I loved better her first performance of QPVSA, but the playback was better here. However, did you see the audience's reaction? People went mad about this song! It's a good single choice!! with a proper video, it could work!

Come on , so she didn't sing with Natasha St-Pier, the next real singer in all the show? Are this serious???

 

For God's sake, Natasha St-Pier is probably the next best canadian singer in french after Céline, and the most popular one, and they give her a full show with Céline but they don't sing together?????

 

Pulizeee how many times has Céline sang QONQLA with Maurane already? 2, 3, 4 times? And they can't take the advantage of having the treasure voice of Natasha St-Pier next to her to sing just one song for once?

 

What is this all about??? I'm serious when I say that I don't understand a thing of what Céline's team does MANY times! :doh:

 

Sorry but to me this has been another wasted chance directly thrown to the basket, just like the french "Le Grand Show" I don't know what the hell they're doing with Céline and the people she choses to sing with!

Yes it was very strange that Céline didn´t sing with Natasha st. Pier both from Canada, show dedicated to Céline ... there are lot of people in french TV shows who sang with Céline in past like Johnny, Maurane, Patrick Bruel, Shym, Amel Bent, Florent Pagny, Helene Segara ... and they are invited again and again maybe Céline likes them all ...

The negative points, as you mention, is that it's a shame she didn't get to share stage time with St. Pier and other great artists. The positive is that people are responding so overwherlmingly good to the album that they must be doing something good. Sometimes I know I do get upset because, as a fan for more than 20 years I'm looking for the next amazing thing, a revelation, a 360º turn, something that makes me go Wow (which of course she has done several times) and not go on and on with the same old songs and the same type of shows. However, I also put myself in the shoes of new generations, new people who are there discovering her for the first time, those who haven't heard her sing one of those songs I've listened to hundreds of times... and I feel good about it, bringing me back to the moment I heard "Where Does My Heart Beat Now" for the first time, and that is important, as she's amassing more and more fans.

 

And if she has lost some fans along the way, her promo and her new material is bringing more people onboard the Celine train. Yes, I know I'm waiting for that next thing as I said, but in the meantime I'll be enjoying her success no matter what.

Yes, I'm by no way contradicting your points, on which I agree. What I feel is like, ok, here comes this song again... then as you say why not differently, but then... the album sells, people see her...

I agree with the promotion aspect, this album has received a promotion like we didn't see many of her works in the past, but somehow I have a feeling of dejà vu with several of these "TV specials", like I'm watching again something she has done the week before.

 

I mean, we know Céline's time is precious these days, she concentrates now all the promo efforts in one month or so, and then we don't know about her in many months, until she's back again with another album or giving a new interview, so why not taking advantage of all these shows she's done in TV and make them really good, unique, each one different from the other? Because like I said, I have a general feeling that its been too much a sense of repetition with the young academiciens paying her tribute here and there, many other singers taking advantage of her presence to promote their own albums, etc etc.

 

To me, the only genuine "Celine show" they have done is the first one of all, the Sans Attendre show in TVA by Julie Snyder. I'm not saying I'm against having her surrounded by friends, fellows and other singers like they've done in Le Grand Show, Vivement Dimanche or Chabada, but one show is enough to see how these people steal time of "her" show to promote their own songs instead of watching Céline sing herself what she's come to sing.

I kinda agree with you Javito. Same songs different outfit, at least in Chabada Celine had the change to sing a little bit of different songs, but the rest of the show are the same playbacks, I believe only 1 of them was 100% live. As Javito was saying they should've done one really great show and that's it.

I can understand that she didn't sing with Natasha (they rarely benefit from such opportunities) but I don't understand one thing about SA's promotion at all. They have NEVER had so many random singers singing CELINE's songs... I don't see the point of all of this... Le grand show.. ok 1 show like this ok, but why more? In the past those other songs were at least duets...

 

has anyone recorded the full show? What did Celine say? sth interesting?

Is there any pics from this tv special? I have noticed there isn't as many pics of Celine on this forum as there usually is. I have had to go searching on google to get pics from all these new tv specials, cuz i can't find any pics on here.

 

I don't belong to facebook or twitter and it makes it hard to find pics, when there not posted on the forum. I hope someone can post some more pics from all these specials.

 

I really liked the outfit that Celine was wearing in the We Love Celine special, when she was singing Parler a mon pere. If anyone has pics of her in this outfit i would really appreciate it.
