I just can't get over the fact that they did not use any of these pictures from the 2012 photo shoot for any commercial purposes, which IMO are the best pictures she has ever taken. Instead for the Billboard awards and the children concert they used mediocre pics from the new shoot where she does not look that great actually (especially in the one for the children concert)

You answered your own question... it's a TWOTHOUSAND AND TWELF photoshoot, 2011 actually, and it's TWOTHOUSAND AND SIXTEEN now! I also love the LTAL photoshoot but they can't go on using 2 decade old photo's!

With so many good photographers out there that are constantly exploding with great ideas and sets for photoshoots, I don't know how on Earth she repeated with Alix Malka again... to do the SAME thing

She did do the same thing here but remember the other shoot where she looked crazy (but I loved it) .... I'm sure she will do something different next time round...

I agree. These photos, although some of them are very nice, are all taken with a white background and it looks like they belong to last photoshoot. Not very creative imo.

If you mean album photoshoots, we have to go back to "1 fille & 4 types" (2003) to find an album photoshoot taken with a set behind her. Though that was a casual photoshoot, taken during the rehearsals to the recording of the album in Paris and then in Vegas, while they were shooting the videoclip for Tout l'or des hommes with the other guys.

 

But if you want to find the last real photoshoot with a set behind her, we have to go back to A New Day Has Come, which was done outdoors in most of the pictures. That's 14 years ago. FOURTEEN freaking years! There's also One Heart, but unfortunately all the good pictures with a set behind her were used for the Chrysler campaign and not in the album booklet

Yes, we have to come back ANDHC (sorry Luke)... but this one wasn't so artificial, of course Celine posed for pictures but it was more casual, more laid-back. And actually it's the photoshoot which came along with the whole theme of the album perfectly and which complemented it. I can't imagine ANDHC without all those clouds, sea, sunset, etc... Those natural elements constitute the integral part of the album.

You're forgetting the 'Miracle' project . You can like it or not as an album, but to me it's definitely one of the most ambitious projects from her discography, a complete audiovisual experience that has never been repeated again in her career.

I agree that it's somehow the closest thing to a visual album we've got.

 

And yes Miracle album is definitely another example but it was not treated as a regular album, rather addition to the project itself while ANDHC concept was all around music and not other products.
