I was the guy before you! I was supposed to get the ViP tix but realizing it's a bit far already from the stage, i settled for the Patron instead! What row did you got with you and your buddies?

Haha. I purchased online light_secret. I have no idea who the guy in front of you was. I still found Patron to be too expensive given the seat choices available. If seats at patron sections 106/117 were available, I would have went for it. I was extremely surprised that they had to block out those sections too after blocking 15 rows at the VIP area. I ended up buying lower box tickets instead. I love Celine but a month's salary to watch her from the 16th row onwards for 2 hours is too much for me

Are you referring to me? We got the row Q middle seats of the VIP section. Actually it's not really that far, you'll still recognize her chin from that row. LOL

People who barely got any sleep for the past week because they had to refresh their browsers every hour to check for details on the concert, especially ticket prices. Those who got extremely disappointed when the original date of ticket sales was cancelled. Those who suffered from excessive paranoia. Those who refreshed their browsers every minute an hour before tickets went online to make sure that they had the best possible seats. Those are the real fans. They're the ones who had a tough time trying to get their hands on a ticket compared to those who were given the privilege of being pre-sold one.

I was just trying to reason about the practicality of things.

Maybe I'm not making any sense here, but in my opinion there's no way to measure who's a real die-hard fan and who's not when selling tickets, unfortunately.

You will have to create an account to be able to buy tickets. There's not exactly a VIP package, only what they call "VIP seats". As of now, there's no way you will be able to see Celine up close since the first 18 or so rows are already sold. No backstage/soundcheck pass on sale.

Taipei, Aug. 5 (CNA) American pop star Mariah Carey is open to holding a Taipei concert in late October as part of her Asia tour, but Taiwanese fans might be left dangling for a little while longer as no location has yet been confirmed.

 

"It's not a done deal yet as Taipei Arena hasn't confirmed its availability," said Amy Ko, marketing promotion specialist at Yu Kuang Music.

 

"If we manage to get the venue, the most likely date for the concert would be Oct. 29," Ko told CNA, contradicting an early report that Carey's concert will fall on Oct. 28.

 

"Once the venue is confirmed, we will then officially announce the date," she said.

 

She promised an answer no later than mid-August, adding that the concert organizer for Canadian singer Celine Dion is vying for the same time slot between Oct. 27 and 30.

 

Either way, Taiwanese fans will be able to attend at least one of the two divas' concerts. If they do figure out a way to both take the stage, it will be the first time the two best-selling artists have performed in Taiwan within the same week.

 

Dion has given over 1,500 concerts worldwide but has never performed in Taiwan, while Carey came to Taiwan in 1998 as part of her Butterfly World Tour.

 

Carey released her 14th album, "Me. I Am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse," in May. Dion released a three-disc set titled "Celine une seule fois / Live 2013," which reached the top ten on the album charts in France, Canada and Wallonia, Belgium.

I'd personally choose microtel between the two. Tune hotels is a mixed bag... you just don't know what you're gonna get. Don't restrict yourself to hotels near the arena though as you may want to be in a more strategic place if you want to tour Manila. For example, if you want to tour Rizal park or stroll by Roxas Boulevard, Manila Hotel is a good choice. If you want to be closer to the walled city of Intramuros, the Bayleaf Intramuros hotel is a good choice. Plan your itinerary first, then choose where to stay
