It’s held it’s own for a while and it is going to at some point...

For me it's still doing quite well. Considering it's Celine we're talking about, being 17 WW after more than 3 weeks is amazing. Even Christina, who released three songs in the last month, and is 15 years younger, it's out of the top 40 with the three of them, after performing one at BMA's. So, Celine being #17 without promotion is pretty good. And also remember that yesterday was Friday and new music was released, so it's normal that Ashes' sales decreased a little.

Remember also that before the movie premiere the song had fall to... like, 70 or lower, and then went back to top 10 and stayed for several days. So, I hope it goes up again after a few days, or at least stay top 20. Maybe I'm too optimistic, but anything can happen.

YouTube views are still going up .... LMBTL video performance is stuck on 10million.... Ashes is going up quickly right now.... no need to panic....

 

If the song left every chart tonight and had no more views, I believe it is already well known and has had some success... everyone I know has heard it... she is no longer just the MHWGO lady

Can we give it a rest already?

 

This is art, not a competitive sport. Can we not just enjoy it for what it is and stop obsessing about hourly iTunes updates and radio plays, and YouTube views and chart positions?

 

What is all that stuff supposed to signify, anyway? Because I can say with reasonable certainty that maybe 5% of music I care about actually charts anywhere so... why should it matter? It's certainly no barometer of quality nor a source of new music discovery for myself or most people I know.

 

That, plus it certainly doesn't seem to be any barometer of Celine's ability to do very well as a live performer and have a healthy career, so why should she care?

I completely get you but I think it’s the pure excitement ..... that’s what I’ve been feeling... I’ve enjoyed it having success... something most of us never thought could happen again. There is no harm in fans wanting that :)

We're enjoying it and are obsessing about it. It's a combo :) Common, there are forums just for the charts and fans of all artists are doing this. We like it :)

100 % agree. It has nothing to do with a comparison. This would be a paradox. Simply put, there is nobody like her. But it was and still is wonderful to see how Ashes did fantastically on the charts worldwide. And if she is not on the charts anymore, well then it was an exciting journey....with a precious gift at the end...proud to be a part of it and share my passion with all of you ^_^

It depends if you refer to 3 day weekend: predictions were 53-56, or 4 day weekend where initial prediction were 65-67 (boxofficemojo).

Saying that that the movie fails to reach 2nd weekend goal would not be surprising, the opening was not stellar (steap decrease day-to-day).

It will not match Deadpool 1 figures. Reason I suppose why the song does not chart higher: instead of culture phenomenon which was Deadpool 1, Deadpool 2 is a classic blockbuster, sandwiched between 2 other other: Avengers before, and now Solo.

Yep, and actually the videoclip success (relatively in Céline's terms, and not in absolute figures), the press and coverage she receives over 3/4 weeks, all the reaction videos and covers from millenials put her back on the map. So this was a good marketing push for Céline's brand too.

Plus there is still hope she can promote the song on TV after the Vegas run. The demix was unexpected, so maybe there are some other surprises ^_^
