It's interesting, isn't it . . she's such a master of the media and public relations. She reveals just enough to make herself seem like an open book (and keeps saying that she's an open book) -- and she's so genuine that what she does reveal seems very true (I'm sure that, for the most part, it is) -- but she manages to keep plenty private, and she knows exactly how to answer questions while getting across only the message she wants, and nothing more. I think it's only people like us, who obsess over every interview, who realize that she's not such an open book. (and I'm not criticizing at all - she totally deserves her privacy! I just think it's fascinating how she manages to work the system)

It's interesting, too, because she's said many times that she wants her fans to love her beyond her songs, and to know her story . . . but at the same time, there are, quite understandably, parts of her life that she doesn't want to share.

I agree. Even though we know so much about her, sometimes I feel we don't really know her. But then again, we're not her friends or part of her family, and the "relationship" we have with her is that of artist and fan.

There are some things I'm curious (I guess we all are) about her. Little things, really. Nothing important. Things that we don't need to know but we would like to. Maybe it's because it would make us feel a little bit closer to her.

It was just a conversation over dinner between some close people whom the Dion/Angelil family invited. It was never intended that each and every single question would be answered.

When we are invited over to someone's place, we do not bombard the host with questions and seek information. This was supposed to be free conversation and the person who asked this didn't have each and everything written down somewhere. Whenever he got the chance, he put forth the questions without being rude to the occasion. I hope it isn't too hard to comprehend and feel bad that several questions had been dodged/unanswered. :flowers:

Heck, even I'd have loved to ask her several questions but this was not the time and place to do so. Let us be grateful enough that at least we were informed that we could pose some questions, which they could not have even revealed. If this is the attitude we present, then what makes us think that we may even be able to get another chance the next time? :shrug:

I had no problem with the list. Two of my questions were included, the highest voted one among them (If she knows this forum exists). The questions were voted, selected, passed but not replied. Same goes for the recipe question. So yes, the voting was pointless.

Ah ok! Now I get what you mean.

Yeah, I'd have loved to know the recipe question as well. But like I said, the contact didn't have it written down and I think whatever he could ask, he did. :shrug:

If you could invite anyone famous who has passed away to dinner, who would it be?

I was watching this 1998 interview, and it reminded me of this question because the interviewer asks her, "If you could invite anyone to dinner, even those who have passed away, who would be at the table?"

She says Rene would be there, and if she is thinking of people who have passed away, it would be her niece Karine and Rene's mother. So sweet.
