I like it! It sounds again like a 90s song, perfect for Celine again.

It also has a nice country vibe in it. I wish I had your talent! I am only good in covering songs at this moment.

But creating a complete song from scratch. It is remarkable

Btw I really really like your voice. Have you ever tried competing in the voice? Your songs could do it very well in todays hitlists I think.

ANd how great it is to make a living doing what you like best and what you are good at!

Your voice sounds like ... familiar. I can't find the name of the singer. Well anyway, it is great! I love the text, and I really really love the whole production again. The sweet piano and the beautiful strings and the overal warmth in the sound:-)

too kind!!!! my ego has now grown to the size of a small country! … About my own singing, I never really set out to be a singer - I started doing it to record my writing as it was cheaper than paying session singers and time and here we are … I am writing a number of tracks for an album of mine … but it’s just a vanity project really - it’s all very retro (a la Bacharach - 60’s) and fun to perform … I don’t imagine it’ll make me the next Bruno Mars but I’m quite happy with my lot … Where can I hear you singing?

(I'm showing my age here )Because that is the vibe I get from this with the lines, "If the words you said I always misread", "And yet for all the pain, the tears I cried in vain" ect...

I can sing but I am not a singer. I almost never record myself because I am just not that good haha Anyway, I have a youtube channel and I cover songs from Celine mostly. Every now and then I choose a song that I like and I am covering the song. At this moment I am working on I drove all night in the ballad version that I heard on youtube.

My turn to bow down to you now - I’m worse than rubbish at creating pages or sites or threads or whatever the hip crowd call it nowadays … technology hates me and the feeling is mutual … in fact, this forum is as far as I can stretch … and even then, I’ve been booted out twice this afternoon (which is probably self-inflicted … new computer) … feel like I’m reliving the whole celine rejection thing all over again! lol

 

your page is awesome - incidentally, I just remembered writing another song which at the time was to be pitched to IL Divo and a female vocalist (there was talk of Celine… ) … as with most things in the industry, it was gonna be the biggest project and the wold and his wife would never be the same again etc.. etc.. and naturally it amounted to a lot of hot air and a trip down the pub to drown our sorrows …

 

this is diva-style warbling verging on gimmick …

Wow everyone! I’ve just realised this thread is about me!! haha … I didn’t realise my post had been successful … thank you so much for the feedback and all the kind words (also love the fact that any mildly negative comment came with an apology - Celine fans = pure class!)

To answer some of your questions ... yes it is me singing - trying (and inevitably failing) to sound a little celine-esque ... testosterone got in the way ... and trying to learn some of her vocal acrobatics gave me an ulcer …

For those of you who said this is more of what celine has already done in the past, you are absolutely spot on – just to explain, I was told by the high and mighty powers (the type who “call their people” and permanently wear sunglasses…) that after disappointing sales figures posted by her Taking Chances album, they decided to do a survey of her target audience in America and ask them what they wanted from Celine … and the resounding answer was – more of the same! “we want vintage Celine” … Titanic, Because you loved me … so the brief I received was to write for Celine in that style…

She eventually decided to record an album that was closer to Adele’s work– they begged her to think twice (excuse the pun!) but since she’s now reached demigod status, her decisions are gospel…

and so my hopes and dreams went to join the titanic and it was all very tragic … then one of her songs came on the radio and all was forgiven! haha

I would love to hear celine sing "beautiful day" and "my all". "Never forget" does sound like that could be a hit on radio, but more like a song for avril or younger artists.

Wow! You are really talented!! I want Little Heart on Celine next album! The music is soooo beautiful!! I really love it and it's perfect for Celine (even if are you singing, in my immagination I can hear Celine!). This song is similar style of many of hers, and even if I hope for new less "mommy" songs I think that one of them can stay on the album! Approved... Send it back to Celine!

I think that My All has a similar melody to Stronger (Kelly Clarkson) and Who You Are or Nobody's Perfect (Jessie J). Not hating but if Celine was about to release those songs she would be hated unless somehow these songs are sampled. But Half Of Me is very original melody and relatable lyrics. HOM is definetly best

As for Celine, well needless to state the obvious, she can have anything of mine she wants (music I mean ) and do whatever she likes with it : P … but it’s not as simple as sending it through the post:-/ … Any songwriter would literally give an arm and a leg to have a legend like her record one of his or her songs (well almost any writer that is - I think I remember reading something about one of the writers of Water and a Flame accusing her of stealing credit at the time - which is a bit like accusing the Pope of stealing your school bible! haha)) … And there I was, with my (not so) Little Heart-ache , still in mourning and ready to sign up to be a monk! … in fact at the time, I’d have even settled for one of Celine’s sisters or her lighting guy doing the song! haha - … Have a nice weekend everyone x
