When will we get the next French album?

No offense, but I've never quite understood comments like this. If the new album is to contain all-new, original material, I'd want to hear NOTHING like "Pour que tu m'aimes encore." If I wanted to hear something like that song, I'd put on that song or the "D'eux" album. Again, if the new album is to contain all-new material, I do hope it will have a fresh, new sound to it. That doesn't mean I want Celine to team up with a French Calvin Harris. It just means I want to hear lyrics and arrangements that are innovative and different.

I think Celine has done her circle with themes like love, partnership, femininity, motherhood, etc. in her french career. I mean we've already had a lot of material concerning this stuff since 1995, although there've also been other themes too in her latest french albums (meaning from 2003-2012)

To me, this period needs something more revolutioanary like Dion Chante Plamondon. I would love him to give her some songs portraying and hitting the facts of our era as it happened in 1991, when there were huge changes.

I want Celine to enter more serious stuff at this point of her career!!

I would love anything he writes for her. Notice he produced and wrote the two most successful french albums ever Deux and Sil Suffidait D aimer. Both albums are incredible, every song is good on both. Your right about PQTME but I really like Cherche Encore and Sur le m'aime butaeu! We should really push for this.

I think that must be understood as "I'd like him to write a song for her that would become a new classic, as PQTME did back then".

Unfortunately, all the songs JJG wrote for other artists these last few years are pretty bad. But I guess Celine would inspire him in a different way !

I think on like an anniversary of the album, she should do like an concert, maybe even an unplugged concert of the album with every song. That album was a huge hit and maybe even some Sil Suffisait D'aimer tracks.

:S another proof that humans are all different: for me d'elles is my least favorite album from Celine. I really wanted to love La Diva since i love when Celine goes high, but that song always ends up with a headache :-( Sans Attendre is at the top along with SSDA and D'eux.

 

Btw, jean jacques Goldman is still writting for other artists, i think he is just out of inspiration for Celine and prefers not written anything rather than writting bad stuff for her.

Yeap, JJG is still writing songs for other singers, but not for Celine...

I think my opinion on this topic is not going to be very popular and of a minority. But to me, Sans Attendre still feels so new to me that I'm not dying yet for anew album. Would it be amazing? Of course. As always. But I'm okay for another year or so, I don't feel as rushed as others do. I'm still savoring Sans Attendre and loving it. I'm okay for a while yet.

It still feels new to you although it never really had the feeling of being new/ different? That really amazes me...

I really would like to have some additional material from her knowing this will at least take 1, 2 or even 3 years.

She really needs to team up with JJ Goldman again. Their collaborations were magical. He wrote great songs and her power, technique, and grace just brought out the best in the arrangements better than any of her other albums in my opinion, with the exception of LTAL and COML. It just seemed like she really took time on these albums.

It would be great to have a new french album as soon as possible. I would like that she makes something like D'eux/SISDA, but with a new and modern production and sound. Deep lyrics, catchy up-tempo tunes, melancholic ballads... all in a nice combination of real instruments and synth.

Back in the 90's , she released one or two albums per year and she was criticized for this. Today, that's all a different story. But when you think about it, the gap between SSDA/1F4T/D'elles/SA always was 5 years...that makes me think we won't get a new album anytime soon.

 

But on the other hand, they should think about the fact she 's not getting any younger. She's already 46 and she can't afford anymore ( vocally, physically and simply from a mediatic point of view) to wait so much between 2 albums.

SA is almost 2 years old and we haven't had any info about a possible future new french album. That's scary. When she came back from her hiatus in 2011, we had already rumours about collaborations , song titles... but now, nothing! I wonder if they have ever thought about the next one? Remember at the beginning Luc Plamondon

said it had written a full album with lots of "special" things? What happened?

For instance, Johnny Hallyday will release his new album later this year and the last one was out the same period as SA...

That's just a feeling you have. D'eux was recorded in 15 days and SSDA even less ( during the recording sessions she said that was - at that time - the fastest album she had ever recorded)

 

At this stage, I don't care about collaborations I want...I just want only a rumour/news about the next album. And I'm very grateful to JJG for his honesty when he said he doesn't have any inspiration for her anymore.

 

The guy doesn't any inspiration anymore for everybody. He keeps on writing for other people but songs are very weak. I guess he has a lot of respect for Céline and doesn't want her to sing bullshit ( at least, his )

Well the plan in the 1990s was celine media saturation, put her everywhere and every place possible. BRILLIANT PLAN! but if they want to do that again, its going to be different. I mean award performances are more important, collaborations are more important, and social medica presence plus youtube videos.

 

Everything is about all of those now.

DOING A guest performance at next years eurovision would be great, being an idol judge, or voice judge also.

I think she could just return to her roots and do get standard typed albums just as simple as that. SA had no modern material in it besides maybe QPVSA, and look how well its sold. I believe with the timing she was all tangled in with the A New Day show. That show took up the whole last decade of celines career basically and now with "Celine"(show) she has way more freedom for ideas, albums, etc. Also after the AND show she went on a world tour and had twins, she didn't stop she just didn't record much. As for a new french album now, we can expect one in summer 2015 and a new English album maybe Fall 2015. If not then most likely the winter of '15.

 

With Celine's new manager coming in, we can expect some different things going on in her career. Hell bring new ideas into the light especially considering that he's coming from Quebec, he probally knows alot of info and of fans requesting of a new album, in both languages. Celine is always open for ideas which hes said he has. And in the past, Celine has been influenced into doing things she didnt want to, and not just by Rene. And Rene even wants Celine to move forward with her career, so his health definately isn't a issue here.
