I agree that Ne-Yo went above and beyond to promote the song himself months ago -- but Celine's team did not meet him halfway. However, I think we should stop looking backwards and stop harping on what could/should have been. We all know that Rene was sick and I think (perhaps) Celine's team would like to do more but Celine herself is only willing to do so much. With that said, her success in the UK vs. the US has been night and day for the LMBTL era.

 

I think we should focus on what we have now and do our best to keep promoting and pushing for more material as fans. I hope INCREDIBLE is pushed for as much exposure as possible. And I honestly believe it would still be worthwhile to shoot a LMBTL music video. It would please so many of her fans.

 

I think the best way to directly "communicate" with her team is by posting (in the comments section, etc.) on her official website.

While I don't doubt those figures are fairly accurate, one must keep in mind that companies can now buy YouTube "views" to make their product look more desirable. It is also possible to buy Twitter followers, Instagram and Facebook "likes", etc. I wouldn't put it past Psy and/or Snoop Dogg's people to spend a few thousands of dollars to boost the video's numbers. Whereas, Celine's team is probably just learning what a cell phone is.

Yes. I'm glad I was already a fan when all that happened and I could enjoy seeing Celine as the queen of the world.

Pointless to compare Celine to younger, "hipper" artists. Celine's career has been monstrously successful. We see how successful Celine truly was every time the Colosseum sells out in Vegas. She spent many years working tirelessly and she is enjoying the fruits of all that labor and sacrifice (not speaking for days at a time, not being around family, postponing children, etc.) Celine herself probably doesn't even want the kind of fame she had in the late 90s. That sort of fame never lasts. Every artist has their prime era and the kind of success Celine achieved is RARE. Many of us are so lucky to have watched her rise from singer to superstar.

 

I just watched an interview with Celine from the LTAL promotion and she said she was ready to take a couple years off after the huge success of FALLING INTO YOU. But then MHWGO happened -- which caused LTAL -- which led to THESE ARE SPECIAL TIMES -- which led to ALL THE WAY. Not to mention her French work (S'IL SUFFISAIT D'AIMER) and world tours that went along with that. So when Rene got cancer in '99, I'm sure Celine was absolutely fried with it all. She had achieved her goal and exceeded it. She was ready to take a break as early as 1996! But she pushed through til '99 and became an Icon.

 

I have to continuously remind myself that Celine is totally content with coasting along with her current status. So I'm working at being content too. But, as I've said before, she does still have to do just enough every now and then to remind people (both new generations and old) why she is the Icon she is. She never ceases to surprise me -- and I'm sure there are many, many more surprises coming our way in the years to come.

 

Now -- let's keep getting folks to watch INCREDIBLE! And let's push for a LMBTL music video!
