So she says there's no contract...but I mean there must be a stop date in place they can't just say oh when you feel like stopping come to us and let us know lol it doesn't work that way. Not saying that your saying that either I'm more so just generalizing based on Celine's answer to that question

In his interview for "La Presse" (August 22, 2015) Aldo said, that the contract is signed til 2019.

 

[...] Céline Dion reprendra donc à compter de jeudi les spectacles qu’elle a dû annuler au cours de la dernière année, pour honorer le contrat qu’elle a signé avec le Caesars Palace, qui va jusqu’à la fin 2019. [...]

 

Translation:

 

Céline will resume the shows she cancelled during last years run this Thursday, to honor the contract she signed with Caesars Palace and which runs until the end of 2019.

What Celine meant in her press conference (saying that there's "no contract") is, that for her it's more that a contract, since Ceasars Palace had been so considerate concerning her personal life, that she FEELS as if there's no contract. Additional they'd been always so generous to her during all these years.

Hmm so I guess it's official then? Though I really didn't believe she was gonna go till 2019 especially considering she said she has a new french and english album coming out. But then again she was in Vegas last time she released a new album.

I think the reason she can make the album and her Vegas show work is cause she can release it when she has a gap in her shoes. Or at least that's the way it seems now! Then she can go promote it

Let's face it Celine can say "jump", and Caesar's will respond with "How high?" It could be that they have more acts lined up and that she could be gone for a year to year and a half but she will have a residency at least till 2019. I completely understand the reason for her wanting to be in Vegas, but at the same time if I was in her shoes with everything going on and I'm thinking of releasing a new album I would be accommodating. If people all over the world are willing to buy said album I have to at least offer to do live shows in their country as a thank you.

Then again I would have never spoke about thinking about doing an album especially with how Rene is right now, I thought they would have learned that mistake with the last album and the monstrosity it created. Didn't we start the rumors of a new album around 2010? I remember there was much publication and Rene stated that the album would be out in April 2012. We obviously know how that turned out and I myself wouldn't have wanted another rumor filled mess to deal with if I was in there shoes.

I agree. I mean she's going to have to do promo for the next two years. If she has to stop in the middle, well..... It will feel half baked again.

To the best of our knowledge, has Rene still not been able to see the show in person?

If not, that's really worrisome. I assumed part of the reason he wasn't there in the first week or so was to avoid a media vulture feeding frenzy, but would have thought by now he would have been there if he were well enough.... Hoping for the best.

If Rene is immunosuppressed or compromised, which I would bet he is, there is no need for him to go out in public with 4,000 people wanting to wish him well. It's not worth the risk.

I think it's possible for her to release an album and do mini tours between Vegas runs. Look what she did for SA, that was amazing. And Asia would have been too...if...well anyway. I do think it is a bit risky to get excited about an album given how things are, but Aldo and her, and I think even Rene in some behind the scenes ways, seem determined to get her career really moving again!

here's some interesting facts:

do you know that the colosseum is actually co owned by Rene's company Feeling and AEG! i think Caesars Palace only owns a little of it

for every singer / artists (except Celine) performs at the colosseum they actually have to pay Feeling / AEG for hiring the venue!
