I have seen members dreaming about a Summer dance hit as if Celine EVER had a Summer dance hit. Same thing with lambs (I was reading some comments the other day) that plan Mariah's future single releases saying a ballad would be a great Winter release as if radios are going to support her. And please, don't tell me you're expecting this single to be released 'just for the fans' cause nobody would do us the favor of spending time and money on releasing a single just to please the fans. It shouldn't have been that hard to accept that Celine is past her golden days. Edited June 10, 2014 at 07:36 PM by LukeD 1 Quote

mairtin Posted June 10, 2014 at 08:43 PM Posted June 10, 2014 at 08:43 PM I agree. It wasn't my favorite initially, but it has grown on me steadily and now it's my 2nd favourite after LMBTL. Would love to hear from sh*t hot remixes too. 4 Quote

Frozen_Phoenix Posted June 11, 2014 at 08:49 AM Posted June 11, 2014 at 08:49 AM I doubt the song could be a hit, although it's nice. It reminds me a bit of "Eyes on me" which was a single and which wasn't a hit... Wait what was Celine's last hit? There was something with a boat... No, I know I am mean but somehow I lost hope when Loved Me Back To Life performed the way it did chartwise. 1 Quote Et la vie glisse sur l'eau du tempsLa vie resiste, prend son elanPour un baiser elle peut se poserLe temps qui compte est toujours compte http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f248/ARMOIT/celinechances-1.png
Peppercorn1991 Posted June 11, 2014 at 09:04 AM Posted June 11, 2014 at 09:04 AM ^ think we all did but we can't just give up on her career... She has never been a singles artist really... She is more than that in other ways.... That said... It's important to still release singles and it's buzz for the albums.... Lmbtl wouldn't have sold as much in the uk if it weren't for the singles Kev x 1 Quote
Frozen_Phoenix Posted June 11, 2014 at 09:30 AM Posted June 11, 2014 at 09:30 AM Well, to me it's just frustrating to see that one diva after another misses on having hits, Cher (fantastic album = no hit), Celine (ok album but a few fantastic songs = no hit), Kylie (ok album = no hit) 2 Quote Et la vie glisse sur l'eau du tempsLa vie resiste, prend son elanPour un baiser elle peut se poserLe temps qui compte est toujours compte http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f248/ARMOIT/celinechances-1.png
LukeD Posted June 11, 2014 at 12:41 PM Posted June 11, 2014 at 12:41 PM (edited) So ur basically saying there should never be another Celine dion single released? Kev xShe can go for lead singles and singles she can support with live performances here and there since there are markets like UK and France where singles are affected by live performances. But right now, the album has fallen out of 95% of charts and Celine is busy with Vegas. It's pretty obvious the promotion of LMBTL ended sometime during January. She's had a big break during Spring (almost 3 months) and she did nothing for the album, she barely included songs from it in her show. Edited June 11, 2014 at 12:43 PM by LukeD 4 Quote
couldawouldashoulda Posted June 11, 2014 at 02:17 PM Posted June 11, 2014 at 02:17 PM Well, to me it's just frustrating to see that one diva after another misses on having hits, Cher (fantastic album = no hit), Celine (ok album but a few fantastic songs = no hit), Kylie (ok album = no hit) Oh, I hear your frustration. But the time of the diva is over. LONG over. At least, the time of the diva having hits. That's just not going to happen anymore. The world moved on. Radios moved on. It's just like rock 'n roll and disco. Their mainstream radio time ended. I'm sure there were a few people lamenting "Why don't disco artists ever have hits anymore?" "Man, if the studio would just freaking promote this new disco song, I just KNOW the world would love it and go crazy over it!!!" And that's what many Celine fans are doing today. She will always have a career and always record and sell albums and always do live performances and sell them out. She's an established iconic act. But her time in the mainstream spotlight is long since dead. To quote Celine "And that's the way it is." 4 Quote

And that's because it DOES need to be $100.000 or more. This s&it costs money. I have said it time and again...those of you who are not in the performing industry have absolutely no concept of how much it costs to do these things. If you did, your mind would be blown! couldawouldashoulda Posted June 11, 2014 at 05:24 PM Posted June 11, 2014 at 05:24 PM Here is a taste of what a music video entails (in case anyone is interested). First Celine gets paid and Ne-Yo gets paid (a hefty salary) from the producers. Their makeup/hair/wardrobe people all get paid. And then the producers have to pay for their wardrobe. Then you have the entire cast in that video - all get paid. They're all dressed in clothes - all paid for by the producers. That cast has hair/makeup/wardrobe staff that get paid. There is an entire crew of people you never see, people who hang lights, riggers, sound operators, sound recorders, sound mixers, editors for the video, whoever owns the giraffe gets paid for the use of the giraffe (probably a zoo), the giraffe will come with a trainer who gets paid, the giraffe will have handlers who get paid, the producers will have to pay for the giraffe's food, they will have to pay for the food of the entire crew, they will have to pay for the food for the entire cast, they will have to insure the entire cast, they will have to ensure the entire crew, they will have to ensure that mfing giraffe, I could go on and on and on with the list of things that go into making a music video and the money that it all costs. 1 Quote
Davey84 Posted June 11, 2014 at 06:08 PM Posted June 11, 2014 at 06:08 PM you forgot to mention the guy who photoshopped her face frame by frame, that's probably the highest cost But seriously... Do Neyo and Celine get paid??? Cos it is to promote THEIR song, which should generate income on its own. Also not every video needs dancers, giraffes and flying monkies! There's plenty they could do in a small budget. They just have to be creative. And if remixes cost money to make... put them on freaking iTunes so people can buy them!! it's still beyond me why we can't buy her mixes! Right. That's why I'd be totally fine with Celine in a studio (which still isn't cheap but it's about as cheap as it gets to make a music video). Something similar to Whitney Houston's I LOOK TO YOU: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Pze_mdbOK8 I really love Whitney's video for MILLION DOLLAR BILL, which is a bit more involved: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wNIcVTmUSOU It wouldn't take much to satisfy me video wise. The TAKING CHANCES video was over the top. I didn't enjoy it. I think she looks great in some shots (like the limo shots). But the song could've used a much simpler music video. And I think because the TAKING CHANCES video was so expensive and it didn't take off like they wanted it to -- we've really suffered ever since. She didn't release anymore music videos for the TC album and we've all seen how the LMBTL era has gone. But, again -- just some simple videos. Celine looking glamorous in a studio -- with some wardrobe changes and some nifty special effects. That's all it'd take to please me! And it's all the general public wants from Celine anyway. If LOVED ME BACK TO LIFE (fingers crossed!) or SOMEBODY LOVES SOMEBODY gets a music video -- they could both be less involved than the INCREDIBLE music video but still make a big impact. I feel so strong about this song being a single and with a great video and aggressive promo it could be huge... But where is " the remix for the clubs" that she mentioned in the studio? Its obvious that they at some stage plan to release it but im praying they do it completely differently from lmbtl and incredible... Im sure that if we would have had a great video for lmbtl that music tv stations would have shown it and got it out there to more ppl and it would have made a greater impact... I for one thing that a certain branch of sony needs to let go and let another branch take over im my opinion because quite simply they went 80% with lmbtl but didnt go the full 100% now with two singles that had great potential but for watever reason thought 80% was good enough and they still haven't learned from that mistake which to me is shocking and unprofessional. This would be the 3rd n final chance to make things right or if they aint willing to there are more branchs who would willingly go the 100% and we have seen that already...
