You are not missing anything. Nothing new, just 10 seconds of the 1984 song . Honestly very very disappointing

Oooh I thought it was going to be great. Sad to hear this.

Yes that's we were all expecting. For sure it will be on internet soon. Let's say it's not bad but the trailer promised so much. For people who are not hard fans like us they can learn new things but for us it's all ready known

nice documentary. basically nothing really new. most focus is on 80s and 90s as usual. her 2000's and 2010's are passed by in less than 5 minutes lol out of a total of 101 minutes. barely mention of sous le vent, motherhood, las vegas's first run and finally sans attendre. thotoughly enjoyed what others said about her though, especially jean jaques goldman.

one thing: at the end rene said her priority are her kids, but her passion is singing and she will do all the time. i like that.

Actually 80´s and 90's are her best aera becaus its her ascension .. One big regret : why did they illustrate D'Eux conversation with SSDA recording sessions ?

I love that this shows the French side of her success (in France). So far I'm enjoying it very much. I love that Mia Dumont is interviewed for this and it's great to hear her role in Celine's early career.

I personally had never heard the story in depth about her being chosen for Switzerland to sing for their country in 1988. We always knew she did, but the process was fascinating to hear.

I love the talk behind "Lolita." Fun hearing Plamondon talk about not knowing what was going on between Celine and Rene (odd that the lyrics are on the screen).

It's also nice to see the Unison VHS interview!

I love the part where they talk about her silencing herself in 1990 to save her voice. Very touching.

I'll always love where she refused her award for the ADISIQ. So ballsy. Not to mention the sucess of Ziggy.

Also interesting I'm guessing the fact that they used the rehearsal footage for the 1994 Olympia concert that a long play version of the concert on video format doesn't exist. I hope I'm wrong.

Strange that the subject of Rene's cancer was avoided also fascinating the "Sous le vent" story.

We need to realize that this kind of specials about Céline will contain the same info we already know, maybe they can be different but the way she answer (as she did on Katie Couric interview, which I loved it) or the interviewed people, but it's basically how she became an international star.

This documentary was like a hommage for her :flowers:

I really liked this -- the same stories, yes, but told from a slightly different perspective. The only thing that was annoying was the overdramatic music they played when talking about things like her losing her voice in 1990 -- the background music seemed way over the top and kind of silly. I, too, liked seeing the selection contest where she was chosen to represent Switzerland (loved the way she sang Ne Partez Pas Sans Moi -- it sounded different from the way she sang it at Eurovision, and was amazing!). In general, I enjoyed hearing all the usual stories told by different people. I've heard the Dreams to Dream story many times, but I've never seen Rene actually speak about it. And I thought it was especially cute how they showed Celine, Rene, and JJG all saying how Celine and Rene were both crying the first time they heard PQTME.

One thing I wondered (because I couldn't understand everything they were saying) -- it sounded like Rene was saying that at the beginning of the MHWGO recording session, he went to order a pizza, and James Horner came out, very emotional and in tears, and said Rene had to come in the studio and hear the song . . . which I think was done in one take. So did Rene miss the actual recording because he was ordering a pizza?!?! If that's what he said, it's pretty funny! Never heard that story before!

it was not clear for me too, when René came back in the studio, i'm not sure if he have missed the actual recording and listen to the result, or if he came back for the end of it. What is clear, it's that Celine sang the song just once, she is a freaking genius..They said , they have tried after to do an other recording(another day) but the first one was better.

Umm... if you translate "prendre" in the context of the song it does not mean that. It means something along the lines of:

"If you do not want to take

The love that I give you

I could make you crazy, make you crazy

through"

i think actually that it means making love or f*** , depends.....

Toutes ces nuits toute seule dans le noir de ma chambre

À rêver que tu viens me prendre

All those nights alone in the black of my room

dreaming that you come take me

Plus qu'ailleurs , but now Si c'était à refaire , i still love tant de temps....

Lolita was very forward I think, especially for her age. Would she sing it now? Doubtful. Didn't she say somewhere that she sang it in front of Rene to arouse him?

Yes I get that thats what it is implying in the song and I agree but it literally means "take." If you want to say "Come take me to the store" it would be "Viens me prendre au magasin." So while it literally means "take" and not "f**k" I agree that it is implying that
