Celine Dion Joins Twitter!

Julie Snyder just confirmed to The Red Heads that Celine's twitter account is managed by Sony Music. She also said that the account was of course created with Celine's permission and that she will comunicate directly with her fans via short video messages that will be uploaded by Sony.

 

I thought so. Céline herself sending tweets? Too good to be true haha. It was much of a coincidence also that the official site was so quick today with the news, when they're normally always behind them , and encouraged fans to follow also her facebook account (managed by Sony lol)

 

Anyway, let's hope Celine (Sony ) gives us interesting scoops there, at least more than what we get in the official site and facebook!

Yeah, it's a "managed" twitter...but then again, most big stars (the biggest ones, more often I think) have their Twitters managed.

 

I'm bothered about this new Twitter only in one small way. It feels as though this is just Celine and her team again being behind the times and slow on the uptake. It feels like they are setting up this account because the fans have demanded it and they realized they're fumbled with promotion and everything else. I can just hear them saying..."What are the kids into these days? Oh, Twitter? Okay, let's get a Twitter!"

 

I mean, I guess I am just saying that this should have happened a YEAR ago.

 

 

Also, Vine? That platform is stupid.... Instagram would have been a better choice.

I wish she would do like cher does and spend an hour every couple of days, sometimes 2 hours a day replying directly to fans, yes cher doesnt have 3 kids, but she loves the interaction, and feels it makes her more accessible to fans, and unlike gaga etc she tweets all the time, for 3 years, not just when an album is out. It would be amazing if celine did that

And it doesn't matter if it should have happened a "year ago" twitter is only getting bigger is essentially in its prime right now so honestly this was a great time to join and they did it the right way with immediately posting a clip of her mentioning the album. It created tons of hype. For videos like they posted and apparently plan to continue posting vine is a much better choice than instagram. Instagram's videos are glitchy and cannot be played directly on Twitter, unlike Vine. If you want to watch an instagram video or even see a picture you have to click on a link and go instagram's app/webpage with vine you are able to view right there in the tweet.

And Annie Lennox is active on both Facebook and Twitter. She likes to put her own private photos and thoughts. Maybe one day when Céline's kids get older...

Twitter is a good move in a string of bad moves, I don't deny it. And I didn't know that about Vine's compatibility with Twitter. Perhaps saying "promotion" was the wrong choice.

 

But Celine's website has no input from her, they have failed to mention many things, and we always have to go through Twitter or reporters to get information about Celine's movements, album information, and more. Fans have wanted an official, up-to-date source of Celine information for a long time. We want to feel like her team is at least listening to fan feedback. We want to know what Celine thinks.

If you pay attention, there's a guys voice saying to her "and your on" I wonder who he is, if he is part of the twitter account? This is something RC and Annie Horth could help her with!

Sony has been stepping up their visibility with some of their artists, namely Celine and Whitney Houston. According to insiders within Sony they're re-branding and promoting Celine and Whitney worldwide. I hope they don't f*ck up their plans with these two superstars.

I am going to just say this. I think it would have been good if one of her team members made the twitter. Sony does absolutely less for her career and let alone report on the events going on with her. I hope too that this does give us exciting news. Annie amazes me, as a fan I can say that she speaks of everything openly and about every issue, either she's blogging one morning about what she made for breakfast and where apples come from than she's speaking her mind clear and loud the next day about racism, homosexuality, war in Egipt or VIH. That's what's being an open book, and not what Céline claims to do all the time
