Finally found another singer who does some of the same vocal "yelps" Celine has come to love in recent years...in this case, in a great cover version of a wonderful Joni song. Once I noticed them, I could only think of Celine lol.

 

The most prominent example is 2:43 - 2:45, but the examples are all throughout the song.

 

0:23-24, 0:43-45, 1:02-1:03, 1:20-1:22, 1:40-1:43, 1:56-1:57, 2:03, 2:13-2:15, 3:05.

Sounds like they just flipped the audio to put the music in the foreground and Celine in the background. Add some intro music from the soundtrack, and cover the imperfections with audience applause. Right?

I think this is just the movie/soundtrack version then they just put lots lots of reverb to sound like this.

Actually, the soundtrack version is the original recording... For the All The Way album, they just replaced the orchestra with pop instruments, and speeded up the audio so the song became shorter, and a little higher.

But it turned out that the tuning of the ATW version it's not A=440Hz (the common tuning world wide) becuase they didn't chage the key, they just speeded up... so if you play the audio alongside with a piano for example, it'll sound out of tune lol

I'll never understand why they did that...

This song was so fun and well produced on its release, I wish Celine would revisit it. It would be a good concert song! I have two of the remix vinyl singles and really enjoy them.
