That's true! I didn't think of that. I just remember being devastated that the Asia tour was cancelled, but then I realized Rene could very well be fighting for his life... and he was :cry: but Céline is doing so well now. Do you have the Julie Snyder interview by chance?

 

I found it now . .it was a Paris Match article. I'm linking to NicoNV's translation of the major points of the article from July 2014. At that time, Celine was saying that Rene was out of danger, and that RC was happy his dad was cancer-free. So sad how fast that changed. And this was the bit about the parking lot (as summarized and translated by Nico):

 

when she dressed up to water ski in the bathing suit, she also had heels on. She went out to greet Rene in the parking lot like that. Julie said it's great after 19 years of marriage they are still like that. Celine said she wanted his opinion on the outfit. She thought he might say no. But, he didn't. Instead, he laughed and said something like he would remember the image :) She said she loves to surprise him.

Oh yes!!! I remember that one. It was heartbreaking in a way, because he had his bout only a few weeks later, and we can't, and probably won't, be sure that this was the bout that lasted until last January. It's so sad, but I'm glad Céline is still doing what she loves, and seems to be upbeat about the whole thing, if that doesn't sound morbid.

I don't know why Celine's appearance on L'ete Indien was never put on youtube in full length. I can only find bits and pieces. Also, I would love to be able to see that unseen parking lot footage with Celine and Rene. :down:

I love this performance! I think she was actually in a relatively good place emotionally at that point -- that was summer 2014, and when she did this show, she also did a number of interviews saying that Rene's cancer was been treated successfully, and he was getting better ..Rene was with her backstage (there was a Julie Synder interview talking about how he loved Celine's mermaid outfit), they were planning her Asia tour, and she was talking about that. And then I think Rene's cancer came back a few weeks later . IIRC, this was in July 2014, and in August, she abruptly canceled everything for an entire year - the Vegas shows, the Asia tour, etc. That must have been when they got bad news about Rene's health. I remember it being so shocking, because she'd been so happy and upbeat during this taping and the interviews around it, and then all of a sudden everything was cancelled. I think the next interview we got was that super-sad GMA interview in March 2015 where she was crying and talking about feeding Rene through a feeding tube. So sad to rememeber.

Back in the 80s/90s, Celine sang Encore et Encore with Francis Cabrel too, right? Does anyone have the video/audio? I remember hearing it once. She was very powerful, probably too much. But still, I would love to hear that again.

New Condor video!!! I always loved the 2012 video -- Celine and Rene seemed so happy and relaxed, and it was such an ordinary, everyday conversation, that you kind of feel like you're hanging out at the restaurant with them. So happy to know what they're saying -- thank you, Condor!!

OMG I can't believe what I just found. Celine's acceptance speech at the 1998 Amigo Awards in Spain! :o :o :o She won on the Best International Female Artist category.

 

She couldn't attend the event in person as she was probably in France promoting 'S'il Suffisait D'aimer' (judging by her look). My Gosh, what a nice surprise!

A nice discovery: 3 previously unseen (at least by me :giggle: ) videos from the Quebec TV show 'Star Système' through 2004:

 

Céline and René at the opening of the Air Canada campaign

(Never knew she sang Destin at those events)

 

 

 

Celine at the release of 'Miracle' in New York with Anne Geddes

(Apparently Spanish media were there, hopefully that interview for Spain will be posted one day...)

I love Herby! My favorite parts are 1:40 of the Air Canada one, where Celine pulls Rene away, and 5:53 of the Regis and Kelly one, where Celine and Rene do their cute little Star Systeme goodbye together. They were so sweet together.

Haha. Can Celine please do the pre-recorded French safety briefing on Air Canada? Maybe then I'd actually listen. We'd all be better off. :)

They really were so sweet together. After watching these videos its totally possible to understad why even after his passing she is still in love with him. I watched the Joselito interview this saturday and after I watched these videos, and you just have to say I understand why he is still so present in her life!

Definitely. It'll take a very special man to capture her heart in the future. A work colleague lost her husband 4 years ago. She's had only one relationship in that time, which only lasted a few months. She said to me "I had the best, so why bother? No one compares" I feel it'll be the same for Celine. It could happen later on, but like I said, it'll take a very special man.

Since today marks 1 year since René's passing, I decided to share with you the documentary 'René Angélil: L'homme Derrière Céline Dion' with Spanish subtitles. The ending is specially touching... :cry:

OMG that strange new look is actually real. It was no photoshop fake https://www.instagra.../p/BPPSZozF7JM/

 

I actually really like the way they styled her hair, but I really dislike the hair colurs. They should have kept her natural dark/brown colour and maybe add some highlights. As far as the makeup is concerned, I have to say that I don't like it at all. It is to bright and doesn't suit her face. The pink lipstick along with the eye colur just don't suit her at all. She looks like she thinks she is a Barbie doll. Actually, everything is really good apart from the colours

I think I saw somewhere that this was a fake audio but I could be wrong.
