incognito Posted August 8, 2014 at 01:37 AM Posted August 8, 2014 at 01:37 AM (edited) Years ago I used to come here to express my self-perceived superiority to Scary Celine Fans (and sometimes Celine) and then I got a life and got over myself. I suggest you do the same. (or maybe I was brainwashed) Also, I'm sorry you're not rich. Edited August 8, 2014 at 01:40 AM by incognito Quote
ehild Posted August 8, 2014 at 02:01 AM Posted August 8, 2014 at 02:01 AM Not everyone is rich and can afford to go multiple times and have the show cancelled. I'd go several times a year if money and life in general would allow it. I have a life outside this forum. That said I love Celine and I will plan trips to Vegas. But I definitely get people being upset if this was their one chance to go.....or had gone multiple times and she cancelled. As much as I love her I'd be more apt to really consider going back. As far as the comments about her diva behavior goes I'd like the person who posted that a few pages back to elaborate further and post a source. All entertainers are divas to some degree..... Mattie Posted August 8, 2014 at 03:54 AM Posted August 8, 2014 at 03:54 AM Those reviews, my gosh!!! People are so offensive. It's normal to get sick, and some people are more immune than others. Just pointing out some possible theories…lol, ok maybe a bit obnoxious. But so many of defend her as if she's your mother, or even friend. When she does not even know we exist. In the end, the point about her being human and getting sick is true. Preserve her beautiful voice, blah blah blah. But maybe, just maybe--she does take it too far. But will we ever know? Probably not. In the end, it's just a concert. So yes, you could find something else to do. But sometimes people get pissed. And that, is life. Just as 'having discomfort in your throat' is life, lol. Now excuse me while I go, as one member pointed out, Get a life! Edited August 8, 2014 at 05:32 PM by Kyle_Jared Quote
CSCfan Posted August 8, 2014 at 08:39 PM Posted August 8, 2014 at 08:39 PM But maybe, just maybe--she does take it too far. And what is "too far"....? Btw, if Céline cancels, something is definately wrong. If she cancels, it's always cause of the voice. Have you ever considered there are another 100 ways to be ill.... like a major headache, nausea, allergies etc. etc. and that "us normal people" not go to work (easily) when we have something like that, but Céline just goes on. And yes, it's maybe "just" for 90 mins, but any minute can be very tough. It's not like she loves to cancel.....and it MAY seem often, but compare it to the number of shows she's doing.... well then it really isn't that bad. It's also because she's in Vegas so long, so they go all the way back to 2003. 3 Quote »»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»» MATHIAS ««««««««««««««««««««««««««««««««https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NzPrxI0AIDY

chocolatechip15 Posted August 9, 2014 at 01:38 PM Posted August 9, 2014 at 01:38 PM I'm so sorry to the people who got concerts canceled -- that must be so disappointing. Having planned an entire trip around going to see Celine (luckily, i got to see both shows I bought tix for) - I understand how excited you get beforehand and can only imagine how disappointing it must be to have that canceled. And how frustrating to spend all the money for airfare, hotel, etc, and not be able to see her. But there's a difference being disappointed and frustrated at the situation vs. being angry at Celine and calling her a diva. There are risks to planning any trip - risks that you or a family member will get sick; or that there will be a blizzard or a hurricane and your flight won't leave, or whatever. Another risk is that Celine will get sick. It's just a risk you take when you plan a trip like this. I don't think she overdoes it at all . I think her overall "attendance" is still well over 90% (for her whole run) -- and when she cancels, it's only for things related to her voice, on doctor's orders. (Not all the ailments all of us get, headaches, stomachaches, whatever; not when her kids get sick - seriously, she has two toddlers and a tween, there must be a sick kid in her house pretty often; and have we forgotten that she just did 3 months straight of shows while her husband was battling a serious health crisis? I think she's an amazing professional, and she's entitled to sick days like the rest of the world, especially when there's a problem that directly affects her voice.) By the way, I don't blame people who decide it's not worth it to take the Vegas trip anymore. For some people, the risk that she will cancel is too high to justify the cost of the trip. I think that risk is still pretty low, but I don't blame people who make that choice -- but I sitll think that's different from being angry at Celine and criticizing her. 5 Quote

sfbaysinger Posted August 10, 2014 at 10:11 PM Posted August 10, 2014 at 10:11 PM I think as important as we are to her, it's called radical self-care when something DETRIMENTAL to her voice comes up. If it's a minor inconvenience, she pushes through. But if it could cause lasting damage, she does what any good singer would do. I'm sorry if even that isn't good enough for some people. I would be so disappointed, but I'd like to think I would direct my anger at that stupid inflammation/virus/infection, not the unfortunate recipient of. And you know, I am blind, so maybe it's my fandom that caused me to lose my sight 2 miserable horrible years ago. Think about that, why don't those people being rude in any way. I hope she is well very soon! 2 Quote L'immensite de mon amour pour Celine! L'amour existe encore pour elle!

Yes, sadly everything is being postponed indefinitely Céline Dion has postponed her Las Vegas residency, canceled her Asia tour and postponed all of her show business activities indefinitely because of her husband's ongoing health issues. http://www.people.co...-angelil-cancer I hope and pray he is better in a few months, but as his strength returns, I hope she still cancels her shows so she can spend time with her family. Her priority is her family, and I hope fans and press understand this and just give them peace and privacy at this time. I am sorry for fans who lost tickets at this time to her show. I understand. I had third row tickets for an upcoming show. But, in life there are shows and then there are things that truly matter--family truly matters. I am proud she made this decision and remained true to her values, I would hope I had the strength and ability to do the same if I ever found myself in a similar situation. God bless their family at this time. Edited August 13, 2014 at 01:19 PM by NicoNV 4 Quote
