izadolphin Posted November 3, 2013 at 04:54 PM Posted November 3, 2013 at 04:54 PM The negativity around this song is a little ridiculous. It's not the best song, but far from the worst. So much Drama! lol ... It might be more popular if she sang it as a cover and not a duet. Anyway. Her vocals as always are amazing... I don't like it.. but I don't hate it. Not her part anyway. 4 Quote

Exactly.. In comparison it definitely doesn't do justice. But the song is not so bad. I like it enough that I still listen to it. Just not as much as the others lol 1 Quote

Javito Posted November 3, 2013 at 06:05 PM Posted November 3, 2013 at 06:05 PM (edited) There's always a song or several in Celine's albums that break all the mood and the cohesion that an album must have to flow smoothly from track 1 to the last. And I think that with "Loved Me Back To Life" this is happening again with this song . I have not listened it but I knew since they announced these Vegas show covers to be featured in the album. No need to be a fortune-teller to realize that this song and the other 3 Vegas covers were totally out of place in an album where they're sharing the same air as with Loved Me Back To Life, Somebody Loves Somebody or even the killer ballad Breakaway. If they are trying to freshen up her repertoire with this album, including this song is like walking 1 step forward and 3 steps backwards. And if the goal was to have Stevie in the album, at least they could have cared enough to ask him for a completely new song with a modern touch in it, that sounds of 2013, not 1980. Come on, they have not even recorded the song together in the same studio. Who is Céline doing a favour with the inclusion of this song in the album? Javito Posted November 3, 2013 at 06:18 PM Posted November 3, 2013 at 06:18 PM (edited) Just one simple question: was it that hard for René and Sony to include all original new songs in the standard tracklist, and include the 4 Vegas covers in the deluxe edition? Everyone would be happy that way, with an album of 13 full new recordings in the regular edition, and the damn 4 Vegas covers in the deluxe edition, as bonus tracks. Was it that hard to do, really? I think it's b/c they wanted to be able to say "duets with Stevie Wonder and Ne-Yo." It signals to the world . .Look, Celine can be fresh and 2013 and classic and timeless at the same time. They can appeal to a broader audience this way. They've always tried to appeal to as broad an audience as possible. 3 Quote

Yeah i wonder about that too. I can understand singing cover for a new singer, but Celine is alrady wellknown, there's no need to sing cover over and over again. 1 Quote

mike_z Posted November 4, 2013 at 06:06 AM Posted November 4, 2013 at 06:06 AM GREAT SONG, bad remake. Stevie's part is OK, but Céline sounds really outshadowed and "narrowed" to the song's melody, she couldn't even play harmonies. BAD production. Quote

GoldenLeaf Posted November 4, 2013 at 09:38 PM Posted November 4, 2013 at 09:38 PM Overjoyed is the only song I don't like on LMBTL. This song would've been a lot better if Celine would have sung it alone since I simply can't stand Stevie Wonder's voice. =/ 3 Quote
