Ok , so I don't know what I should wear to this ??!! I would normally wear a nice dress and heels in Vegas colleseum and when I saw her in Dublins croke park I was in very casual , tracksuit clothes (it's outdoors!) , so I wonder what kinda clothes to wear to an arena ? Hmmmmm , if anyone has any thoughts .....

 

I'll just be in trousers/leggings with a nice smart top or something along those lines

Can't believe nobody posted this! She was indeed out yesterday in green, the best color since it's my favorite but I seriously wonder if she's not gonna do the walk around the crowd thing anymore. I would imagine not because of all the recent events anymore.

Are you a singer? Cuz that's not how it works. Celine can't just change the arrangement to be more comfortable or she wouldn't be lipping IACBTMN, TPOL, TLYM, IDAN, MHWGO, IS, and others throughout the years.

I had to go and look for her performing CFTF on the TC tour. That first verse is pretty embarrassing, imo. It's too low, she can't sing it - you can barely hear her for the background singers. I forgot that she cut the 2nd verse which makes sense because it's in a completely different octave.

 

Also, as you listen to the final 50 seconds, I guarantee you that, if she sang this song, it would quickly turn into a nonsense screaming/screeching fest a la LCMM or Purple Rain.

 

Having said all of that, CFTF is probably one of my favorite songs that Celine has ever recorded. Don't you find that ironical?

Yeah and being a musician myself I know how hard it is to transcribe a song to a different key. It not only sounds different but you have to get yourself reacquainted with the accidentals and notelines. I'd imagine if her band plays the same thing over and over it's a little odd to just change it cold turkey.

I wouldn't be moaning about it for sure and I have already suggested such a trick (I mean, lowering the songs) having heard what she had done during her last Summer Tour. Tous Les Blues was lovered by 3 semitones, so was Et Je T'Aime Encore. During some shows at the beginning she sang L'Amour Existe Encore a whole tone lower than the original (with high notes being "only" C#5s). An absolutely none of them has lost it's vibe.

I realise that lowering MHWGO is not an option: everyone will notice and it might look like she openly admits she can't sing it as she did anymore. As for the others, I don't think it's a problem. She has a very talented conductor who is able to turn any of her "belt-the-hell-outta-you" classics into a more comfortable tune to sing to.

I think they recycle last year's stage. She is gonna take her orchestra with her again, so that would be the easiest thing to do;)

CFTF is also one of my favourite Celine songs in English. Some songs work very well on the stage and were born to performed live. Some others don't, and I guess CFTF belongs to the latter

I don't find anything wrong with " Can't fight the feeling " from the TC tour as couldwouldashoulda stated. It was great and engergetic if anything was bad in that tour it was with FADE AWAY and SHADOW OF LOVE, both of which were great studio versions and sucked live.

I think Celine was waiting for her stylist. He arrived in France a couple days after Celine, and she knows all the cameras are on her fashion now. I also think she was just taking a a minute to rest her voice, relax and get some sleep and used to the time change she has gone through the time difference between Las Vegas and Paris is + 9 hours. Hopefully she has been resting and getting pampered in that hotel maybe a massage and some spa time lol. I'm sure when she gets started tomorrow it will be intense.

Agree with you. I think those not liking certain songs live when lowered are usually songs more poppy and uptempo, rather than the songs you mentioned. Ballad types and bluesy songs work well in different keys.

Really hope we have a few surprises this tour too!
