!

Look at how the system works: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SNEP

You get 1xDiamond in France for SALES of 250.000 or (in other words) streams of 35m. Duh!

Man, you’re so wrong in this. Be more careful in your reading. You’re comparing streams with equivalent sales.

The numbers presented of Taylor is measured in sales, after converting streams into sales units. The number you showed of Celine (35m) is presented as streams. You need to choose one and convert the other in order to properly equate them.

Your confusion might come from the fact that SNEP, contrary of the rest of the music industry, decided after 2018, they will base their certification on streams figures, so any digital or physical sales is now converted into streams.

While countries like US is converting streams into sales units, SNEP is converting sales units into streams.

Yes, 35 million is the STREAMING numbers. Why bring them up when we talk SALES? Edited by LukeD

The information on the Celine Dion website is CORRECT. The way you make sense of the information is WRONG.

Because you confound streaming numbers with sales. EUS was streamed 35m times, but it SOLD 250.000.

The information on the Celine Dion website is CORRECT. The way you make sense of the information is WRONG.

Because you confound streaming numbers with sales. EUS was streamed 35m times, but it SOLD 250.000.

My information about this came from the official website, where it says Platinum for 20,000,000 units (in 2016)

And in 2018, DIAMONG single for 35,000,000 units.

Today, most people don't buy, they listen, stream the music. Therefore, everything that is converted into units is equal to the equivalent sales stream.

But until this is clarified, no problem, we will not add the single Encore un soir.

So..

212 million (Philipines)

172 million (Indonesia)

50 million albums Europe (2003)

65 million certifications in the EUA

499 million with just 4 informations smile.png

But in french version of the same news, in the official site, It's speak about sales:

23 Novembre, 2016

The album “Encore un soir” is certified as a Diamant album in France with more than 500,000 albums sold (physical copies, download and streaming).

The single “Encore un soir” was certified Platinum single for the equivalent of more than 20,000,000 cumulative sales (Download + Streaming).

The 35m are in reference to the streaming numbers, you clueless buffoon! Same goes for the outrageous numbers you brought in relation to the Philippines and Indonesia!

You are not only deluded as f***, having no idea about music markets AND spreading misinformation to the forum, you are also stubborn and do not want to learn.

I will also say this, although we love Celine for singing her ballads, I feel like being known for ballads has also restricted her popularity in the modern age. With the exception of Adele, ballads arent as popular anymore, and most people I know want to hear upbeat songs, especially when hanging with friends. We all know Celine has her upbeat songs too, but they (for the most part) either werent promoted as much, or werent as successful as her ballads. Ive been pleasantly surprised by how big Im Alive has ended up being through the years, especially since it never even made it onto the Hot 100 when it was released. Of course, this is my viewpoint from the U.S., and it may be different internationally, but thats why I feel like she may not be as streamed as much as her peers.

The fact she is not being streamed that much is also her songs aren't added on the popular lists.

She is definitely known for her power ballads, and people aren't always in the mood for that

If she had some easy listening, rnb like songs back in the 90s those songs would be on so much playlists.

Just look at the songs from Mariah and Whitney from the 90s.

I definitely think there is a new love for the 'old divas' these days there aren't many left, and especially artists like Celine.

I think Celine can definitely bring out an album that would be played when hanging out with friends, as long as it is coherent and she sounds like herself. :giggle:

I agree! And with her random public appearances and fashion outfits lately, I feel its been more exciting to see what she will do next and I think that has made the public more interested. Shes no longer as predictable as when she was just performing in Vegas every night. For instance, if you look at all her YouTube uploads in the past 2 months, they all have over 500,000 views. More quickly accumulating views than she used to. Plus, shes streaming the best she ever has so far on Spotify. By the end of the month, I expect her to have the most monthly listeners that she has ever had. And maybe her highest artist placement in the world too on Spotify (I think she peaked in the top 200 before). However, yesterday, I believe she gained like 700,000 new listeners in one day!

Didn't knew her numbers were still going up on Spotify.

I remember seeing a big increase when Set My Heart On Fire was released.

I remember taking a screenshot on May 3rd, she had 13.758.981 listeners, within like a month she gained 3 millions listeners just because of SMHOF.

That was just evidence that with the right song, on the right playlists people find their way to Celine.

Also the documentary, the Olympics played a part as well later on.

They seem to be aware on what's going on the socials, this past week they added I Love You on some playlist, just because the love for it on TikTok got noticed.

So if they step up that game a bit more it can do wonders.

I truly think they also miss out on Christmas, we need some new songs an EP would be good enough. Or add them to TAST as another special special edition.

Yep that is SOOOO TRUE about her team being more active on social media these days, that truly does makes a HUGE DIFFERENCE in these modern times.

I mean lets face the facts, whether we all like social media or not, pretty much ALMOST EVERYBODY USES IT!! Almost everybody out there nowadays has AT LEAST one social media account, & that is why most singers, actors, writers, athletes, models, influencers, businesses, companies, etc... use social media to give out news & information, as well as to advertise about products, services to sell, etc... Like it or now, social media & the internet is one of the most common tools for communication, & like I said, pretty much almost everybody uses it & we all know that its not going away anytime soon!!

Yesterday watching my boyfriend's spotify Wrapped, it appeared a clip of her most listened artist saying hello and thank you... unfortunately I use my spotify for my store and there I only listen jazz so my top artists are dead..haha.. but my fifth more listened was of course Celine.... I'm pretty sure there is more than one in here that is the top one.. do you know if Celine has recorded also a thank you message?

I don't think so, because she was my number 1 (duh) and I got a message from my number 2. :( Now I don't know if she asked and refused... or that she wasn't ask. But they could have easily recorded a message when she did that Alexa play Hymne A L'Amour video....

Thank you for sharing. :flowers:

Amazing numbers!! This month, Céline is going to break her own record for the most streams ever.

It is clear that she needs Sony to promote her songs well on the platforms and her future albums.

I will say it again, I really miss Tommy Mottola. He and Rene did their best to promote Céline. Sometimes I've been watching the Sony CEO's posts and if I'm not mistaken on very few occasions he has posted anything about Céline. I've seen a few likes and that's it.

Céline is a megastar and Sony has nothing of interest in that regard.

Hopefully AEG Live will make changes and can be Céline Dion's exclusive record label. It's all about negotiating, agreements, a business deal and I have to admit that this is the best team Celine has at the present time, personal and professional support.

They will do great things in the future. If some artists have created their own label, I don't see it impossible for AEG to run their entire label.

Again, thank you so much for posting every day. Good job as always and I appreciate that. :)

Greetings and many kisses to you all.

Be well
