ok all....here it is! My notes on the first two performances of the summer run! :) sorry it took a few days - had to wait til i got home from vegas and had my full computer! as reported, there were no major changes for the summer run, but here are some individual notes and comments about the first two shows.

TUESDAY JUNE 10th

As a whole, the audience was great and energetic and gave her long cheers. standing ovations after all the normal songs that get them - OA, TPOL, NMQP, ABM, RDMH, MHWGO, etc. Céline looked fantastic. she had a little bit of a beautiful summer bronze to her skin tone, and this always makes her hair look a little lighter and summery too. her bangs this night had a little less of full center part than she's worn it a lot lately. she was very energetic and visibly excited to be there and performing. she definitely looked and acted refreshed as though she was ready to be back on the stage and seemed very fresh and new about everything. her vocals overall were very energetic as well - she did a lot of riffing, (a lot which i had never heard before or places i normally don't hear her variate as much) and moved around a lot physically, too. below i will just comment on things that were exceptional or out of the ordinary, or different than the last time i saw the show. (which was a year ago)

Open Arms - standing ovation before and after. did a lot of riffs i had never heard before. and the ending was a tad different, too...rather than just "humming" some of the final notes and saying "open arms" at the end, she sang "open, open, open, open arrrrmss." was different and pretty.

WDMHBN - did a ending more "90s-eque" as i would say as she went up when singing "til the end" in the final line. so simple, but i always love this when it happens haha.

BYLM - did some extra riffs and was extra energetic vocally during the final choruses

IACBTMN - was very passionate at the times when she turned upstage toward the band...lots of extra hand movements, moving around, "conducting" the orchestra, etc. especially during the interlude between this and TPOL. she was this way too later in the show whenever she'd turn toward the band. especially in james bond segment live and let die.

Paganini - this song has grown on me so much over the years now. she just rocks this song! great performance as always and a different ending than i have heard her do. also, new shoes! they are sparkly with swarovski-looking diamonds and really catch the light when she pulls her leg out during the number and struts around. don't know if they are new for summer, but new since the last time i saw this segment as she was still wearing the nude ones.

Lullaby - such a beautiful song and passionate performances. also some new riffs and fun stuff here i hadn't heard her sing that way before.

HDYKTMP/overjoyed - sang certain parts a little differently as well than i had heard before. another song that i wasn't crazy about but has grown on me over time. these were a little differently for me to hear again live as lately I've been so used to the album arrangements ever since it came out. overjoyed is a great song, but i still think its not the most exciting live. seeing two hologram performances back to back, and its so limited to Céline not moving around since she has to stand on the platform.

At 17 - also a little different to hear live again after hearing the cd version. however there is also a slight staging change here - the brass section no longer comes out to join Céline and andre in front of the curtain. it was just the two of the them the whole time out front. I'm not positive but i think the overall orchestration might've changed a tiny bit - when you listen to the audio let me know if you think so, too. it just sounded a little more "full" than i remember it. but it also could just be cuz I'm so used to the album version now.

BATB - by far my favorite performance live of this i have ever heard in this show. i always love this song, but tonight she just had an energy about it and did some beautiful riffs i loved! also, barnev was a little stronger than normal, too. my only critique is to remove the corny 3d chandelier from the LED screen! i think that is the only graphic that is not up to par, and looks so corny to me - especially after the beautiful chandelier during the first segment of the show.

Incredible - i personally love this song, and i was so happy to finally hear it live. and it did not disappoint. i love the lighting and beat of the song with orchestra! FYI how they segway into it is after BATB when barnev would normally leave, he stays because Céline thanks him and says how much she loves singing with him, etc. she then asks if he'd be willing to sing one more song with her. after he says yes she says if they may they'd love to sing a new song off her latest english album and its called incredible. i LOVE the riffs she does during this song live. i wish they would've been on the album version! and she did some riffs in her higher register during the final main chorus that were incredible. (No pun intended lol) love love love it! so good to hear new music!

NMQP - this is still not one of my favorite songs, but always a great performance. however tonight was not my favorite performance of this song. however, it definitely did seem a little more "raw" than normal. listen to the audio and see what you think.

ABM - something kinda weird happened. first of all there is a staging change at least since the last time i saw the show. the platform with Mego and the piano always used to slide center for the performance of this song and later in the climax of the song Céline would go stand against the piano with him. now the piano just slides over a little bit stage right and never gets close to center, and Céline stays front center the whole number. also, during this performance, the huge stage lift in the center of the stage went all the way into the basement for the entire song. so there was a huge 20 foot gaping hole behind Céline during the whole song that was just "eating" all the fog on the ground and looked very odd. i don't think it did this the second night, but i was very close to the stage so couldn't quite see. but it definitely didn't look like it as the smoke did not stop at the point in the stage and made it more down to the end. maybe it was a mistake?

