3rd single for me US and UK

Agreed. This song works well for both markets and is a better choice than 'Somebody Loves Somebody' and 'Water And A Flame', more quality in this song (both vocally and lyrically)! Edited by LukeD

I adore it. Should be the 3rd or 4rd single after "Loved Me Back To Life", "Incredible" and "Breakaway".

You must be over the moon (as I am) that we'll get to see it performed live on the Home for the Holidays special in 3 more days.

The thing keeps getting better and better, now another new song from the album is being performed for the very first time  This is what they should have done with all her albums during the promo, premiering songs here and there, step by step in each TV show she goes. This way maybe each song from the album will have at least one video of Céline performing it! ^_^ Hopefully dream come true.

This is great, her singing a ballad from the album on this show will let people know that the album still contains classic Celine repertoire.

I think people mentioned this before... It is a smart move to sing this song live in a US appearance. People there need to know the album contains some great ballads.

Amen! The masses here don't want new sounds, they want the singer doing a format they're used to.

This is why I think it is a mistake that she's going for a playback performance of 'Loved Me Back To Life'. There is no need to push this song again there, it had no impact on charts and it was not well received judging by the low album sales. Same goes for 'Somebody Loves Somebody' and 'Water And A Flame'. It is obvious they want Celine to stick to what she's known for, so she'd rather perform songs like 'Breakaway', 'Didn't Know Love', 'Thankful' and 'Always Be Your Girl'. I could now bet some money that even live performances of 'Overjoyed' would work better than 'Loved Me Back To Life'. :pinch: Edited by LukeD

I bet if she released a "Duets" album (an idea that has been extremely successful since Frank Sinatra did it back around 1993) that it would be an immense-super-mega success. It could be the most syrupy David Foster produced crap on the planet and the US would eat it up. Hell, even the original "Water & a Flame" with Vegas songs would have caught more attention.

I prefer to see her perform Always be your girl and Thankful than Loved me back to life (again AND playback). The only (live) performance that did the trick for me was Jimmy Fallon. Radio/CD-wise The i-i-i-i in the intro is also alienating her fan base imo.

I like to listen something modern but i listen to Celine for ballads, that's what i want and can't find in another singer. if i want a club banger or something i'll go to britney or rihanna so if you're gonna do that kind of thing, you gotta do it better than the competition ;) i love the song btw but i do think production-wise it coulda been better, as for Breakaway i do also love it but its a by the numbers song like I surrender, which is a not good quality to have. The most honest song in the album as a composition (and delivery) is Didn't know love, that's art. hopefully it will get the attention it deserves.

I SURRENDER could have been a huge hit. It's actually more well known by the masses than "Goodbye's" and it wasn't even released as a single. It's the song many contestants from reality shows chose to audition. That's the kind of song we want from LMBTL. I think "Breakaway" is the new "I Surrender".

And "Didn't Know Love" is an improved version of "My Love". It would definitely work as a single on the AC format! Could be a big hit there a la HYEBIL, and it's still the "new" Céline.

You say that I surrender could have been Huge but we'll never know if it would... I thought it was the obvious 2nd,3rd single at the time too and in my book a song (even by the numbers) as I surrender is better than Goodbye's, the most corny song ever and contesting for worst single ever together with One heart and with the most bizarre accompaning video. But i prefer something in the vain of Je t'aime encore (the englsh version shoulda have been a single) and My Love (HYEBIL is good enough but the production quite corny)

My Love was way TOO SLOW! HYEBIL, however, was a HUGE hit on AC radio! Her biggest ever I think! Great song, beautiful lows and high notes, a nice concept video despite her ugly look LOL
