Thoughts and prayers to all those affected by last nights terrible events in Manchester

This could have easily been any artists concert at any venue around the world.

 

The o2 in London has pretty good security checks for getting into the actual arena section of the o2 but... to get into the the o2 as a venue security is not that tight at all...

 

They have scanners just as u come in the main entrance but very rarely used from what I have experienced and as far as I'm aware unlike the arena in Manchester due to its layout it has less entry/exit doors from the venue itself which lead to the tube station/car parks, but hopefully the U.K. now ups security at event nights at arenas and stadiums...

 

But either way, I made plans for this months ago like 1000's of other Celine fans and I can't bloody wait to see her here again... we carry on!

The security will be tighter. This is the second time they attack at a concert (that I remember). Once in Paris and now Manchester. It's clear that they are seeking venues like concerts or where there is big crowding. They will need to step up the security.

And what's is it I saw about the Police been warned hours before the attack that the arena would be attacked??

 

And you are correct, it could be any concert. I feel for Ariana, and I feel for the fans. This must be so terrible. My thoughts are with the family and friends of the people that lost their life or were hurt.

 

But I'm seriously looking forward to the concerts this summer! And yes life goes on, that's one way we can fight those terrorists, show them that we can move forward.

Oh I'm totally going to be outside Célines hotel. I can't wait to get a glimpse of her there and hopefully a selfie or an autograph. But I've also been thinking that it's a big security risk and it's in the middle of a street.

But maybe this time they will take her straight to her car and forbid her walking to the fans. If so, then I wont be there just for a few sec. Been there, done that in London.

I've been to Paris and seen most of what I want to see. Not going to be spending all my time in front of her hotel but some.

I was in Paris previous year in Octobre and felt absolutely safe.

 

I travel to Paris due to work monthly, for the past 5+ years and have noticed a huge decrease in safety.

After Celine's concert from June last year, I took the metro back to the hotel and I regreted doing so! It was such a terrifying experience to travel this way after 11pm! My hotel was is in the airport area, so I ended up being the only woman onboard ; I won't detail now the horrific events; I remember thinking that taking the night bus in London was way more reassuring...Europe as we knew it is gone and I fear for the worst in the near future :/

Not sure how credible this is though, it says Ariana Grande hasn't cancelled her tour but she has now officially put it on hold indefinitely and returned home to the US. I don't think Celine will cancel shows in light of this but regarding Manchester...we have no idea yet when the arena will reopen so possibility this one won't go ahead but I hope I'm wrong.

Exactly. And these morons who do these things go on the element of surprise. People will be more aware at concerts etc over the next few months and that's exactly what these dickheads don't like or want.

I can only see the Manchester shows being cancelled or postponed for reasons as you said earlier- structural reasons etc. Well know over the next week or so if the Manc shows will go ahead.

She won't cancel and I'm sure as the venue is reopened, the shows will go on. Manchester is resolved to not cancel anything so I'm pretty sure as soon as they can sort damage and fulfill all the police investigations and forensic stuff, it'll be open asap.

I hate to be a downer but these "security" checks are a joke and they (the terrorist) know it. Over here, take at her show for instance, or a ballgame, the door people do a quick check of a woman's purse as the crowd keeps moving forward. So you have some 20 or 25 year old, or any age, checking for explosives and such at the door? please! What type of training do they receive? Sorry but I don't see a quick end to it. This may only be my view but it's the way I see it. I really am not a' "sky is falling" type of person but please be safe.

 

I really do hope all of yall that go have a wonderful time but please be safe and know your exit options.

I agree and I hope she doesn't cancel her concerts because I spent a lot of money on plane and hotel (If I may think about myself) and also if artists decided to cancel shows/concerts, then the terrorist would have won a huge victory and I can't imagine life without entertainment of some kind.

Seeing that ISIS might target Vegas made my heart skip a few beats. I would rather have security everywhere than having to be afraid all the time.

 

The security in DC museums is big! they check everything. They should be able to do the same at concerts! We should actually demand that they do that and also secure the crowds while leaving the concerts.

You are absolutely right for bringing that up. That's why I'd never say Muslims did this or that. It was ISIS/terrorists.

And it has also turned out that those terrorists that are saying they are doing this in the name of Allah aren't really religious at all. Like some of the men in Belgium and France. Their friends and family were surprised that they did it in a name of a religion since they weren't religious at all. I think it's an excuse for them.

These horrible people in ISIS, are not true followers of their religion. They are extremists. We have Christian extremists as well. In fact most terrorist attacks on US soil were carried out by white extremist Christian males. The problem with this world is that so many of us take cultural aspects of a certain people and lump it all together and create in our minds that in that culture lies only one type of person. For example: ISIS = Muslim, therefore Muslim = Evil. This is absolutely not the case! This is the mentality that made Donald Trump our President. It's absolutely sickening.

 

I just want you to know, Luki...that the good people of Muslim religion...of any religion. Any race, gender, nationality...has me as an ally. As a brother. As a hand to hold and a shoulder to cry on. We are all the same Race. The human race. ❤❤❤