MJ trio - there used to always be two girls and a guy with long hair, but now it is just three girls. this whole number seems much less "intense" at the end. they would always get a lot more intense and louder in the final section of the song, but now it never really does. :/ such a weird filler still without the MJ segment following it.

LCMM/RDMH - very energetic performances with lots of riffing and Céline was clearly having a lot of fun.

so those are the things that stood out or were out of the ordinary, etc. during the show! some overall notes about microphones - she is still using the corded shure mic of course. she only uses the wireless one during james bond, HDYKTMP, Overjoyed, and MHWGO. the wireless one is no longer the sennheiser mic either it is a shure as well. i still am not a fan of seeing the cord hanging around, but at least she sounds great so i guess thats what matters lol. and yes, the speeches in the show have not changed, but i will at least give her credit as she still performed them well and made them seem fresh to the audience. i heard a woman on the way out commenting to her friend that the jokes were the same as when she saw the show last year lol.

TUESDAY JUNE 11th

tonight's show was in many ways similar to the night before. the audience was even better, though! there were some longer pauses throughout the show as sh waited for the applause to subside a bit. you will have to listen to the audio because she made a lot more little comments here and there...about the audience being good, "what happens in vegas stays in vegas, etc." she also did two really cute speaking moments - after BATB while thanking barnev she said she had been singing that song for 20 years now and that barnev is only 19 years old. haha. also, after incredible before NMQP, she did a little 30 second speech she normally does not. took a moment to say that music is so many different things - therapeutic, healing, etc and that she and on behalf of everyone you saw or didn't see during the show are so grateful to perform and do what they love. it sounded a little reminiscent of one of the AND speeches, but was very cute and heartfelt and nice to hear! of the two nights, i still looked the vocals the 10th the first night a little better because i loved her riffs this night. however, this night was just as great and energetic. also, during incredible almost the entire front orchestra leapt to their feet and was clapping and dancing and swaying. you could feel the energy in the theater and it was fantastic. clearly Céline and barnev were feeding off it, too!

if i think of anything else, i will be sure to add it! three off Céline topic pieces i wanted to share that i learned while at the box office - one as some of you have heard they announced last night that the ventriloquist/comedian Jeff Dunham will be starting a Vegas residency this November with the Caesars family. He has performed for years now semi-frequently at the colosseum, and will now have his own open-ended vegas show at planet hollywood. also, i asked about a contract extension for Shania. one has not been announced yet, and her current 2 year contract is up in december! i was told by the box office that was still no official announcement of an extension yet, but they knew that there would definitely be some shania shows in 2015. so clearly some type of extension whether short or long is coming up! also, i asked about elton as it april he did his final performances of 2014/on his current 3 year contract. i was told he will be touring the rest of this year so had no more vegas shows, but starting next year would begin another 3 year contract. also, if you didn't already know in the world of vegas DVDs, elton's million dollar piano show is coming out on DVD at the end of this month, and over at planet hollywood, it was confirmed that there will be a DVD release of Britney Spear's vegas show, but they will not release it until after her show eventually closes. just thought you guys might wanna know about that stuff, too!

finally i haven't forgotten - the AUDIO! i do have both nights full audio of the entire show to share with you! I am editing them right now for volume consistency and clipping the ends and will have them for you by the end of the day. :)

Thanks for the great reviews!! Can't wait for the audio!

Was at last night's show and pretty much the same energy she had in the first two shows was still here. It is really great to see Celine having fun on stage and interacting with the crowd more. She was high fiving audience members and waving and blowing kisses. Best show I have seen in a while.

That is good news! It is true that sometimes the audience is dead but sometimes she has no "spark!" Maybe the Bahamas did her some good! :giggle:

Wow, she really went crazy with Incredible, loved it. Also, Lullaby was exquisite, hearing this performance of the song really made me appreciate why Celine has decided to incorporate it into her repertoire.

So I went to 10th and 11th.

The first night, OMG my first show ever. I couldn´t stop crying. She was amazing and she sang incredible well. She looked like a little bit strange in attitude, maybe nervous with the comeback, I don´t know. But it was great.

The second night. It was literally incredible.!!!! She was divine. So much energy from her and from the audience. She confessed that was her best show in Vegas, EVER!!!! And she grabbed my hand    I´m in heaven. The highlight IMO was Incredible.

