Mattie Posted August 6, 2014 at 12:10 PM Posted August 6, 2014 at 12:10 PM Getting a teeth pulled out in exactly 11 days. It needs to go as it's been causing me lots of pain and headaches for years as it's gotten so close to a nerve. But still, not fun. Feel better soon. I'll be doing something similar to what you're going through soon enough. Good luck and well wishes when you go in! Thank you to everyone for the well wishes! Friday will be a full week I've had my wisdom teeth extracted, and I've been feeling great as of yesterday. The first few days were extremely difficult; I couldn't chew anything. Jello and pudding got tiring after a while I'm on antibiotics, so I don't get an infection. So far so good! 2 Quote ♦︎ july 7, 2012 - las vegas, nevadahttp://i59.tinypic.com/11tluus.png

I hope that does not happen to me but keeps getting better for you. Two words: ice packs. Got four at the dollar store and they gave me two after my surgery. Make em nice and cool, pop em on your face! Sleep with them too! They worked wonders when I didn't want to take pain meds; those made me vomit, plus I try to avoid any medication if I'm not in dire need of it. You should be fine, don't worry! 2 Quote ♦︎ july 7, 2012 - las vegas, nevadahttp://i59.tinypic.com/11tluus.png

Felifel55 Posted August 9, 2014 at 10:15 PM Posted August 9, 2014 at 10:15 PM Spanish, FrenchI've never used it so I can't say whether it's good! I have heard mixed reviews about it though. Pimsleur seems like the best based on reviews. But I'm learning Arabic right now and a site called Innovative language has loads of free lessons,e books and podcasts. For French and Spanish too. You can also pay if you want to complete all of the lessons and access all of the features. Quote 'Can you keep a secret?'

Well I've been studying it on and off for just over a year. I really want to up my game though, I can't wait to be fluent. I'm listening to a Pimsleur audio book right now. It's really really good. You can try it out for free on audible and get a free audio book up to any value. The first 30 days on audible are free then they charge every month, just to let you know I want to learn French too. I was terrible at school but that's a different kettle of fish! 1 Quote 'Can you keep a secret?'
sfbaysinger Posted August 10, 2014 at 10:31 PM Posted August 10, 2014 at 10:31 PM Well as far as my tooth getting pulled and the recovery time, I have heard horror stories. Dumb question, but unless someone lives in a country where they speak Arabic, shat would be a reason to learn it? It sounds incredibly complicated so good on anyone who can keep it up that long! chocolatechip15 Posted August 11, 2014 at 01:20 AM Posted August 11, 2014 at 01:20 AM Well as far as my tooth getting pulled and the recovery time, I have heard horror stories. I think it depends on what kind of tooth you're getting pulled. I know some people have a rough time when wisdom teeth get pulled. I had some non-wisdom teeth pulled when I was about 13, as part of orthodontic work (all my teeth wouldn't fit in my mouth, lol), and I don't remember it being a big deal. I got to miss school for the procedure, and I recall spending the afternoon after they did it eating ice cream and watching movies. It was kind of fun, actually. Incidentally, you may want to get a 2nd opinion as to whether you need a tooth pulled. About a decade ago, I went to a dentist that was part of the plan I was on from my school at the time, and they insisted that I needed a tooth pulled (i think it was a wisdom tooth). I went back to my regular dentist for his opinion, and he said my teeth were fine, and it was just a shadow on the X-ray (seriously!). That was ten years ago, and I"ve been fine without pulling any teeth, so I'm assuming my dentist was right! Quote

Frenchie Posted August 17, 2014 at 09:39 PM Posted August 17, 2014 at 09:39 PM I am starting to get really excited about the fact that in a couple of weeks I will be going to Europe for the first time! One of the stops on our trip is to Paris. I thought I would go on a little Celine Dion shopping spree, and get CDs and records that are not release here in the USA. Does anyone have suggestions? Thank you for any help! :-) Alicia PS. I have to say, while I hope and pray things to get better for Celine personally, I have decided to take this time and go back through my Celine collection and getting some new additions. And I started by yesterday ordering from my cdstore LMBTL on record. It should arrive in1-2 weeks! So excited!! 3 Quote

sfbaysinger Posted August 18, 2014 at 03:46 AM Posted August 18, 2014 at 03:46 AM Hi everyone. I got through my tooth pulling okay. I actually did get a second opinion, and the dentists both agreed the darn tooth had to go. I am doing okay. I am absolutely crushed and devastated by recent events, although, Alicia, I LOVE your idea and taking this time to learn/relearn old songs. I haven't heard her in days and I miss her so bad. I don't know honestly if we will stay together through this. I have a feeling some people will leave her. But not me. Bell, I am sorry you had a difficult anniversary of passing day, and on that note, RIP Robin Williams. He was a SF Bay Area resident as am I, so while the whole world is moruning and talking about him, the bay area is especially. I will not be on Discussions for a while, I can't take the complaining, negativity and overall ripping Celine apart that must inevitably be going on there. I am holding this by such a thin, tiny little thread that one nasty comment will upse the fruit basket as they say. Just wanted everyone to also know I am on Twitter. If you don't wanna be hearing about Celine/this latest thing, you might? not wanna follow me. But I'm @sfcatlover if anyone wants to. I didn't go with sfbaysinger, because I'm NOT a singer anymore.
