I thought it'd be good to have a topic to discuss the U.K shows and any info on upcoming promo and 'Brand Céline' marketing while she's here 😀

 

I hope she does Jonathan Ross again or Graham Norton- she was on Graham's Radio 2 show back in 2008 for TC promo so it'd be good to get her singing on his show and I think they'd be funny.

Someone at work told me the other day that they had heard there was an interview with her coming up on Radio 2. They listen to Radio 2 all day at work. It seemed plausible as they then told me it was with Steve Wright which would be her usual choice.

 

Anyone know any more about this?

Sony UK don't have any promo for Celine scheduled when she's here during the tour.

 

She may do a "this morning" or "gmb/Lorraine" interview that the promoters have arranged, but don't expect anything more as my Sony UK contact confirmed last month.

 

Shows & album/singles are handled completely differently.

I expect that she will do some, just like with LMBTL

I pushed them to reconsider as the album is due out late this year and with her Vegas schedule for early 2018 she wouldn't have time to come back for promo then and summer 2018 would just be too late to then do promo for an album.

 

I did suggest she pre-record ahead of the first single/album release but even then it's difficult as certain big shows only air at certain times of the year.

 

A huge opp would be judges houses for xfactor as they normally film in mid/late August and she could film on location in Europe or they could go to her in Vegas and then maybe do an exclusive first performance of her new first single as it then airs around early October!

why are you not her manager? haha.

The idea of them going to vegas is good although it is not getting away from the fact that it is vegas.....and im pretty sure the whole aim of this album is to get as far away from the vegas vibe as possible as its supposd to be fresh, new, experimental. I dont want it tarnished with the vegas brush haha. Hopefully if it is actually good music, itll get noticed without her having to be here.

I think she still has booking agents to get her on shows -- with a career as complex as Celine's, she has many, many people working for her. I'm pretty sure her agent is still Rob Prinz, who she's worked with at least since '97, when she named him in her Grammy speech (I may or may not have memorized all the names in that speech because I've watched that awesome video at least 10,000 times). But she was still with Rob Prinz in 2016. when this article came out: http://www.billboard.com/articles/business/7358123/rob-prinz-icm-partners-co-head-of-worldwide-concerts-from-the-desk-of -- and I'm pretty sure that Rob spoke at Rene's celebration of life. (Actually, it looks like Rob is her booking agent for concerts. Not sure if that includes TV appearances. But I imagine it's him or someone similar -- not the person in Rene's or Aldo's position).

 

I think the day-to-day stuff like TV show bookings is still getting done -- she just doesn't have someone in charge of the overall strategy. I imagine they have someone who is serving as an interim manager -- and, for all we know, she's already working with a new manager and they haven't announced it yet (I don't think they announced Aldo right away after the decision was made, did they?)

Yeah bizarre how time flies!!

Still feel like last week her tour in 2016!

 

I get that they take time with her new record,but promotion wise it was better to release it now.

We will see what they will do next year.

I think she could still do a lot of TV shows/interviews in UK without promoting anything. The TV shows will do anything to get the views. And they know since she sold out the shows in UK quickly that they will get a lot of viewing.

And if she is performing on tv, she will most likely perform some of her popular songs that the general audience knows.

Sony have nothing to do with Vegas shows or tours... only singles/albums/music videos and they arrange promo for those.

 

Which means they've been pretty idle in the last 3 years, particularly during the (nonexistent) promotion of the EUS album right? :giggle: :P Couldn't say that they have had a pile of work on their table with Céline lately :innocent:

I think she won't do nothing.

 

It's a heavy schedule she has.

 

And the ones who want her to do a lot of stuff will be the ones who will complain when she ends the tour with no voice.

 

Plus there's absolutely no need to book slots on TV shows for this year if she has to do them again when the album's out.

Yeah in Wembley stadium and she said recently that she hates touring and this might be it for a while as far as touring goes.

 

And as far as I'm aware Celine has never seen her live and it's only a short car journey from her hotel, so I reckon chances are high C will attend!
