So someone said in the news thread that Céline will be on the today show to talk about the voice on the 26th... maybe she's gonna be a judge or a extended mentor... I'm so curious now!!! Edited by Ronny83

would be great... this and Beauty and the beast.. :wub: extended mentor would be great, i don't see her as a judge.

Yes it would be amazing!!! But yeah I don't see her as a judge. I see maybe extended mentor on Gwen's team since she's going on the today show with her. I bet it'll be a satellite appearance since she's in Vegas!

Haha. She couldn't possibly be a judge. Celine just loves everybody! It would never work! 😊

 

Not a fan of these shows, but I suppose it's good publicity.

That's just what I told my mom!! My mom immediatly said "oh no, she won't be a judge. She can't train people and she's too busy to worry with that!" And I agree. A mentor isn't as challenging and time consuming.

But she would:

1 - cry every single time

2 - liking everybody

Most of the singers that have gone there or the likes of these music contests it's because her glory days are gone (Mariah, Christina...) :down:

Not every one, Miley Cyrus was there, but maybe her glory days are alreaydy there, or just ordinary days :giggle:

Mentor is so much better, we'll have Celine talking about technicality, about voice training, we'll find out her tricks, just pure music conversation... it will be much different then the usual conversation about love, family, children ...

I think is not only a thing about glory days artists... it's a kind of new promotion way for traditional artists.. haha... always casually this coaches, mentors etc... release a new album near the time they are on the tv show... so Celine new english album, new soundtrack, new show collaboration....Aldo is playing hard.. let's see what happens...

In other way I'm really interested in one more important thing... I guess they usually don't make an entourage working there but I'm curious about Celine working with the coaches... specially Alicia Keys (by the way HERE is one of her best albums since years) and Gwen Stefani... with Celine... strange couple... what could be their conversations? I wish I have a cam there... haha

Yeah, with you on that....plus these shows are just getting old and tacky. BUT, she's been showing up on them on and off for years, and we're talking about an artist with a top-grossing tour worldwide last year (in French, no less!), not to mention the residency she continues to sell out after all these years. I don't think there's any danger of her resorting to these shows purely for publicity. I DO think Celine genuinely sees some value in them given how instrumental things like Eurovision or Yamaha Song Contest were in her career.

 

I don't watch these things myself, but curious what comes of this as I do quite respect Gwen Stefani. Always loved her version of the Elvis Costello classic, Almost Blue.

 

And still hoping Celine might one day sing it... such a stellar song.
