I was watching a stream tonight and I noticed for the first time that near the end of `The Color of my love ` they put up a picture of her and Rene. The same one that they used last year at the end of the shows on tour. So nice to see!

You and I both know they won't cut "Love Is All We Need" just so she can sing "Refuse To Dance" in full. They'll do it "for time" or some other lame excuse.

 

"Love Is All We Need" really could be an amazing moment in the show if Celine would just dedicate herself fully to the song. That means singing the second verse, not just wandering the stage during the song, removing the wannabe M.J. stuff, and Scott boosting its tempo up a bit. Plus, better visuals would help, too. Your comment about adding choreography is something I thought of as well, but it won't happen.

 

There is a lot I like about this tour (eg. "That's The Way It Is" being sung in full), but there is a lot which could be worked on. However, due to the short amount of time the tour has, especially when compared to the length of the "Taking Chances World Tour," I just don't see them making any changes to it unless it's to cut songs.

Yes, I do not think it is possible to have a full version of RTD. And I as well doubt there will be changes to the songs she is performing at the moment. The best we can hope for is that they include a song they have already rehearsed, but - for whatever reason - haven't used yet. I'm basically trying to focus on the fact that were minor additions to her shows in Canada last year and, in that sense, there might be room for improvement. Well Celine is a theatrical performer! Maybe she does attempt to get in character after all. By the way, IMO what I said before is not even subjective. I think we all hear a HUGE difference in her vocal approach when she sings RTD and then LIAWN!

 

And, to be honest, the most underwhelming performances during these concerts were Taking Chances, Loved Me Back To Life, Love Is All We Need and LCMM/RDMH of course. Not saying they were bad, they were good, just not up there with the greatest performances of this tour. I feel like she is nailing every other song!

 

For the most part “every other song” are the standards and have either been performed in the current Vegas show and/or “A new day” and/or the TCWT. I wish she would give the lesser sung songs a chance. Cutting THLAL and Misled after ONE show was a mistake. It’s been 20 years since she touched those! It’s obviously going to take time for her to feel comfortable with them and get in a groove... I remember the first few shows of the tour last year, she was not comfortable with “Tous les blues,” “Ce soir on danse,” and some others, and after a few shows, they were highlights and she was killing it!

 

If she sang THLAL and interacted with the crowd and got them to stand up and dance and then go into Misled, like she does in Vegas, with crowds that are sometimes half comatose, they could’ve worked. I don’t think they really gave those two songs a shot.

I feel like I'm the only one who likes LIAWN but anyways I completely understand what you guys mean, but I do kinda like the way she performs it. Call me crazy here but it's very different from the studio version, gives it new life. I have been waiting sooooooooo long to hear that song and I'm so glad she does it now. Almost makes it new in a way that she does it differently, it's the icing on the cake for me!

I adore refuse to dance and adored the performance tonight, but I have to say I really didn't think the chorus (the words 'refuse to dance') sounded right at all to me in such a high key compared to on the album version

So, re-reading these reviews from last night, it seems the only one that's less than positive is the Telegraph. As for everything else...has she ever been reviewed this well? And same on Twitter (basically universal awe and love) and same on Instagram. (The best are always the reactions from those who got free tickets one way or another or got dragged along, only to realize "wait, hold on, how did I miss this all along?" or the "I had no idea she was so funny" reactions).

 

Funny thing is, it's not like she's doing anything differently. Same fab Celine. It's just the critics and much of the public that have finally grow up to realize it!

Love them or hate them, TC and LMBTL have never been really performed well., her voice doesn't translate well in the live versions of these songs. She goes really super Low in some parts of the " what do you say" in TC amd also in LMBTL her lower register is kinda shakey... it's weird but I feel the more she ages her lower register is less pure but she's still nailing the high notes which is usually the harder of the two but she's Celine Dion, she has never been human lol, she's amazing!

I love the inclusion of Black & White because of RC and the twins, but my one problem with it is that she's doing it too much like MJ. The fan / windblown hair, the crotch-grabbing, the moves in general...it's a great impression, yes, but that kind of thing belongs in Veronic's set. If she's going to do the song, I want her to do it as Celine, not as MJ.

And saying she talks too much , comparing her to Adele who talks two times like her, saying all was rehearsed. Lolll honestly the medley was the highlight of the concert imo... she just crushed many fans dream of seeing those songs being performed live. It's like : "here 2 tickets for Disneyland, and right before you give them, you tear them apart.

I'm glad i'm not in Europe and not expecting a show like the first one. I would have been so disappointed.

 

Also i keep reading that audience is dead with LMBTL, but i was there in Qc city when she performed it for the first time, and people LOVED it. Has she changed the key since then? It does sound a bit slower.
