I think Céline likes to be 'disconnected' because social media is where 'regular' life and stardom would constantly intersect and blend together. When you're on Twitter or Instagram, you become a celebrity all the time.

 

It's very clear that Céline likes those two spheres to stay separate. It's probably also the reason why she still is the sane, down-to-earth woman that we all know and love.

 

Secondly, I see loads of 'casual' fans on FB/Insta/Twitter guessing which song she's rehearsing. So obviously, they DO NOT all know that it's gonna be FIY.

It's still a nice teaser for the 98% of fans who don't check up on her every move.

It's also a bomb photo that probably just needed a caption...

I have no idea why they think the fans are a bunch of dummies. When Celine decided to do those two shows of dress rehearsals, did they really for once believe the FAKE saying that “what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas”? Anyone in the world who gives a crap knows it was FIY.

 

Sometimes it seems like they are still stuck in 1997, when cell phones and social media didn’t exist. They could catch up with the times any minute now!

 

I had to reply to the pic on Twitter and let them know that it was already spoiled for us since they performed in Vegas, no surprises there.

We don't have to know when Celine is sipping tea at home watching the hockey game. Yet it would be nice for her to post work/business related stuff. I don't think the two worlds need to interact in order to be on social media.

I so agree. She has said many times that when she is home she is dedicated to her family and only her family. When she is a performer she is dedicated to her job. She never mixes her two worlds. Remember 'no show biz in the house.' As for the photo a lot of people have no idea about FYI. ( only her die hard fans)

Exactly, not everyone going to the tour saw the last couple of Vegas shows, or are on here! Lol

Social media isn't for everyone, and it clearly isn't for Celine. I don't understand why some here are trying to force it on her.

So Cher is active on twitter, okay, that's fine. Celine isn't Cher.

 

It would be nice for her to be interactive on social media with fans or for someone to show Celine the pros of being active but it's totally fine if she's not. It's not going to make or break her career, it's something that is more for us than for her. There are a lot of downsides to twitter that I wouldn't want her to experience, I've seen several crazy and intense fans there that I wouldn't want her to be exposed to, and especially the non fans who get a kick out of sending hate to celebrities. Fans can be a bit too demanding sometimes and perhaps it's best she keeps away from that enviornment. Like when she tweeted that cheeky reply about the "yeezy remix", wow, some of the tweets she got from fans were too much and I was surprised it was from her "fans". It's a good thing she probably doesn't read her mentions.

 

Besides, she's already on twitter when she didn't have to be and uses it when she needs to. She and her team have been pretty active this month.

 

Another thing is that she might not be interacting with her fans on social media but there is no doubt that she cares and loves her fans a lot. She wouldn't be doing shows in Vegas or touring if she didn't. Her love for her fans is in the way she talks with them during shows, she wants to make her audience (fans) laugh, she'll "make time" for someone that got up to use the bathroom so they don't miss any song, or invite them to shake her hand if they did something that amused her, or having a warehouse where she keeps all fan gifts she's gotten through the years, or even taking a few to tours with her, stopping her car to take pictures and give autographs, etc. She shows her investment in fans in different ways than just being on twitter.

She is an open book and I think she should adapt with “open book” for this era.... she should do a lot of social media engagement herself... kinda IG Story backstage or in dressing room. At home with her kids.... thats the real “Open Book”.....

Posting in social networks must come as something NATURAL and for FUN for the artist in question. If she/he feels obliged to do so then there’s something wrong or he/she hasn’t understood the purpose of sharing with fans in that way.

 

No one is forced, true. But don’t make the activity look as something stressful or dull because that’s just ludicrous. Look for another more founded excuse LOL

I posed a question on the wrong discussion. I was wondering where was the media hype to her arrival?? Usually someone out there posts photographs of her arrival at the airport, the hotel, going to rehearsal, etc....I haven't seen anything. Anyone else know of some info?

I just don’t think there will be as many paparazzi around her as what we’re used to in Paris and the fans probably don’t know where she’s staying so I don’t think we’ll get anywhere near as many sightings as we’re used to.

 

My guess is she’s already arrived and lying low until she gets used to the huge time difference of + 16 hours. Pepe and Veronic have arrived but not seen anything from any band members etc. I would imagine she’ll be rehearsing tomorrow.
