I saw a pic of RC and John making the video on instagram under #celinedion. Wow, RC is really getting into social media these past couple of years. Still so strange that he is fifteen and a half. Where has the time gone.

Download periscope and look up "johnhallet4". That's his friend John's account and they did two periscopes on the same night, each around 45-50 min long. They said they are planning on doing a few more this week since John is apparently staying with RC and his family in Montreal for a little while.

 

Something else we also learned from the periscopes are:

 

1. RC takes his french speaking skills very seriously...a lot of people from France kept saying that his accent was "cute" when he was speaking french and he got all embarrassed and said he is from Quebec and that's how his accent is. He loves saying that French is his first language. He takes pride in it!

2. He hates Chris Brown and has no respect for him lol. (good choice in my opinion)

3. His favorite food is poutine (so is John's apparently)

4. He supports Montreal Impact soccer team since he's as he says, a "hometown guy"

5. He has a pretty thick accent when he speaks English! When he gave the eulogy, you could tell he was really trying to pronounce his words...but when he is talking casually, it's a little bit more muffled.

6. He hates playstation, love XBOX.

7. Favorite band is Red Hot Chili Peppers

8. Celebrity crush is Kate Upton

9. John and RC had been up for over 20 hours when they were doing the periscope, they said it was around 8 am montreal time and they had woken up 1 pm the prior day lol!

10. He doesn't play Pokemon Go nor will he play it.

11. When someone asked him if he preferred Celine or Barbara Streisand, John was like "I don't know who Barbara is" and RC was like "You don't know who that is??" and then he said "they're both great" LOL.

I wasn't personally on the periscope at the time of the streaming, I just watched a little bit from each since they're still available to view on John's profile.

I'm not sure if I feel comfortable asking those questions though...many of the questions if not all believe it or not were about RC and his friend and his own personal life...not about Celine. I don't want to infest the chat with questions about her.

This is hilarious -- around 21:00, RC starts promoting Schwartz's to someone who said they want to go to Montreal. Said he'd get them a discount!

 

On the 2nd one, someone comments that RC's house in Florida is "pretty lit" (I guess that's a good thing? So not up on this stuff). RC says it is pretty lit, so let him know if you want to buy it.

I watched it live but didn't ask anything. I giggled when someone asked who their favorite singers are and someone said "celine dion is mine" and RC said "good for you" he seemed to avoid some questions about celine but it was funny when he talked about barbra

I love how genuinely proud he is to be Quebecois! For a kid who was born and grew up in the US, that's really impressive! And makes me so glad.

 

And on a separate note, watching this I was really struck by how some of his mannerisms are soooo much like my baby brother (who's only a few years older). Like, down to a T!

At some point in one of the periscopes, RC and his friends decided that they're going to make a youtube channel. RC suggested the name "DAcrew"

I'd like to think most of us are reasonable and let him be, but some people really have no filter and no shame! If you read some comments on his social media posts... well let's just say there are some crazies out there! (And now that he has much more of a public profile, I'm afraid he's going to have to deal with a lot more of that!)

I am kind of surprised that RC agreed to doing this live video with his friend. Making himself public like that. We know he has a instagram and twitter account, but that's a little different. With twitter and instagram there are still boundaries. Things are more controlled and private.

 

I personally hope he doesn't continue to make these live videos. I know he's a responsible young man, but he is still a kid and a celebrities kid at that. Making himself to public can become dangerous. Especially when it's live and people want to know his location and stuff.

 

The whole thing just made me feel a little uneasy. Just the fact that he is only fifteen and he is a celebrity's kid. Also, he's really making himself vulnerable by taking live questions from random people, being two teenage boys in the middle of the night and they were basically all by themselves. RC even said that everyone was sleeping. I'm sure RC knows how to handle himself but still, he shouldn't be put in situations like that without an adult near by.

 

I wonder if he got permission from Celine before doing this. I know he's fifteen and feels grown up, but he's really still a kid. If I were a celebrity mom in that position, I would want to know if my son was making live videos and talking to strangers in the night.

I agree. It was pretty innocent and RC handled the questions perfectly. He is a very mature young man. It was nice to see his teenage side. The way he talkes with his friends is different then his regular speaking voice. It's funny how they talk with swag. I remember that age of acting cool LOL. I liked that part of it. Experiencing how RC is as a teenager.

I agree. He even said he wouldn't answer the "if you were to vote for Hillary or Trump who would you pick". I'm sure if he answered blogs would've picked up on his answer and it would become a political conversation in regards to what Celine's political party is.

Still I don't think Celine knows about it. I'm not sure if she would approve, but maybe she would if she said certain things were off topic.

Maybe, I am just too old! ( I am five years older than Celine, so a year younger than her nearest siblings). RC was always so shy as a kid, so I want him to preserve a zone of privacy so that he can live his life. But, I am sure he has watched Rene (and Patrick) balance the work with the home life and has a good idea how to do this. I just know how people can go to far with their questions and I don't want him to have to deal with that.
