2016 Tour - setlist wishlists

I thought I'd create a separate topic for everyone to post their dream setlists for the upcoming 2016 Francophone tour.

 

I'm hoping the setlist contains as many French songs as the 2013 Tour did.

 

Here is my current wishlist:

After spending a year in France, I can confirm that JIOTI cannot be removed, everyone knows it. However, DUAM & Destin can go, these have been performed too much since 2008. I discovered that everyone in France knows SLV (especially young people), so I would love to see this in a Celine show. I would also like to see different selections from D'eux, and also revive old covers like LBDB & QONAQLA, as I feel would be able to nail these with her current voice. A Vegas-style acoustic medley would work very well with the 1F4T songs as these already have that rootsy feel to them. I'm hoping D'elles is also represented in these new shows, but not with ESNRQ or Immenisté as these have already been done in previous tours. I'm also hoping for different English hits. She doesn't need to do IACBTMN or ABM in her French shows, I would much rather see fan favourites like ANDHC & IA.

Although it's a bit hard to create a setlist without knowing the sound or message from her new album.

 

I'd love to hear Ten days too in French too (Tomber).

 

For the English songs (please not too much), I hope she performs some we haven't heard here in Europe before. And I hope they come up with a new MHWGO-intro (or skip it at all).

Sing all 12ish new songs off the album. It would be epic. Divide her show up into two acts.... act 1 can be the album from beginning to end. act 2 can be the hits and classic oldies. It's a weird concept, 2 shows essentially... but I knew an artist that did this with a mini set of shows it was pretty interesting.

it will probably be recorded for bluray again, so I guess Aldo will make sure the concert will sound different this time and that she will also sing songs that she has never sung live before and of course lots of songs from her new french album

Definitely NOT a tribute to the Paris victims. Remember the attacks took place in a concert hall, and AccorHotel Arena is a concert hall, too, so if she sings that, it would mean to the audience "Ok be careful, it could happen again here and now !"

When we don't know yet the new album and its songs it's so hard to create setlists but I really like a few ideas that some of you proposed. Of course, I love how ANDHC is present in those setlists:) I also think that it has to be back (it's a big hit, it's uptempo and it could replace the same old hits, they have to bring old hits but OTHER than BYLM or TPOL only). What's more, I'm glad that so many of you enlist TLS, JNVOP, LTQC and TLDH! :clap:That's my top 5!

 

I'm really afraid of one thing though. I'm scared that they might fall into the trap again. I mean they did fall into the trap with TPOL/IACBTMN/BYLM/TLYM and LCMM/RDMH as they have been next to each other since 2003 (of course not all of them but I hope you know what I mean) and it's really boring, tiring, uninspiring and not creative at all. Now I have a feeling they might do the same with ANDHC/TTWII/IA. Don't get me wrong the medley is awesome, it's my favourite part of the show, but it should be like this during this show only. First of all, such uptempo songs should be sung in full and especially ANDHC and TTWII deserve it. Fans love them and have missed them for a long time. Second of all, it'd be a shame if they incorporate only IA into the concerts.... Yeah, I love it too but we've had it and I want something different or IA and ANDHC AND TTWII. I just don't get why THEY think fans only want TPOL/BYLM/IACBTMN/TLYM/LCMM/ABM etc. It's up to them what they want to include and we'll have fun either way but seriously revive old songs like ANDHC, TTWII, Immortality (all three of them proved that such an idea works amazingly!) and, for instance, LTAL. I don't want to go on and on with songs titles

 

Of course, mainly I want as many songs from the new album as possible but that would also mean less possibilities of older songs that she hasn't performed in years....

Tim, I love many ideas of yours. Firstly, DMQS! we missed it in Europe in 2013 and I adore this song. It's fun, it's old but something she hasn't overdone. It's also a good idea to have U/LCMM together, we all know they won't get rid of LCMM but mixing it with Celine singing U would be great! I LOVE LOVE LOVE your idea about SLV intro, I totally agree, I loved it, they also did for Sur les plaines and I instantly thought it'd be great for other Celine's concerts. ANDHC and IA No comment Just sing them in full Actually I love this segment the most, it's very uptempo, uplifting and fun. I think this is what we've missed in Celine's concerts lately. We had some uptempo songs but not segments (and ballad segment for Une seule fois was way tooooooooooo long). SLV would work perfectly with ANDHC and IA as well as TLS. I love this idea too, I've always hoped that she would sing TLS live. I just adore this song The acoustic medley idea is also nice, I'd only swap EJTE for JLD. 1f&4t HAS to be represented and it should be something more than TLDH only.

 

As for JOTI, I'd give it a go. I understand why you say it cannot be removed. But I'm fed up with it in the same degree as LCMM/RDMH. I'd defend Destin though

 

In your setlist I only don't like the ending. They should really mix it (MHWGO and PQTME) and put it somewhere else (at least MHWGO). And I'm totally against QONQL, I want something Celinish to close the show - either new song or JNVOP in full with the audience I have never been a fan of QONQL.

Definitely! Technically it was a single (in Poland ), so it's more possible than any other song from D'elles which wasn't a single. And actually, this is the song from D'elles that I'd like to see the most. Femme comme chacune would also be nice.

I would happily replace QPVSA with TLDH and Ziggy for EJTE. For some reason, I just don't see any of the "D'elles" songs fitting. I like the album, but I don't know that the songs would translate well live with the exception of "Immensite." I didn't love when she sang ESNRQ live during the TCWT.

In all honesty, though, I'm not thrilled by the idea of importing the "Funk Medley" to her French shows. There is a very small number of English songs which are "required" for all her shows. Those being "My Heart Will Go On," "The Power Of Love," "It's All Coming Back To Me Now," "Because You Loved Me" and maybe "All By Myself." Other than those, I see absolutely zero reason to include the other material when she has other French material which would fit better.

 

As for songs from "D'elles," I think the majority of them could work well. Keep in mind, Celine now has Scott Price working with her. I firmly believe he could make anything from her catalog shine far better than Mego ever did.
