DionFanAlways Posted October 23, 2012 at 02:34 AM Posted October 23, 2012 at 02:34 AM I am really enjoying this topic! Quote I have had the time of my life following this woman! Much love.
Modesta Posted October 23, 2012 at 09:56 AM Posted October 23, 2012 at 09:56 AM MMMM, this is a fun topic. I'm watching clip after clip - just fabulous! Now this is one of my all time favorite LIVE performances. It's "River Deep, Mountain High" from the David Letterman show in 1994. There's so many things about this performance that I love. Her voice is amazing, she wasn't there to really promote anything as the song was not on the Colour of My Love album, she came out dressed casual - not all done up, She was focused and really into it, and it looks like she's using the Letterman "house" band. It really was a different Celine back then. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KCZpq9HA3kM Enjoy it! OMD! That was amazing! Quote
LVCeline Posted October 23, 2012 at 02:56 PM Posted October 23, 2012 at 02:56 PM This is one of my all-time favorite live performances! There are no huge notes or anything like that, but it's a gorgeous song, and a wonderful vocal. I adore it! Je N'ai Pas Peur De Mourir Avec Toi from Simplement Marnay Quote
PatrickDion22 Posted October 23, 2012 at 05:26 PM Posted October 23, 2012 at 05:26 PM There are so many, but one that has always stuck out to me was her 1997 performance of "I Finally Found Someone" at the Academy Awards. Her vocals are incredible, she's sitting in a chair - and had just 24 hours notice to learn the song (Natalie Cole was sick, so she stepped in). She showed the world what a true artist looks like that night. And the audience adored her for it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mv_W_XtBaUU Quote Follow me on Twitter: https://twitter.com/patjsully
stevo Posted October 23, 2012 at 07:08 PM Author Posted October 23, 2012 at 07:08 PM Wow!! Without doubt the best live vocal on that Letterman RDMH! So weird seeing her not move and twirling her baton...I often watch old clips and think if only she knew how or where she'd be performing that song in years to come Quote

Helen1981 Posted October 23, 2012 at 07:39 PM Posted October 23, 2012 at 07:39 PM This is one of my favorite.Just for looking in the camera like that. Like she was singing it just for you. Celine Fan 77 Posted October 23, 2012 at 09:14 PM Posted October 23, 2012 at 09:14 PM Here are some of my personal favorite live performances from the Unison era: Have a Heart (Juno Awards, 1987)I said it before and I'll say it again, gorgeous! She showed to everyone that she's got what it takes that night by singing a song in English at the Juno Awards, she really wanted to be known worldwide as a recording artist and she delivered true emotion on this performance. Probably the finest live version of the song. Shame that it was shortened. Where Does My Heart Beat Now (The Super Dave Show, 1990)I love when she sings in the original key. More demanding for the voice, but she makes it look effortless, that's something only a true artist can do. Again, I just regret the ending, I wish it would have been more impressive, but I guess it's normal since it was not a performance with a live band, but a pre-recordeed instrumental track. Where Does My Heart Beat Now (The Tonight Show, 1990)Overall, not really an impressive performance, but Celine starts getting into it as the song advances. I love how she hits that note at 03:47, you can tell it comes from the soul! Any Other Way (Into The Night, 1990)I know I repeat myself but, I just love how she plays with her voice on this particular performance. It's so fun and on the original key once again! I wish she'd do some fresh things with her songs nowadays like she used to do on the early days of her anglophone career. If Love Is Out The Question (Winter Garden Theatre, 1991)I wish we had more live versions of this song, which is one of my all-time personal favorite tracks from this album. The live version is quite better for me than the studio recording, she really feels the lyrics (you can see it on her face at certain moments of the performance) and enjoys the music while singing. Can't believe that this song wasn't included on the 2006 broadcast! Anyway, she made justice to the song. Incredible live performance, pure power from Celine here, specially on this so dramatic song. My ONLY real regret is that she did not sing If We Could Start Over live, not even one single time. I can't believe it since we are talking about the most vocally demanding track from the album. It starts very soft, almost acapella, and then Celine shows off her vocal power. chocolatechip15 Posted October 24, 2012 at 01:48 AM Posted October 24, 2012 at 01:48 AM She should of had a standing O for that one! I remember that performance! Her voice is incredible on that I Finally Found Someone performance, and she always exhibits such grace under pressure -- I remember this from '97, watching my tape of the performance over and over. But I wish it was Celine without that trumpet -- I find the trumpet so annoying. Also, large parts of the song don't make sense when it's not sung as a duet (e.g. the part that's supposed to be "You know I love your hair/Are you sure it looks right? And I love what you wear?/ Isn't it too tight? . . Did I keep you waiting/I didn't mind . .I apologize/Baby that's fine/I would wait forever/Just to know you were mine -- But celine just sings "Are you sure it looks right . .isn't it too tight . . .i didn't mind . .baby that's fine . just to know you were mine" -- it doesn't make any sense! I don't understand why they substituted a trumpeter for a duet partner. Quote

Yentl Anchel Posted October 24, 2012 at 06:42 PM Posted October 24, 2012 at 06:42 PM This is so hard, cause there are so many good and emotional performances! I really like http://youtu.be/ppLrni6mZXEjust because it shows how good she is even without her earplug in! http://youtu.be/4WBb8F0QtrkBecause I was there on the 1st row! And she NEVER EVER did that song again in Holland, Not even on the 19th what was in other ways exact the same os the first night! And my last one, where i can't find a video of, is a live performance of RDMH in Las Vegas Januari 2007 after whe had a tour in the Colosseum and we were be told of how good the sound was etc etc etc.. the complete sound and music stopped in the middle of the song for about 30 seconds... later that evening dancers came to us and told us that it was because of us that they could go on dancing (we were all singing very loud) I will really never forget that night... And I'm sure there will be many more momnets and performance I will never forget! Quote Elle est mon idéal, La plus grande étoileWill be going to Celine march 2 and 5 2016 and June 20 and 21 2016
