whosarahre Posted November 6, 2013 at 09:36 PM Posted November 6, 2013 at 09:36 PM it had a lot of potential but was produced badly. it opens beautifully! then goes to a drippy faucet r&b style I cant stand. the same style that ruined the song I most looked forward to: at 17! 1 Quote http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v243/whosarahre/photo68.jpgI'm gonna love you forever always together, you'll never be far away from my heart
Javito Posted November 6, 2013 at 10:12 PM Posted November 6, 2013 at 10:12 PM (edited) The only joy that brings me this song is that it reminds me a lot to the Michael Jackson style of songs. A cause, A cause Posted November 8, 2013 at 01:18 PM Posted November 8, 2013 at 01:18 PM Hate, Hate, Hate this song and don't see why it made the album. It should have been a B side or as someone else suggested the album should have just been the new recordings with the Vagas covers as bonus tracks on the deluxe version. Would have made for a more creative album. 2 Quote

TommKat22 Posted November 8, 2013 at 07:02 PM Posted November 8, 2013 at 07:02 PM When I first heard that Overjoyed was going to be on the album, and listened to the original on YouTube, I wasn't excited for it at all. But now, after listening to it on the album, I have to say that I quite enjoy the song! It has such a bittersweet message! 3 Quote Tommy
Pangloss76 Posted November 9, 2013 at 01:41 PM Posted November 9, 2013 at 01:41 PM And here I go with my retarded bomb syndrom... Everytime an album comes out (especially when it's Celine's), after a few days, there is one song, that I hadn't really been paying attention to that always ends up played up repeatedly lol. I never really see it coming and with the LMBTL album I thought that there was too much excelent material to be surprised by one song again. I mean, it's been five days since the release of the album in France and I've already put BA and WAAF on a repeat mode. But tonight I opened my eyes around 3am with the lyrics "over dreams..." stuck in my head. Since then I've been playing, humming and singing the song restlessly.... Gets me everytime LOL.... 1 Quote
meanttofly Posted November 9, 2013 at 02:48 PM Posted November 9, 2013 at 02:48 PM Although I hadn't payed much attention to the song when it was included in the show, now I really enjoy it and I like the fact that it creates a different moment in the album. I like it much more than SLS (not a big fan of it). Quote
minolli Posted November 11, 2013 at 06:10 PM Posted November 11, 2013 at 06:10 PM (edited) I really hate to say it, but after almost a week of listening to the album, the song doesn't bother me as much as it did at first. That doesn't mean that I actively like it, or think that it belongs on the album -- something better could have easily taken its place -- but at least now it doesn't make me want to stab myself in the ears. (Still kind of cringe at Stevie's whiny voice, though.) Edited November 11, 2013 at 06:11 PM by minolli 2 Quote http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lsg43qJH1b1qa4phqo1_400.jpg
Prima_Donna1 Posted November 11, 2013 at 11:16 PM Posted November 11, 2013 at 11:16 PM You know guys I agree this song is horrible, trash. vile and what the hell I agree.... NOT This song is not that bad. I am the minority here and I get that but it makes me laugh about how much some of you hate the song. It really does. Even though there are some parts with the percussion and between Celine and Stevie that I don't agree with, I feel like this is a great r&b song with some ol school throwback 80's flavor. For some reason this reminds me about when Stevie did an episode on the Cosby Show and he did a mini duet with Felicia Rashad (I don't know why it just does). It also reminds of like Javito said "Michael Jackson flavor" or style a la "Off The Wall" era. Either way it's fine if you don't like it it's just different tastes. 2 Quote Apprends-Moi tes Secrets...http://i789.photobucket.com/albums/yy180/miss_daly2881/post-1110-0-56076900-1358706235_thumb.jpg

If only she had dueted with him instead... When Stevie sings that "oveeehhh, ovehhhh, ovehhhh", I tell you I'm on the verge of banging my stereo First: I would love to hear Celine in duet with MJ! That would be epic! But he passed away too soon...Second: About Stevie's "ovehhhh": It seems he didn't feel very well... It's like he's going to... Or he got something stuck beetwen his teeth and he was trying to get rid of it.. It would be a nice song without him. 1 Quote The Best Is Yet To Come...
flutefreak Posted November 14, 2013 at 02:17 AM Posted November 14, 2013 at 02:17 AM I can't believe this, but I also woke up this morning thinking of Overjoyed and had it on repeat all day. Damn, it's one of those grower songs to me like most of the TC album. I just realized today how amazing her voice sounds on this. This always happens to me, but usually it takes much longer to get into a song I originally didn't care for. 1 Quote

LukeD Posted November 14, 2013 at 12:33 PM Posted November 14, 2013 at 12:33 PM Stevie's ''oveah, oveah, oveah'' is probably the most cringeworthy part of her entire discography. 2 Quote

Wita19 Posted November 14, 2013 at 04:24 PM Posted November 14, 2013 at 04:24 PM What's wrong with the duets? Is Celine really so good that she makes other singer sound flat? Or we are too harsh for the others? Nobody doesn't have as perfect voice as Celine has, that's for sure. If it is supposed to work, it have to be an amazing song. Also the second singer's voice has to be great. However not too strong or too weak, cause it wouldn't fit. It's so complicated! Maybe a duet with herself was a good idea? Anyway... We are lucky enough to have some nice duets. That's a good reason to turn a blind eye to some mistakes... More Ne-Yo-like duets, please? Let's hope their collaboration isn't "oveah"! LuisMa Posted December 6, 2013 at 11:28 AM Posted December 6, 2013 at 11:28 AM Once I kill off those birds maybe.... Sherrie, I know you will end up LOVING "Overjoyed". I have made this analysis and there are just a few degrees of separation between you and that song. Look: Stevie Wonder sang the original as well as "Mon Cherie Amour", whose second word sounds like your name. The other song that starts with letter O in Celine's new album is "Open Arms", which was originally sung by Journey. Journey's original lead singer was Steve Perry. Perry's biggest solo hit was "Oh Sherrie" which also starts with "O". When "Oh Sherrie" was on its last week on the Hot 100, Stevie Wonder debuted with "I Just Called To Say I Love You"! And if that's too much coincidence, look at these chart positions for Overjoyed: http://imageshack.us/a/img202/1653/b4ca.png http://imageshack.us/a/img853/5308/llsu.png :lmao: 4 Quote
