stevo Posted October 20, 2012 at 07:55 AM Posted October 20, 2012 at 07:55 AM Celine is the greatest singer on earth- let's celebrate her best performances! (again) I am loving her emotion, her look and flawless vocals here- I think this is in the running for one of the best live performances ever- the ending gives me goosebumps every time. Celine Fan 77 Posted October 20, 2012 at 11:49 AM Posted October 20, 2012 at 11:49 AM Fuff, so hard to pic just one, here are some of my favorite live performances: Have a Heart (Juno Awards, 1987)A perfect performance, the only thing I regret is that she didn't sing the full version of this song. However, it's not an easy song to sing, specially the second half of it, which is highly demanding vocally. She just managed to sing it on the same key as the album version and, to my taste, it resulted to be an even better performance than the one she did on the recording studio. I wish we'll eventually get a higher quality version of this video. Any Other Way (Into The Night, 1990)Another amazing performance but, unfortunately, a shortened version of the song once again. I love how she plays with her voice during this performance and the fact that it's on the same key as the album version, which is more demanding vocally for her (mainly because she usually sings her songs on a lower key than the studio recording). Where Does My Heart Beat Now (The Super Dave Show, 1990)Finally, a non-shortened performance on the same key as the studio recording. Great performance, demanding for the voice, but she makes it look effortless. I just wish she would have done a more original ending but, overall, amazing again! L'amour Existe Encore (Un Siècle Sur Scène, 1992)The orchestra makes this performance even more sublime. She hits just the right notes, I really enjoy this era, short before her vocal trinity, as some fans like to say. The Power Of Love (The Sonia Benezra Show, 1993)Amazing, what can I say. Probably the best live performance of this song from all the promotional tour she did to support TCOML between 1993 and 1995. I think she was getting tired as the performance went by, but she managed to really deliver and do justice to the song. Quand On N'a Que L'amour (D'eux Tour in Paris, 1995)One of the most impressive live performances of her career in my opinion. She performed the song in other occasions but this is the ultimate live version in my opinion. To Love You More (Juno Awards, 1997)It's a rare gift to get to see a 100% live performance of this song, but WOW. I don't understand why she is always lipping it 'cause she doesn't seem to have problems to sing it really live onstage. A very nice and surprising ending by the way. My Heart Will Go On (Academy Awards, 1998)The greatest live version of this song ever! Shame it was shortened... The orchestra is not at its best, but Celine's voice is! I wish she sang the song this way at least once again, with such emotion and vocal power. The Prayer (Academy Awards, 1999)Seems like she really likes to impress the world every time she gets the chance to perform at the Oscars. I wish she and Andrea had also sang this song live at the Grammys that year, so we would have two stunning live versions from the same year. sailornic Posted October 20, 2012 at 11:32 PM Posted October 20, 2012 at 11:32 PM in the "to love you more" she c'ant sing the last part, she's completely breathless Quote
québecflower Posted October 21, 2012 at 12:12 AM Posted October 21, 2012 at 12:12 AM my favorite but maybe not her ultimate best is My heart will go on at the Oscar...the pressure she had to face , i can't imagine. To sing almost perfectly, one song (to me it was perfect) cold turkey , wow. For me , it is the best performance ever by any artist. Not easy to sing a song so difficult , knowing millions of people around the world are listening. That is for me the turning point in her carreer. She has becomed a legend just there. Quote Plus qu'ailleurs , but now Si c'était à refaire , i still love tant de temps....
Bell Posted October 21, 2012 at 09:24 AM Posted October 21, 2012 at 09:24 AM L'amour Existe Encore (Un Siècle Sur Scène, 1992)The orchestra makes this performance even more sublime. Shaun Posted October 21, 2012 at 03:55 PM Posted October 21, 2012 at 03:55 PM I agree with pretty much what everyone else has already posted, some classic performances. Here's a few of my very favourites. I'm Alive - Live at La Fureur, 2002One of the very best performances of this song in my opinion. Celine's voice is so strong and she's clearly loving the lively crowd as well. Love this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uriIWW4fCko My Heart Will Go On - Live at World Children's Day 2002Those of you who have been here long enough wont be surprised to see me listing this performance here. Without a doubt my favourite live performance of this song. Celine's voice is as strong as ever, the orchestra really made a difference to the song and I've no doubt David Foster's presence made Celine raise her game as well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jGPNmEAy1DM Love Can Move Mountains - Live at World Music Awards 2004Not my favourite song of Celine's but this performance is so full of energy and importance that I loved it at the time and I still love it now. This was one of the times I realised I don't always need Celine to be on top form vocally to enjoy her performances. I loved that she featured the "A New Day..." cast as well. I love it when she went into the audience and touched Clive Davis and then kissed Rene. She OWNED the room that night! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jGPNmEAy1DM God Bless America - Tribute To Heroes 2001Celine was in the midst of her hiatus when this tragic world event occured and although she admitted being scared she came to New York to be part of the telethon and to deliver this incredible performance. So emotional, so strong - this was a time when everyone stood together and Celine was right there alongside everyone. A quite outstanding performance. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rfcdrUDQ_tc Quote Bringing you the world's only Celine Dion podcast show since 2014.Find us on Soundcloud, Apple Podcasts, Spotify & Amazon Music.

For me, the World Children's Day concert is Celine's best performance of TTWII, TP & MHWGO! She was simply stunning that night, her voice was crystal clear, and for the first time in 2002, she didn't have the really soft voice we were used to hearing since her comeback, instead she had brought back her POWER!! Celinenvegas Posted October 22, 2012 at 08:39 PM Posted October 22, 2012 at 08:39 PM MMMM, this is a fun topic. I'm watching clip after clip - just fabulous! Now this is one of my all time favorite LIVE performances. It's "River Deep, Mountain High" from the David Letterman show in 1994. There's so many things about this performance that I love. Her voice is amazing, she wasn't there to really promote anything as the song was not on the Colour of My Love album, she came out dressed casual - not all done up, She was focused and really into it, and it looks like she's using the Letterman "house" band. It really was a different Celine back then. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KCZpq9HA3kM Enjoy it! Quote ~J O E Y~
