I saw Celine at that same arena in 1996. Best moment of my childhood.

Most of the people there for Ariana's concert were kids, for Heaven's Sake! Who ever does such a thing!!!???

 

I guess we'll get extra security for all concerts now...

I am heartbroken today. I've lived in Manchester for 12 years and unfortunately knew that this day would come.

I heard an interview with one woman with her daughter at the concert. She said there was no security. Some guys checked her handbag to see if there was a glass bottle in it. That was all.

 

They have to step up the security. I'm thinking that they will check EVERYTHING from here on and that's good.

I'm really worried for her concerts during the tour. I just hope there's extra security and checks in every entrance of each venue and that they don't take anything for granted! It's clear these animals don't respect anything, even a concert whose main public is teenagers

I don't think governments are dealing with these terrorist attacks / Isis enough !! We need armed police everywhere now !! They need to be on view ..... I can't believe there was such little security at that event last night ..... Things need to step up in Europe ASAP to deal with these crazy isolated events !! We need action ...... Armed police need to be seen in European airports , we have to stop pretending we can continue living our lives normally anymore , it's different now because there are freaks isolated all over the place , I just think countries are not doing enough or rising to it , something had to be done now , it's happening way too much . 😥

My mind is also on the Paris concerts I'll attend this summer.

 

I had planned to rush out to TRY to catch her in the Hotel when she arrives. Slim chance though since she always rushes out to beat the traffic.

 

I think I'll stay behind a bit at Bercy and wait for most of the crowd to leave before I head out. Maybe I'm being paranoid but this is my thought right now.

Might change once I'm there.

 

I just can't get this out of my head. I saw that Ariana has cancelled the rest of her European tour. I hope she changes her mind once she's recovered from the shock. I can just imagine what she's going through right now. But I hope she continues the tour so that these evil people won't win. They want to create fear, and we can't let that happen!

I have to disagree on that, I'm sorry. Governments take great advantage of the fear, so they can invest more in security, this means, much more in weapons and at last much more in war. War is a business and we're facing now the consequences of a non-sense war that started back in 2003 (even earlier). There's no real political will in stopping this, because they can take advantage of it, and actually is a great excuse to have more control of the population —that finally is starting to realize how this shitty world works—. Apart from that, we shouldn't be selfish, and we should also have in mind all those victims of the wars that the "Western-Modern-Civilized" world has created in favor of its own interests. All those refugee that are wandering towards Europe, within, and all of those who have drowned in the Mediterranean world.

 

Yes, it is really sad, and terrorism sucks and has to be condemned but the problem is really complex, and we should have a wider view of it. As the Chinese proverb says, "When a wiseman points at the moon, the fool looks at his finger" and the media and governments really know where do they want us to look at... At the same time, I perfectly understand your point of view and I think it's natural to feel that way.

 

However, we shouldn't be paralyzed by fear and we have to keep on going with our life. Probably, once we're in Céline's concert next summer, we'll all think about that, but we have to enjoy, don't let them to overcome us.

 

My thoughts are for all the victims, their families, the audience who were there and had to experienced such a horrible moment and for Ariana and her crew. :flower:

Can't agree any more with this. I'm already looking forward to my trip to Paris. I was in Paris previous year in Octobre and felt absolutely safe. On every corner are security people who are watching everything over. I LOVE Paris.

The Express is reporting that Manchester Arena is likely to close for the forseeable future. Take That were due to play there on Thursday and Friday and it's expected that these dates will be cancelled. We'll just have to wait and see what Céline's team will do...

But from what I've heard, Ariana had absolutely no security. When I saw Céline EVERYBODY went through at least one security checkpoint, sometimes 2. So I'm not worried about Céline, really.

Is it up to the performers people to provide and control the security at these events?

Should it not be government ?Will they get involved now and make it a necessity to have security to such a standard.....

Sad that we live in a world where these terrible things happen.

 

But the best thing we can do is to go on living our lives. There are SO MANY good people in this world. Focus on and celebrate that.

 

Upping security is the answer to keeping concerts / other big events safe.

Not so long ago i attended a concert here in Ziggodome but the security was bad. I mean, did not check my bag at all. I had a photocamera with me. But what if someone took something bad in the bag. I am in for a airport security with rõntgen scanner!

When seeing Celine, whether it be in North America or Europe, the venue always had metal detectors and would search bags. Nothing is ever 100% secure, but that should ease your mind. But outside the venue is another story. Just remain Vigilant and always be aware of your surroundings.

I imagine fans lining up outside Celine's hotel is an annoying security threat for the police and Celine's security. Frankly there's better things for people to do than praying to get their D'eux album signed and you'll be seeing her at the show...when she's at work.Some fans live for these moments, but it nauseates me to think people are missing the splendors of Paris in hoping to see a makeupless Celine enter a building. For the love of god, you're in Paris!

Oh I'm totally going to be outside Célines hotel. I can't wait to get a glimpse of her there and hopefully a selfie or an autograph. But I've also been thinking that it's a big security risk and it's in the middle of a street.

But maybe this time they will take her straight to her car and forbid her walking to the fans. If so, then I wont be there just for a few sec. Been there, done that in London.

I've been to Paris and seen most of what I want to see. Not going to be spending all my time in front of her hotel but some.