I saw her going to the party at Nobu, but I couldn´t be able to try a picture, since the bodyguards dragged her. While walking she kept her head turned back to us and said: Hi guys, you were great this night! Thank you!

Rene didn´t go to the second night, neither to the party, since he was at poker in Rio Hotel, all day long.

Also went to the first 2 Summer shows (June 10 & June 11) and loved it! While I was initially a bit disappointed no changes have been made (yet!), the shows totally made up for it.... ahh the joy of actually attending a Vegas show!

Anyway, won't go much into detail as it has been done amazingly already, have to say the first show was very good, Céline & co were in great shape and it showed...holiday did everyone well! But.... while professionally the show was good, fanwise it was a bit different. Probably due to the fact it was the 1st show back and everything involved with that, I can imagine. Céline was a bit "out there". And while the audience gave her a good welcome back, I've also seen better (Vegas) crowds.

Now...the June 11th show. Where to start! First off, I was able to get amazing 2nd row seats, which promised a fantastic show itself. But it got even better when it turned out we were sitting with other fans, so we had a little group in the front....and we decided to make good use of that and show everyone on stage how an audience should be. So from the very start we clapped our *sses off and yelled our lungs out and it paid off; the moment the curtains opened all the way to the end of "Open Arms", she was totally stunned. This continued throughout the show and feeded Céline & band/orchestra... they were on fire!! I think after Mr Paganini (you can hear it in the bootleg), she says "Wow, a little craziness going on here!" and pointed to us. Later on, when Céline (spoilers!) walks the aisle next to us during "How Do You Keep The Music Playing", she gave hands to a lot of people (more than usual), us too, and we were able to hand over a tulipe we brought for her (a few days before I was lucky enough to get invited on stage at Shania's show and also gave her a tulipe). After the next few songs, it was "Incredible's" turn and we decided to stand up when the chorus would start and just dance! Well we did and to our surprise, the whole room followed. Céline & co were totally and surprised, you should've seen their look.... while the audio captured it partly, you really should've been there to witness the vibe... it was...Incredible!! After the song, to our surprise, she did a non-scripted speech, which just showed how much fun she was having. Then came "Ne Me Quitte Pas", which was a weird transition. LCMM & RDMH were a big party with everyone dancing and after MHWGO we gave everyone on stage a roar of applause. It was definately a night to remember.

Now hurry up with those show changes Céline!

After listening to Tristan's bootlegs, I just realized that Nobody does it better is not lipped! Sorry, I always thought it was, and I've seen the show 4 times but loved the way she sang it differently on both the 10th and 11th, much more feeling and playing around with the notes. Incredible sounds awesome, love those super high notes towards the end and also that like hearing that the audience is starting to get into it as well! Thanks for the great reviews everyone.

I listened again and she was fantastic! Mr. Paganini, OMG!   "Incredible" ,especially the 11th, was amazing! The crowd response even caused her to veer off of her speech, now that's AMAZING! (because she does not do that!) I honestly wish she would change NMQP because she has the crowd up and pumping with "Incredible" then only to go into the melodramatic...... Oh well, what do I know :giggle:

Can't wait to see her again!

Is there any more recent pics of Celine from the June 2014 shows? It was mentioned on hear that Celine was spotted going to a party at Nobu. does anyone have any pics of Celine from this party or anymore new pics since her return from her break? Celine is looking really good right now. From new pics that I have seen, Celine looks skinnier. Her shoulders and arms look more defined. Maybe it's just me, but it looks like she's lost a little weight on her time off. The relaxation has done her good.

The video message to "All By Myself" Richard was recorded before/after the party. This was her look for the party

Yes. Still the same setlist.

Hi you guys

Ive been following this forum for a very long time. I was at the June 11th show. My mother and I were by the stage in ROW KK. A few rows behind Tristian. I just wanna say how awesome it was to be there. Ive been a big Celine fan for a about 6 years now and being there last week was a night I will never forget. It was a spectacular show, the energy from the fans was great. When INCREDIBLE's chorus started and the fans jumped up in the first row (the very sexy fans lol, I had no idea Celine had such a big gay fanbase) it was great. That was a great idea, had I not read it here that they thought of that I would not have known. It really caused the whole audience to folow suit and get up and dance along and sing. I just loved her singing The Reason, my favorite vocal that night. Thank you so much Tristian for the audio from that night. I can now hold on to that forever.

Celine's performance on the 11th brought me waaaaay back. It was legendary. I felt a depth and brilliance in her voice I haven't experienced in a long time. Words fail me. She did things with her voice no human being should be able to do. She needs to be in the studio NOW.
