browseceline Posted February 9, 2017 at 11:13 AM Posted February 9, 2017 at 11:13 AM (edited) btw hope she is gonna record an actual video. I think you must not underestimate the impact of a good video on a song. For me , when we were still in the pre internet era, i often got introduced by a song on mtv or our local music station - tmf ( the music factory). And I often watched the videos and in the end bought the cdsingle because I liked it so much! For my heart will go on it was not only the music but also that video with the powerful movie fragements, like when the old couple keep holding their hands when the final hour strikes and the water keeps flooding in the ship.So , nice lyric video but certainly not enough at all Celine needs to appear in the video, not some random actors or animated figures, just Celine herself.Look at Taylor Swift, she often has great videos (out of the Woods for example) that make you want to buy that song! Those videos, Celine needs them too! nuts2you Posted February 9, 2017 at 09:02 PM Posted February 9, 2017 at 09:02 PM well look what she did with SA album video's she was in all of those video's , but yea I would to see her own video's for once Quote
Critiaslux Posted February 9, 2017 at 09:11 PM Posted February 9, 2017 at 09:11 PM Great that L'étoile is added to new radio. I guess the album should be doing still great in Belgium where it is already so successful And in France maybe it will be a slow mover. It is the third single so it's a lot for Céline If there is this TV with Michel Drucker, I hope she sings the song. It should give a bit of a push... well, hopefully. Otherwise, then nothing will, but a proper MV. But here we are dreaming Quote
LukeD Posted February 14, 2017 at 12:27 PM Posted February 14, 2017 at 12:27 PM This song has unfortunately gone nowhere much like SCAR. And now JNV is released as the fourth single of the album, shortly after the lyric video of L'etoile was released. None of this makes any sense to me! It is a nice thing I have given up on her singles career for quite some time now... Quote

It is a nice thing I have given up on her singles career for quite some time now... JNV is not the fourth single. It is the third one... I know it sounds weird JNV is released in Quebec - L'étoile was the second one therewhereas in France and Belgium, Sony releases L'étoile as the third one after SCAR I guess Sony is betting in local favorites somehow :- Jacques Veneruso, for SCAR, who was responsible for the latest Céline success in France (Parler à mon père, Je ne vous oublie pas, Tout l'or des hommes, Sous le vent)- Marc Dupré in Quebec who wrote the music for On s'est aimés à cause which was a success in Quebec (and himself he is quite successful, notably for his duet with Céline "Tout près du bonheur") 1 Quote

I also sense they tried to release ''personal songs'' as singles, since EUS, JNV and SCAR are songs Celine can relate to. They also attempted to release LYAC back in October but the public did not show much interest for the song after the live performances, so they went for L'etoile instead. I hope JNV gets some attention in Quebec. It has all it takes to be a hit. Quote

So that's how we get new music material from her these days, where music videoclips, remixes or even instrumentals have completely disappeared from her career... Used as background music for a TV report about her (cough cough, clearing my throat) new "lifestyle" brand launch event Some fans here maybe don't remember that there was a time when we could easily have the instrumental versions of her songs as b-sides on all her French singles... Oh those days. Just when nowadays it's the easiest thing to do and share multimedia material online, and Céline's team makes it the hardest thing Edited February 22, 2017 at 01:07 PM by Javito 2 Quote "Hush, now... isurrender Posted February 22, 2017 at 01:20 PM Posted February 22, 2017 at 01:20 PM What her team is doing the best is to redeem her photoshoots costs. They use the same picture to infinity : a single, an album, a tour, a lifestyle product line... They even got the nerve to get back using a picture from the SA era for the live tour 2017. 1 Quote

Javito Posted March 7, 2017 at 01:54 PM Posted March 7, 2017 at 01:54 PM Have you heard about Beyonce's album from 2013 and also Lemonade? She included a DVD with a video for all the songs in the album, so each song has a video that tells a story. She calls it "visual album". Can you imagine something similar with Céline? I'm sure it can't even enter in Sony's executives' heads to do something close to that for her 1 Quote "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"
Xpresso Posted March 7, 2017 at 02:04 PM Posted March 7, 2017 at 02:04 PM Céline's videos are not very creative... I wouldn't really want a full DVD with the same repetitive videos with a close up of Céline's face and eyes, and then seeing her wave her arms up, to the sides and then down again... 6 Quote

That's true. However I think it's not only a matter of being creative, but also having some kind of initiative. And Céline lacks any of it since all the time she did what others told her to do, and left all the decisions to her management. The only time I've seen some kind of creativity until now is when she designed the deluxe box set of the Taking Chances album. That's how far she went with it. Hopefully, from now on, this can change and see a new Céline more involved with all sort of ideas, creative talking 2 Quote "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"

Davey84 Posted March 8, 2017 at 12:27 PM Posted March 8, 2017 at 12:27 PM Unfortunately we can't compare Beyoncé and Céline on that aspect. Beyoncé is far more creative than Céline... Sad but true. I think Rene has the way he handled things were a blessing and a curse at the same time. I once made a thread about why Celine was never involved in writing songs. She could have had great peers (Marney, Plamandon, JJ, Foster, Nova etc)... yet Rene never steered her into that pathway. Same goes for concepts about the visuals of an album (we only know Celine wanted a black cover for LTAL) and for video clips. I think if Rene would have had her move involved from the start with other parts of her career, she would have been more creative in her 'art'. It's shame this never happened and now Celine is really only creatively interested in something she (alone) was involved in from the start: fashion. But as a side note, yeah Beyonce is 'creative' with a visual album like Lemonade (while she's not the first), the music industry now is sooo much different than 10/20/30 years ago. A great voice nowadays isn't enough anymore. 2 Quote http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v75/daveyh84/incognito198701_zpsaaootxh1.jpgRick, ik hou van jou voor altijd!A New Day... has come 28/29 April & 2/3 May 07Antwerpen 13 et 14 mai,Paris 24 et 25 mai, Amsterdam 2 juinet Arras 7 juillet Chances Taken!!!How Do You Keep The Music Playing? - Celine Opening Night March 15th, March 16th
